Class: Wild Child Brawler

Class Skills: A wild child gains Heal as a class skill.

Animal Companion (Ex): At 1st level, a wild child forms a bond with a loyal companion that accompanies the wild child on his adventures. A wild child can begin play with any of the animals available to a druid. The wild child uses his brawler level as his effective druid level for determining the abilities of his animal companion.

This ability replaces the bonus combat feats gained at 2nd, 8th, 14th, and 20th levels.

Brawler's Cunning: If the brawler's Intelligence score is lower than 13, it counts as 13 for the purpose of meeting the prerequisites of combat feats.

Martial Flexibility: A brawler can take a move action to gain the benefit of a combat feat she doesn't possess. This effect lasts for 1 minute. The brawler must meet all the feat's prerequisites. She may use this ability a number of times per day equal to 3 + 1/2 her brawler level (minimum 4 times per day).
The brawler can use this ability again before the duration expires to replace the previous combat feat with another choice.
If a combat feat has a daily use limitation (such as with Stunning Fist), any uses of that combat feat while using this ability count toward that feat's daily limit.

Martial Training: At 1st level, a brawler counts her total brawler levels as both fighter levels and monk levels for the purpose of qualifying for feats. She also counts as both a fighter and a monk for feats and magic items that have different effects based on whether the character has levels in those classes (such as Stunning Fist or a monk's robe). This ability does not automatically grant feats normally granted to fighters and monks based on class level, such as Stunning Fist.

Unarmed Strike: At 1st level, a brawler gains Improved Unarmed Strike as a bonus feat. A brawler may attack with fists, elbows, knees, and feet. This means that a brawler may make unarmed strikes with her hands full. A brawler applies her full Strength modifier (not half) on damage rolls for all her unarmed strikes.
Usually, a brawler's unarmed strikes deal lethal damage, but she can choose to deal nonlethal damage instead with no penalty on her attack roll. She has the same choice to deal lethal or nonlethal damage while grappling.

Character History :
I was raised in the house of a law man. That is to say, the home of the sheriff of Falls Gap, a little nothing town, miles from nowhere. He had his guns and his job. My ma had the rest of the house, which included me. Ma had been a fine city girl once, but had fallen for the chiseled rough features and sturdy frame of my pa. He brought her out here and set up a home for her. I wonder sometimes if he was gentler in his youth, but there's nothing gentle about him now. So ma pretty much raised me.

I think I was about five years old the first, and last time that pa put his gun in my hands. He cocked the hammer back and explained to hold it tight, look down the barrel and point it at my target, etc. When that thing exploded I shrieked, threw it and ran! I'd heard his gun go off before but never that close. Looking back I'm not sure who was more upset, pa for me being afraid of his gun, or ma for pa not teaching me right. Regardless, I learned my own path.

Since I didn't take to guns the way other boys did, ma got me a crossbow. I practiced with that, shooting at any target I could set up for hours everyday. Sometimes it took an hour or longer to find a quarrel if I missed, so I did my best to not miss. I also learned to whittle at night to make my own bolts when I could so I wouldn't have to ask for pa to buy any.

Word got around about my dropping the gun and the kids thought it was quite funny. Some thought that meant I was yellow and could be picked on. I learned to fight, and to be quick and hit before they could hit me. I had learned from the little that Pa said to me, including "Pick your target. Hit your target. And don't get hit yerself!" That last was very important to me.

I was about ten years old when Shadow joined me. I'm not sure if I called him or if something led him to me. Shadow is my wolf, but he's not like a normal wolf. I won't say that he's tame exactly, but he does follow my directions. I've trained him a fair bit and he's trained me. He's pretty good at moving around quietly and when I get in a fight he tends to run in and help me by dragging my opponent down. That stopped the local toughs that were picking on me. A couple of them threatened to get their pa's guns and kill him, but knowing my pa they realized that would be bad for them....

As I approached adulthood I learned to handle animals, train the smarter ones and herd the dumb ones. It paid, not particularly well but enough. I left home and hired on at a local ranch. I figured that once I had some experience I could leave town, and maybe find me a better job, better pay, and maybe a better life.
