Trick Attack (Ex) - 1st Level
You can trick or startle a foe and then attack when she drops her guard. As a full action , you can move up to your speed. Whether or not you moved, you can then make an attack with a melee weapon with the operative special property or with any small arm . Just before making your attack, attempt a Bluff, Intimidate, or Stealth check (or a check associated with your specialization; see page 94) with a DC equal to 20 + your target’s CR. If you succeed at the check, you deal 1d4 additional damage and the target is flat-footed. This damage increases to 1d8 at 3rd level, to 3d8 at 5th level, and by an additional 1d8 every 2 levels thereafter. You can’t use this ability with a weapon that has the unwieldy special property or that requires a full action to make a single attack.
You can't Full attack with trick attack as it is a full action. Since you crit with the first shot I'll just count the second ones damage as the crit damage. Basically in Starfinder Akimbo pistols is purely aesthetic and offers no tactical advantage.
I don't think I'd be lying if i said i wasn't a reason our conventionwent the other way. Took a second vote to break the tie but I can howl pretty loud.
Spoiler:
The DM was pointing at my character going "come on we got fitches kids in a bag here.... the SFS version of justin has ally boons that he flavors as whichever of fitches kids he was baby sitting sneaking away in his bag of holding. He's... not the best babysitter
This weekend I'll be in Portland for a mini-vacation before flying out to Orlando Monday-Thursday for business, and then that Friday I'm GMing a homegame session.
I'm adding bad smells and vomiting programming to the list of android details I've spent way too much time thinking about. Like gross visuals and smells being gross makes sense because of their organic components and need to eat, even if they don't breathe. But like, what are their vomit rules? Is it some instinct tied to their organics or is it a programmed thing? Did the Anacite's spend a bunch of time studying organics throwing up to come up with the programming? Was there a time when Androids were "bad" at throwing up? Is throwing up possibly tied to having a soul? Could we be lucky enough that all of these things are true?
Androids are nice and straight forward mechanically but there are a lot of in universe things that make me go "Hmm". Especially since different androids can have radically different fluff answers to those things.
The rotten molecules in the air would overload your synthetic smell receptors, prompting a bowel evacuation subroutine to run. Or at least that’s my idea haha

Exactly, or any number of other jargon combinations.

I'd imagine it's because they're made "in the image of" humans, but I suppose anything could be fluffed however that player wanted.
Even "In the image of humans" has a lot of leeway. Human civilizations could make androids that more closely resemble humans, having more organic components than synthetic. Where as the Anacites would make them resemble humans just enough to attract a soul and thus have more synthetic components. Mechanically both Androids are the same.
A good example is that I typically fluff damage to Dreamz more casually. She feels pain but not the same way that organics do. Wounds are more damage than harm to her, if that makes sense. But a more human android experiencing pain similar to a human is still only taking SP/HP damage.

Sorry I didn't post this earlier, but I have been shifted to nights as school is back in session. I will either post if I can when I get up in the mornings around 10 am CST, or won't be able to post until after 11 pm CST [if everything goes okay] Weekends are crazy as I have to cram in a second job and getting all the stuff done my family can't get done during the week.

Good point. I was probably thinking more of a feint so thought Bluff. In hindsight, The Survival would have probably worked better especially as it was more of a beast.

I'd suggest science for this round at least, just to get some scans and obtain some info on them. Who knows but I'd bet if those are small fighters, they may not have a rear arc weapon.
I just thought about this, but if I was a zombie I'd stay the f~!% out of space. I'd certainly not pilot a flying coffin. That's a good way to spend most of eternity floating through the cold void.
You’ve mastered the art of putting together technological armor and weapons from a variety of components. While equipment you construct certainly has your flair, it’s also clear that you can accomplish great feats of construction. When calculating the number of ranks you have in a skill necessary to construct a technological (not magic or hybrid) item, increase that number by 1. This allows you to construct technological equipment of up to your character level + 1.

Hell yeah let's have more guns. Mo' guns, less problems.
Dreamz's ability to craft at +1 level is going to be invaluable when we travel to the Vast, where buying stuff gets difficult. Now we just need to stock up on UPBs.
Hello! I’m planning on running a group of space hero’s through the Dead Suns AP starting with book 1: Incident at Absalom Station. I’ve already got 2 slots filled and we are looking for 3-4 more before start on Monday the 16th of this month.
The ideal candidate should be able to post at least 2-3 times a day and once a day on weekends. Story progression will generally happen whenever at least 50% of the party has posted about it unless it’s something major that requires everyone’s input.
All Paizo materials will be allowed as well including all races with some of the more extreme ones requiring approval.
Looking forward to seeing what everyone comes up with!
I can move skills around to make room, or just aid people.
He's only recently graduated from Fitches Daycare on the master of stars (Fitch may or may not have noticed that his parents left him there) and is looking forward to becoming a pathfinder. He lost 3 relatives in the scoured stars incident, and is hoping to find information about it that will help get them out.

I'm interested in signing up if there's space. Is the plan to run just book 1 or the other books as well? The character I'd play may vary depending on how long term the plan is... thanks!!!
OK, I've got several concepts in mind. Either a goblin solarion, a goblin envoy, or a goblin mechanic. If it wasn't apparent, I enjoy goblins... Any preferences from anyone regarding what class I bring? If not, I may go Solarion only because I have not yet played that class...
Solarian:
A Solarian goblin named FarOut. Despite being a warrior, he's, like, just trying to become one with the universe, man. He believes in fighting for peace and love, dude. In a nutshell, he's a new age space goblin hippy who will, whenever possible, try to subdue an opponent rather than kill them as death brings negative karmic mojo (but this isn't a strict vow that he always adheres to, especially if his teammates' lives or the mission is at stake). He always wears some article of tie-dye clothing, typically a bandanna. Ultimately, he's looking to find a place where his goblin tribe can settle down in peace, so he's off to explore the 'verse to find the raddest possible spot with the most righteous energy, bro.
Non-Combat Role: Face
Combat Role: Melee
Starship Role: Captain or Gunner
Envoy:
An Envoy goblin named Handsome Gob but he also likes to be called just 'Handsome' because of course he does. He sees the establishment of trust and friendly relations with all races to be of paramount importance in getting other races to stop persecuting goblins in general. He also thinks giving and receiving harmless practical jokes as the best way to establishing those relations.
Non-Combat Role: Face
Combat Role: Support
Starship Role: Captain or Engineer
Mechanic:
A Mechanic priest named Cogs with an exocortex. He is a follower of Triune and believes the exocortex AI in his head is actually Triune directly speaking and assisting him, so he does seem a bit 'off' to the sane folks around him. He also believes that obtaining official recognition from the church of Triune is critical towards establishing his tribe's legitimacy with other races.
Let's see, it seems we've got a soldier to take care of the frontline, we've got a mystic for the 'mystical' stuff, an operative for the under-the-table stuff, and if GM Nowruz can bring either a technomancer or mechanic, that takes care of some of the techie stuff.
This being the case, I believe I'll submit a goblin envoy for consideration! If someone else comes along who wants to play an Envoy, then I'll probably switch to solarion.
I'll work on getting my profile (including crunch) together for Handsome Gob!!
I had to recreate him. Backstory and all.
Added an 'm' to the end of his name to be more alien (I know it's stupid, but it works for me).
I realized I know next to nothing about this AP. Weird.
Anyway, here it is. Let me know what you think and any changes that need to be made.
Ramm, looks out the viewscreen at the orange gas giant surrounded by a dozen moons, a dozen potential worlds to explore. If only Suva could see this. She would have loved to see this. He thinks that every time, but orange is… was her favorite color. He begins to hum an old familiar tune as a tear rolls down from his eye.
”Come on, Suva. Just this one last time and we’ll have all the credits we’ll ever need. Then we can go gallivanting around the universe like you want. We’ll be able to buy our own ship. I’ve already put a downpayment on a runabout. That orange one you liked so much. We can live in style in the finest hotels or pick an undeveloped planet and live off the land. Whatever you want. I promise.” Famous last words.
Ramm could not bring himself to face Suva’s family. He couldn’t face his own family. He couldn’t even face his own reflection, so he ran. He ran straight for the stars that Suva so very much wanted to run to as well. He’s spent the last 10 years running away, visiting new galaxies, exploring new planets. Now he’s returned to Absalom Station. Home? He wants to make things right and, maybe find some forgiveness.

Gore (Ex) (Ex) A nuar can charge without taking the normal charge penalties to the attack roll or its AC. If the nuar has another ability that allows it to charge without taking these penalties (such as the charge attack ability from the soldier’s blitz attack fighting style), the nuar also gains the ability to charge through difficult terrain.
Maze Mind (Ex) (Ex) Nuars have a naturally strong sense of direction and an instinctive understanding of complex patterns. As a result, they very rarely get lost. A nuar can attempt a special level-based Wisdom check (1d20 + CR or level + Wisdom bonus) instead of using his total bonus in the Piloting skill to navigate or his total bonus in the Survival skill for orienteering.
Additional Info
In addition, a nuar with 1 or more ranks in Piloting or Survival also gains a +2 racial bonus to checks with that skill.

I've put together the beginnings of my character sheet here in my profile. I haven't purchased equipment or applied a theme yet, so that'll be the next couple things I add on! Theme will probably be space pirate from the Pact Worlds book.
Also, FYI, I have read the first two books as I've been planning to run the AP later on this year. Please let me know if this poses a problem!
Didn't think I'd get a few paragraphs out of him...
Background:
Being 10 There's not a whole lot of brackground to go into but...
Brave explorers, intrepid adventurers, grizzled battle hardened veterens willing to pick up a blaster and head into the unknown dangers of the vast with nothing more than their wits and a blaster at their side. These are what you think of when you think of a Starfinder.
It is not how anyone would describe Justin.
Small, timid, and with more than a little fluff under his fluff Justin was content to learn about the universe from those who had seen it from the safety of his favorite papasan chair: after it had been veted by a respected publishing company and thoroughly peer reviewed of course. He'd even seen some incidents he knew his parents had been involved in, and was pretty sure he'd be seeing his sister mentioned by name eventually.
Both of his parents and his sister had gone off on some enormous expedition. His little sister was already at a school on Sol, but he'd been dumped off with "Auntie Fitch" on the Master of Stars and was content to be yet another ysoki mechanic crawling into tight spaces and replacing control modules. And then he got the call. He told Thoth to put it on hold until he could finish welding a few fuse plates into place. Other mechanics just bolted them on, but the specs called for them to be welded in so welded in they were. Once done he wriggled out and just barely missed picking up at the end of the message.
"Play it Thoth"
A jet black rat, enormous by ratfolk standards, waved at the camera. "Hey baby bro, I'm just out here exploring the galaxy." she dropped to a faux whisper "Hope you're not too busy with nap time to listen to this message that I've gone through a LOT of trouble to send you. Wave hello to mom and dad, we're on the same squad for this one!" the camera tilted to a pair of patchwork rats, waving over their shoulders from the helm. "Keep your" the message cut out in a weird golden light. The Ysoki tapped the pin sized computer on my tail a few times. "Your holoemiters on the fritz again?"
"No. The problem is with the signal itself. Although if you want to take another whack at properly seating the emitters I'm not going to object.
Weeks passed before the enormity of the situation set in. 80% of the starfinders lost. Justin put his name on the list of pathfinder recruits and while he did well on the written tests, his usefulness in the field left something to be desired. With zero combat training and less physical ability he was offered a support position, the master of stars was always hiring for its big retrofit...
Which was how he found himself back home, once again looking for Kirkath as he scurried through the maintenance shafts with his favorite telescope. Fitches kid was sneaky, and Justin was so depressed he was barely paying any attention. The alarm warning beeped three times before he noticed and had a moment to sigh ruefully before being sucked out of the airlock into the cold vacuum of space.
Per the manual, he finished exhaling from the sigh and covered his face in foam from his fire extinguisher before losing the ability to move. He tried to time how long it had been and remember how long until he'd lose consciousness, but time seemed to stretch out far long than it should have. He tried to reach out across space, as if he could somehow say goodbye to his family.
It wasn't his family, but something reached back. A luminous being extended a tendril of its existence out? Over? Into or through reality as it was understood. Time stopped as it considered why the being before it was in distress. It took it a thousand years and no time at all to comprehend atoms, molecules, biology, and the puzzling fact that the creature before it was so out of tune with its own universe that it could only survive in a fraction of a fraction of a percent of its wonderous glory. A glowing tenrdil reached into his brain, and SHOWED him dimensions of existence, ways of being, modes of thought beyond understanding. Justin stopped deteriorating, his existence stabilized, the light faded got closer and went to black.
"Hey, You're alive" the Kasatha doctor moved the light away from his eyes "Nice job with the fire extinguisher. You don't look like you were out there for two minutes. Justins brain was both too fast and too slow to keep up with Dr Jiaskusins four arms moving him about. But he saw Kirkath sitting on the next bed over, nursing an arm in his a sling.
"Kirkath is VERY sorry you got sucked out of the airlock. He said you're normally faster than that. He hurt his arm trying to go after you."
Oh right. His being was out of its own existance. Justin reached out a glowing white hand and just moved it back. The bone knit, muscles re aligned, and veins and arteries met and starting pumping blood where they should.
The doctor blinked in surprise over his veil. "Did you remember to put THAT on your resume?"
And so Justin found himself on a derelict little freighter heading to meet with a Dwarven starfinder of all things and surrounded by a motley assortment of fellow misfits. Looking at the small Ibis shaped pin on his tail
I have yet to properly dip my toes into the Starfinder rules or mythos, but I guess gotta get into it sometime, right?
Are kobolds a playable race for Starfinder yet? Because just skimming through the classes, the Mechanic caught my eye, and when I saw the drones, I got this insane idea of a kobold piloting a dragon drone into danger (flamethrower "breath weapon", laser claws, bladed tail, rocket wings, etc.), who hopes to one day build his own "dragon" and found a homeworld of his own.
Updated my profile with stats. I'm willing to tweak the character to make sure that he does not step on any toes. Right now he is Sense Motive/Culture oriented with skills but if he and the operative are both picked I might shift from culture to Diplomacy or computers something.
I am really tempted to make him a SFS Data Jockey, but I think reluctant Divine Champion is pretty interesting.
I don't have the stats completed yet, but I thought I'd start with an introduction.
Kalhira is a young Kasatha, born on the Idari, and from as far back as she can remember she was fascinated by the worldship that housed her people. She learned everything that she could about it, hoping to one day become one of the engineers that maintained the ancient technology and preserved her home for the next generation. However, as she learned more about starship engineering and technology, she came to realize that her own peoples' knowledge on the subject was incomplete. Visiting starships from other people contained wondrous devices that she had never seen, and most visitors were not terribly understanding about her litany of questions and request to study their starships. Kalhira realized that if she was to truly make the Idari all that it could be, she would have to leave. To the sorrow of her family, she began to look for educational opportunities outside of the Idari, and settled upon Absalom Station, and the Starfinder Society.

Hi Captain Ford. There are no kobolds yet but there are a race called Ikeshti who are similar enough to kobolds in appearance if not culture, and there is the new Dragonblood theme from pact worlds so your idea could definitely work with some tweaking.
Egisthikal or Egg for short is a Wytchwyrd of a strange history. Born outside the pact worlds and wondering the unknown for years the nearly two hundred years learning to shell wares to others while learning to cast spells from his master. Unfortunately for his group they sold magical tech to the wrong group and suffered greatly.
Egg warned his group of the possible threat even before they did the sale, but unfortuantely the leaders saw much more profit in selling to the Orc Warlord than cared about the double cross. That is when Eggs left on a junker and headed out on his won. he sold his skills here and there, as well as grabbing objects and selling them to other races as a legitimate reseller.
Eventually, he made his way to the pact worlds and has done decent work as a middleman, on top giving the Starfinder society a few nuggets of information here and there to add a few extra credits to his coffers. Still, his dealings came with a cost. He has a target on him now and even on Absalom, he is not safe. Egg now is looking for a mission to get him off the station and credits to keep him one step ahead of some very dangerous people. So he has officially accepted the offer of the Society and has come out of hiding to make it official!
Also, what are the stat changes for Ikeshti? I found one that said +2 dex +2 int, and -2 wis...
That’s the correct one:

I'm still looking into the mechanics of the Mechanic (and Starfinder in general), but I do have an alias and backstory set up! ...mostly!
Are you going drone or exocortex?
I'm planning to go with a drone, specifically a dragon one that resemble the dragon god his tribe worships. My plan is to use it as his main source of combat - if things get dicey, he runs to his dragon and mounts up. If I can afford it, I plan to purchase a flame rifle off the bat and mount it on the drone, so it actually has a breath weapon!

Cool cool cool, feeling mechanic myself so wanted to make sure to avoid stepping on toes.
