Please post your character name, PFS#, Faction, and your Day Job roll. Once you have checked in here, go ahead and have your character introduced in the Gameplay thread. Welcome!
We have a couple of players that have requested a delayed start so they can wrap up current scenarios, so we will get started soon. You should be ok with doing introductions, though.

caps |

.
Since I have two characters that might finish soon, I'll wait to post with one of them until I know which one finishes first, that way we can get started sooner.
Alternatively, if it's looking like we'll have a higher APL I'll play with a Pregen so the other high-tier characters don't have to play down.

I'm in the same boat as caps. I have one character with one room left to go in MoFF and one character fighting the Minotaur in the confirmation, so it'll be one of those two. But, like caps, if you guys run higher levels I'm good with using a pregen as well. Both the chars I have almost ready are level 1.

My 4 Urban Ranger is ready to go. However I have a 2 Magus who is in the final battle of her current scenario.
My 4 Urban Ranger died at the end of her last adventure, so she lost a lot of money in the process. I have no problem playing out of tier if it comes down to that.
Will update once I know what's up.

PFS#:29609-3, Day job: None

![]() |

Hi, low tier. First outing.
Pfs 85932-3
Libertys edge
No day job.
Play style. High intimidate, passable diplomacy, high str 2handed DPR boy.
Has martial flexibility for a bit of in combat options.
Any hints on what is good for cold adventuring? Charn is from the northern tribes, but looking through the shopping lists I can't see any obvious cold related stuff to buy?

GM Fuzzfoot |

The average daytime temperature in Irrisen during this time is just above freezing, and the average nighttime temperature falls to around –5° Fahrenheit.

If you can afford it, potions of Endure Elements would be choice. One potion protects you for 24 hrs, but this can be expensive. Otherwise cold weather gear will give you a bonus on your saves.

I'm hoping my swashbuckler finishes up the last floor of MoFF in time for this, otherwise it looks like my Master of Many Styles monk will be heading to Irrisen.
Hey! I'm Evaladene over in the fortress. Trying something different for this game.

Wondering if sense I have cold resistance 5 if I need to buy cold weather gear

Alright, we just finished the final battle. I should be ready soon.

Cold resist 5 only gives you +5 on the saves.. if you add cold weather gear, that will give you (I believe) a +10 to your saves.

Yes, I believe that should be sufficient in most cases. As I read the rules for the cold weather, it is basically a Fort save every so often with a failure amounting to 1d6 nonlethal cold damage. The cold weather gear let's you check much less often, and DR would negate most of the damage in any case. Endure elements also works very well.

GM Fuzzfoot |

No corners here - I actually had to look it up, and even then there were some varying opinions! I think you posted while I was in the middle of all of that...

![]() |

Cirri has cold weather clothing ready. She was in the Shades of Ice module, so she has gear. Lousy human coldness.

![]() |

Dinopops...Cirri critted on a dino with Frostbite and her quarterstaff for about 26 damage total...
Frozen dinos indeed...

![]() |

sounds like you guys know the ropes, or the snow-shoes ;-)
I think of Charn as being a bit like samuel J in pulp fiction. Charming but also likes to be a bad-ass at times.
Who's your character like? Voice actor?

![]() |

I dont really have a template for my character. I feel like that would restrict their growth. Jazzy started out as a ferel don't-like-anyone- and-sulk-in-the-corner type, but all of her adventures were with the same main group. We started with Confirmation, and went through the entire Shades of Ice trilogy together. She was forced out of her shell by a very gregarious cleric that did not know the meaning of the word "no" and a mutinous and sarcastic little wayang alchemist that couldn't hit the broadside of a barn with his throw attacks, but who discovered that playing fetch with Giggles kept her from chewing on people. It was quite amusing watching her deal with everything! Anyways, all that is to say that I really just let my characters react to whats going on around them and eventually it almost seems that they play themselves.. I just roll the dice.

![]() |

Often, I'll play my characters off of their lowest and highest stats. With a 16 Int/Str and 9 Wis, I play off Cirri as distracted. She's friendly and always thinking about animals or magic, or magical animals, and then she gets distracted. She also underestimates her strength. Many ask why she would wield a staff as her primary weapon - cause she likes staves.

![]() |

hey Jazmine, i know what you mean. i'm pretty new, but so far liking letting my characters personality and backstory develop in game.
It's great that you've had a run of games with the same folks, i imagine that really adds to depth of rp'ing. Is that common around here or quite unusual?

![]() |

Man, it's looking like everyone but me is ready to go. I might end up having to use a pregen anyway... I didn't think everyone would get organized so fast!
I'd make a new character, but I already have so many in games that I didnt want to get involved in any more simultaeneous games than I already am in. Running a pregen and applying the credit wouldn't be so bad since I have two games just about wrapped up.

That really depends. Sometimes you get a good group that rp's a lot and has a great dynamic and everyone enjoys playing together.. and other times the game is full of people just there for the xp and only post oneliners. You also have to take into account the GM and how busy they are and how much they get into it as well. It's really hit or miss, but from my experience, it is kind of the exception to play that many in a row. If it is a trilogy or something, you have a better chance of it but it still depends on the dynamic of the group.

Cirri hasn't gotten her Chronicle yet, but the GM is usually busy on weekends. She can't get started on a new module until then. But she should be ready during the week. I think you still have time.

GM Fuzzfoot |

Yah, don't sweat it. Caps is still waiting to finish up too.

GM Fuzzfoot |

He can, but I am afraid he will be non-Core from that point forward (although I am not entirely sure why...)

GM Fuzzfoot |

No, as long as you don't mind, you can always convert core to non-core, but never the other way around. Basically, the first time it gets a non-core chronicle, it becomes non-core. (Happened to one of mine by accident).

![]() |

My GM said Cirri will get her Chronicle later today, so she will be ready to join soon.

![]() |

Allright, here is Steven Evil's character. Chronicle Sheet linked in profile, and character sheet updated with cold weather gear and snowshoes.
Dwarfs need snowshoes.

![]() |

There is barely anything in the avatar library that resembles the picture of the Nagaji from the Advanced Race Guide *other than* that picture. Terrible.

With higher-level characters around, I suspect the APL will be high enough that Korvalis can't drop foes with the first strike, so I'm probably going to take advantage of the free rebuild to swap out Improved Initiative for something else. I'm not planning on using Improved Initiative in the long run anyway--it's just a "default" when I build a lvl 1 and am not sure what to give them.
But what should I swap it for? I'm considering Endurance, but also Extra Rage. Or Iron Will.

![]() |

Respec more or less finished so I'm ready to go. Very little changed gear-wise--just MWK armor and Cold Iron hammer + sling bullets.
I went with Iron Will, but might still change before we start if someone persuades me in time.
Cold Weather gear seems to stack with Furs (although Furs don't stack with Survival checks), so I'm looking at a +7 bonus to those Fortitude saves, for +10 altogether. I'll still make (or aid on) Survival checks for those without Furs to get a +2.

![]() |

suddenly we're in barbarian/blood rager central!
funny thing is i have unassigned chronicles that i was thinking to use to make charn 2nd lvl and a blood rager - maybe not this time!
excited to get going.

![]() |

Well my Shaman's boss fight is dragging on. He actually just dropped unconscious for the second time. Bad deal for the party since he's the only one with Cold Iron weaponry of any kind. Luckily there's a Melee Paladin. Even after the boss fight there are some more to-dos for the module and, I think, one other fight.
So this was my available character with the highest XP. I have two other lvl 1 concepts but I'm trying to avoid getting stuck with a flood of 1xp characters and, in general, I want my 0xps to start in an evergreen.
Bring on the rage! It sounds like what we really need is a Skald to extend our Rage rounds per day.

Huh. Cirri's never really been in such a melee focused team before. Usually she plays tank. Time to mess with my spellbook...

![]() |

yes, korvalis - i know what you mean, this is my 3rd new character... but im still not sure what i want to play which makes me hesitate before applying my last re-make to a real table character i've accumulated enough xp to take to lvl 2.
and yes cirri, this is much more melee group than in my 'massive' - 6 games experience!
