The group moves the camp some distance away to not give it away by the vast destruction and the corpses. Also because of the stink.
The rest of the night passes without further interruptions. After Darius finished his morning prayers, everyone is blessed by him with the ability to turn into a cloud, that is roughly colored like the clothes one is wearing.
On the plus side, moving is really fast that way. The drawback is, that magical thunderstorms ravage over the area, the worst where the Whispering Tyrant is buried. Which makes it necessary to fly around that area.
In the late afternoon the group reaches Caliphas.

Brother Grergof Varsk |

Grergof says to the count:
Lets get you to a safe place.
Then he looks at the others,
We also need to figure out how to get to the Gallowspire, that thunderstorm and teleport bock makes a quick travel a problem.
It almost seems like we need to ride there directly assuming the storm isn't a problem.

Abomentolor Goblinburner |

"So far the flying worked. Maybe we can't fly directly to that tower. But we can get close, can't we?" Abometolor objects. Besides not liking walking he doesn't like horses.

Foxy Quickpaw |

A little asking around reveals the way to a small temple of Sarenrae in Caliphas. It's really small. It is a large room on the top floor of a three story city house with a roof terrace, taken care of by a claric and two adepts. As you knock on the door, the cleric, wearing the full regalia, opens the door. "Greetings - it is always a pleasure to meet a fellow saraenite. What brings you to my door."

Brother Grergof Varsk |

Can we come inside to talk?
Once they come inside Grergof explains the situation.
As he finishes he says:
So as you can see we need a safe place for the count to stay for a few days while we deal with the Necromancers. Do you think you can find a place that would work?

Brother Grergof Varsk |

Gergorf turns to the others and the Count.
What do you all think? A few days of humble living and reflection, while we make sure the threat to you is as eliminated as we can?
I doubt anyone would think to look for you has an adept here.
Does anyone have a better suggestion?

Foxy Quickpaw |

The count agrees to the solution and is brought to another room to put on his disguise. The priest asks "Please say hello again, once you are done with the threat."
"How long do you think it will take to end the danger for the count? Do you have a way to inform us, in case it takes longer?"
Shopping?

Lini, owner of Everything Magic |

With all things regarding the count clarified for now, the party visits the local branch of Lini's magic shop to drop off the large pile of useless stuff collected over weeks to turn it into cash.
"You for sure don't want to take all these coins with you, do you? See something endearing around here, or got something in mind, I could bring you?"

Abomentolor Goblinburner |

"I'll take that lesser quicken metamagic rod, and a bag of holding to put all the cash in, thank you. And these trinkets." Abomentolor grabs some small items from the spell component shelf and waits to get the bag with the change and the rod handed over.
"I'm done shopping. Do you want to spend some of that money at the most expensive hotel in town, or want to come to my place"

Abomentolor Goblinburner |

Showoff time.
Outside Lini's store Abomentolor does some magic and a shimmering passage appears four feet wide and eight feet high. "Come into our fancy dwelling place." He steps through and disappears from sight.
Inside waits a magnificent foyer with numerous chambers beyond. The atmosphere is clean, fresh, and warm. A staff of near-transparent liveried servants waits to serve the guests.
A passage leads to the dining room where a huge table is set up for a nine course menu with the servants waiting to seat the guests and to start serving the food.

Brother Grergof Varsk |

Grergof steps in and looks around.
Ummm, Where did this all come from?
After the nature of the mansion is explained, Grergof considers.
Well, this could be very useful.... hmmm, while I am not one to encourage great excesses in living, I think given what we face ahead an exception should be made.
Do you mind if we refresh ourselves a bit before dinner?. Assuming the others agree he cleans himself up, and dresses nicely in the clothes he bought for the hunting lodge.
Then he returns and as dinner starts raises his glass.
To you my companions. Your strength, dedication and courage in the face of the horrors we have seen, is truly inspiring. You have stood with me against evils of all types, and I know no matter what happens in the next few days, the Gods will judge you kindly and give you great rewards at the end of your days. For even if no one ever thanks you, know that together we have done great things. Evil has been removed from this world, the country has been saved 5 times already and many innocents are safe because of you.
In short thank you. I could ask for no better companions in this quest.

Abomentolor Goblinburner |

"I can tell you what will happen. We will kick more undead ass and at the end of the day this Whispering Way will be silenced!" Abomentolor asserts, full of himself as always.
"But I'd like to return the compliment. It's a joy to work with such a professional, front line fighter."
"And you two are also nice." he adds to Spugnoir and Darius.

Darius Redgrave __ |

Darius laughs out loud. "That's right. To our best undead smasher!"
"I'll try to do better next time. Less getting beaten up and more beating them. I got some new blessings that'll make the whispering guys s#*@ their pants!" he tells leaning over to the gnome.

Darius Redgrave __ |

Darius readies himself, but before the party returns into the cursed lands of the undead, he pays Lini's shop another visit. Luckily that is right in front of the exit of the mansion.
He buys himself a Headband of Inspiring Wisdom, a wand of death ward and some eye salve and diamond dust. Then he urges Abomentolor to buy some more diamond dust, as you can never have too much of that.
When everyone is ready he casts wind walk on everyone for fast travels.

Foxy Quickpaw |

Over Caliphas the sky is blue and a set of clouds in unreal colors flies with high speed over it. But as closer the group comes to their destination, the worse the weather gets. Dark whirling storm clouds and lightning sit like a fortress around the former city of Adorak. Flying close to the ground allows for further approach, but after a while even that isn't possible any more. A constant storm rages over the land and as a particular strong gust of wind comes along, you have a hard time keeping your footing.

Str: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15
"Hey little fella, where you going?" Darius calls after the gnome, but his words are blown away by the raging storm.

Foxy Quickpaw |

As you walk through the storm, towards the suspected center where the Gallowspire should be, you see a building collapse to the left. When the storm slows down a bit and the dust settles enough to allow for opening the eyes and looking around you find that little more than crumbling facades and foundations remain of the city. In the distance the silhouette of the tower can be anticipated but how far away is impossible to tell. You can see an impaling gardens, and massive sinkholes leaking sulfurous fumes. In front of you lies a segment of road that is cobbled with skulls, faces up.

Brother Grergof Varsk |

Str: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17
Maybe make our way as far as we can next to the road.
Grergof moves forward next to the street trying to go around the skulls. If need be he moves over the collapsed building if need be trying to break a path next to the skull road until his companions can get back on the road again.

Foxy Quickpaw |

It is possible to walk besides the road, but arduous as all the rubble from the collapsed buildings are in the way. While walking there you see something huge approaches you through the air. As is comes close fast, you recognize the outline of a dragon, but only the bones and an unholy glow within.

The swoop down of the undead dragon, probably intended for a frightening fly by or worse ends in a fulminant crash of the creature. It plows through 30 feet of the skull road, before it comes to a halt in the ruins beside about 60ft away.
The dragon then shakes off the chains, gets up and comes closer looking scary.
