With the threats gone you check on your surroundings. The isolated grotto where the skreesire hid is dotted with piles of silvery ash. To the northwest, a low shelf of rock dams a pool of thick greenish liquid. A humanoid body in torn robes with one arm chewed off is ominously propped against the ledge. The body is wearing a symbol around its neck depicting a black hole with a red center.

Boreal stalks over to Manteca.
"What the <expletive deleted> are you playing at?" Boreal roars at the small Shirren as she crosses the ground between them. The muscles along her arms ripple beneath her scales, hands clenched.

Manteca takes a step back in confusion before his epiphany kicks in. "Oh! The thing with the amulet - yes, well, I heard a voice that told me to find it, and I lost all will to resist, and then I travelled to that pile of dust to root through it and then you came, but once I'd found the item in question I lost the compulsion, at which point I came back but splitting the group as the compulsion made me do seemed to have emboldened the young of the species - thank you, EH-RK, by the way, for your aid there. Oooh, I should go look at that amulet again!" Manteca turns and runs back to retrieve the amulet he dropped.

"Ya, well," pipes Imagine, wringing the blood out of her hair. "Maybe the next time someone runs off can everyone else please stay next to the distractingly cute mystic so we can cut down on unconscious face-plants by 100%?"
That done she takes time to examine the amulets.
