Culver |

Culver is worried about the chanting villains, and he directs his attention to Slade and the witch. Stepping forward, he whispers a prayer of protection, directed at Yahvev. He shouts, "Li, disengage and bring them to me if you can."
Standard Action (Culver) - cast shield other on Yahvev
Full-Round Action (Yahvev) - charge Slade

GM Fuzzfoot |

Curly puts yellow down on the ground, but as Yahvev gets close to Slade, a pistol shot rings out. Yahvev takes a bullet as he charges in, and it throws off its attack.
Ranged Touch, PBR: 1d20 + 9 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 9 + 1 + 1 = 17

Perry Moran |

Sorry. Had some RL issues that kept me away. Should be able to keep up now.
Perry drops the crossbow and moves up on the closest bandit, whistling for Shadow to attack with him.
Unarmed attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13
Damage if I hit: 1d6 ⇒ 1
Shadow's attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
Damage if that hits: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6 Plus trip attack trip: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
Hmm.... Guess my punishment for being away is to be totally ineffective at everything! :-)

GM Fuzzfoot |

Perry misses, but he and Shadow still like their odds as Li moves out of the area, nimbly avoiding the strangely modified cowboys.
Antonio takes a shot at Slade, and draws blood.
Angel eyes is up...

Angel Eyes |

Angel Eyes moves forward, teeth clenched against the pain of his injury as he fires again at the witch.
Revolver attack vs Touch AC: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16 vs Witch (Green)
Revolver Damage: 1d8 + 6 + 1d6 ⇒ (2) + 6 + (4) = 12
Includes +1/+1 to attack/damage for Point Blank Shot & +1d6 for Up Close and Deadly deed.
Dang, I'm busy for a week and the thread explodes! Move 20' and use my regained grit to shoot again at the witch.

GM Fuzzfoot |

Angel Eyes makes the shot, and the witch screams in pain.
That seems to turn the tide of the battle a bit. Slade's grin is removed from his face and he whistles for his horse to come running in. As the horse runs trhough, the witch and slade both grab on and get pulled away.
Meanwhile, the cowboys continue to claw at you.
Lt Blue vs Perry: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8

Li Wei |

Li continues over to Culver and begins to tell a story.
"A Witch professed to be able to avert the anger of the gods by means of charms, of which she alone possessed the secret; and she drove a brisk trade, and made a fat livelihood out of it. But certain persons accused her of black magic and carried her before the judges, and demanded that she should be put to death for dealings with the Devil.
To be affected, an ally must be able to perceive the bard’s performance. An affected ally receives a +1 morale bonus on saving throws against charm and fear effects and a +1 competence bonus on attack and weapon damage rolls.

Beauford "Curly" Jackson |

Curly swears as Slade attempts to whisk the witch away from the battle. Ignoring zombie shambling off, Curly steps around the feral cowboy by his feet who's still taking swipes at him for a clear shot at the retreating figures.
Rifle Attack VS touch AC on the Witch (at the second range increment): 1d20 + 5 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (11) + 5 + 1 - 2 = 15
Damage (B and P): 1d10 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 1 = 11
"Don't let them get away if you can help it!"
5 foot step for a clear shot, free action to reload which might enable an AoO depending on how disabled Yellow is, standard action to fire at the witch, free action to speak.

Culver |

Culver whistles and Yahvev charges the witch, trying to pull him off the horse. Culver then whispers, moves slightly, and takes two shots at the fleeing form of Slade.
Swift (Culver) - tiger focus
Full round (Yahvev) - charge witch
5-foot step (culver)
Full round (culver) - attack slade
shortbow on slade, puma focus: 1d20 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 2 + 1 = 5

cmb trip, bull focus: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23
Iirc if a trip attempt works on a mounted character they dismount.

GM Fuzzfoot |

Delaying Angel Eyes and Perry
Curly maks his shot, and the witch slumps in the saddle just moments before Yahvev pulls the horse down! Slade and the witch tumble to the ground, with the latter appearing quite dead.

Wei continues hit fable "She was found guilty and condemned to death: and one of the judges said to her as she was leaving the dock, "You say you can avert the anger of the gods. How comes it, then, that you have failed to disarm the enmity of men?"
Then he charges at orange and delivers a crane fisher strike on the man.
Charging Strike: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25
Damage Bludgeoning: 1d6 ⇒ 6

Angel Eyes |

Cursing as two of the enemy seem to be getting away, Angel Eyes hustles forward to take care of the cowboy... zombies(?) that still threaten the others, but then grins as Curly's shot takes the witch down. The gunslinger raises his pistol and fires at one of the cowboys threatening Li Wei - who speaks inspiring words that seem to bolster his spirit.
Revolver attack vs AC: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16 vs Zombie Cowboy (Orange)
Revolver Damage: 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10

Beauford "Curly" Jackson |

"I hate to be a downer here, but if we want answers about what's been happening here we should be trying to take Slade alive."
Having given as much of a suggestion as he's going to, Curly turns around to find the Zombie shambling away from the battle. "This one was already dead though. Seems like we should help return it to that state."
Rifle attack on the shambling zombie vs Touch AC: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
Damage (B and P): 1d10 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 1 = 11

GM Fuzzfoot |

Between the two shots, the zombie does fall.
Perry?

GM Fuzzfoot |

Slade pulls a flask from his belt, and drinks it down as he growls through the pain. Someone's wolf gets an AoO here, I think. Yahvev perhaps?

Culver |

Aye, it’s him. Note that Yahvev doesn’t actually get inspire courage - I goofed. He doesn’t understand English fluently (yet). Feel free to remove a bit of damage.
bite, bull: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20
bite damage, bull: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Cmb to trip, bull: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7

GM Fuzzfoot |

The bite hurts Slade, but not enough to prevent him from drinking that flask. Suddenly, he transforms into a puff of smoke, and you watch as the cloud floats away.

Angel Eyes |

"What the hell is this?" Angel Eyes grunts, his eyes narrowed and a sliver of fear in his voice. "Folk don't just disappear in a puff of smoke like that. And these men... Were they already dead before we shot them down? They sure don't seem right..."
The gunslinger reloads his pistol as he speaks, his eyes watchful for any further threats as he waits for some answers.

GM Fuzzfoot |

With the smoke blowing off into the distance, all is eerily quiet.

Perry Moran |

Perry looks around in disbelief, then starts around checking the other bodies. "Dead men fighting, freaks with glowing eyes and men turning into clouds of smoke to blow away! What sort of demons are we dealing with!?! Bullets and arrows still seem to affect them, but if they can fight from beyond the grave how do we put them down permanently?"
I vote for burning bodies even if just for to feel like it might help....

Culver |

”I agree. Let us strip these demons of their possessions and search the camp. Then burn their bodies. I also think that we should head down to Slade’s farm and see if we give him some comeuppance. Maybe take some things to pay for the murder of our boss, and we could send the money to his widow. As far as I am concerned, he has forfeited his claims.” Culver cleans off Yahvev and scratches him behind the ears.

GM Fuzzfoot |

The bodies, for the most part, have nothing of value other than pistols and ammunition. The (blue) one appears to be no different from the others now, although no blood poured from its wounds.
The witch, on the other hand, is very interesting. She has a book - perhaps a journal, but it is in a language you have never seen before.
She also has an ornate ceremonial dagger, and 2 vials of liquid that you don't recognize.

Angel Eyes |

Angel Eyes glances over the witch's belongings with only mild interest, though he takes a sniff of the vials to determine if they might be alcohol of some kind. He could certainly use a stiff drink!
"Yeah, let's burn these bodies and head to the farm. Maybe we'll find some answers there, if nothing else." The gunslinger growls as he hands the vials over to whoever wants to carry them after deciding he'd rather not drink anything carried by the witch. A primal part of his mind wonders if they might be potions that would turn him into a walking dead man like those they just fought...

GM Fuzzfoot |

You stack up the bodies and hike up to the ranch house. It is a very nice place - clearly the home of someone well off.

GM Fuzzfoot |

The house is filled with nice furniture, and even some very pricey antiques (assuming any of you have an eye for such things).
Nothing really stands out as odd, though.
Are you looking for anything in particular? Feel free to describe your thoughts and roll a perception or similar.

Culver |

”Well, let us take whatever money or weapons we can find - do we want to search for the deeds or other legal paperwork? I expect we can identify things better now that we’ve spent so much time with Cordon’s things. Slade’s property is forfeit in my opinion.”

Perry Moran |

Perry starts searching the walls, behind pictures and such. "Take any paperwork. We can read it later to see if there's anything worth keeping. Check for somewhere hidden, maybe a stash of valuables, hidden panel in a desk drawer or such. Bastard consorts with demons and witches probably doesn't keep things in the open."
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20

GM Fuzzfoot |

Perry finds a safe in a wall, behind a painting of an eerie looking woman. It looks quite solid.
There is also quite a large library.

Culver |

Culver also does an investigation, looking for secrets in the library.
Cast Heightened Awareness and search around.
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9
He spots a lot of books. Culver checks the safe for traps.
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16
He then attempts to unlock the safe if he finds no traps. He summons a puma focus and gets to work.
Take 10 on disable device to unlock for a total of 10+7+1=18

GM Fuzzfoot |

Unfortunately, Culver doesn't have much success.
Anyone else?

Angel Eyes |

Angel Eyes takes a look at the safe, but the gunslinger can only shrug. "Stick of dynamite could do the trick, but I don't have anything like that on me. Could be the key is hidden around here somewhere, but more likely that crafty son-of-a-b+$%! had it on him when he escaped us."
Perception Check: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14
Take a look around for a hidden key or a clever way to open the safe.

Perry Moran |

Perry can only shrug once the safe is located. "There might be some tools around here to cut the thing open, or maybe instructions for opening it with some of the paperwork. Or written on the back of a painting? Look around. Any clue might be important."
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
[ooc]Hmm. Barely noticed the gum on the floor before I stepped in it.... Can you take 20 on a perception check if we tear this place apart? Did we see anything like a tool shed outside? There might be cutting tools that could be used.[/dice]

GM Fuzzfoot |

You spend hours trying to find a way into the safe, but find nothing that seems to help.
You think with enough work, you could pry the safe out of the wall, but see no way to get into it.

Perry Moran |

After a thorough examination of the safe and search of the premises for any other clue Perry just shrugs. "Might open the safe with dynamite, but it'd likely destroy everything in it. I say we take anything of value here and torch the place. Then head out and try to track the sick bastard. Ain't so much vengeance anymore as killing an animal that just needs killin! What say you all?"

Angel Eyes |

Angel Eyes strokes his chin thoughtfully as he gazes at the safe. "Maybe we can pry it of the wall and get it open later. Might be something valuable in there. Or at least maybe something that'll help explain what we've seen tonight."
The gunslinger will help in the labor of getting the safe out of the wall, if it's of a size that his mule can carry. He agrees with Perry that there isn't any reason to stick around this place any longer.

Culver |

Culver nods. ”Let us take the safe and burn the house down. If we cannot stop Slade, we can at least hurt his prospects. Grab anything you think is valuable- weapons, silverware, and we can pry this... damn safe out of the wall and get out of his accursed house.” Culver has a dark, angry look about him.
