Karl Sarvo
And here I thought I'd be asking a reward for killing just one goblin Karl began moving forward, his shield falling into place on his forearm and his right hand drawing the dart he had just holstered I appreciate the sacrifice you'll be making for my traveling expenses goblins, but I hope you'll forgive me if I did forget you Once in range he snapped his arm forward and flung the projectile at the goblin ahead of him.
The dart glinted in the sun as it cut through the air, on its way to meet the green skin of the goblin's skull.
Ranged Attack Roll: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
Damage Roll: 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Confirming Critical: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
Ah well, at least it hit.
Nante Once-Dead
FYI, GM? Nante is covering Krissina's flank, not standing where he was standing before the fight started. The map doesn't reflect that. Not to, y'know, be a douche or anything.
Varian Seldlon
Varian quite simply moves the most direct route to intercept the goblins on phone, doc isn't working right for me, someone or the gm please move me to intercept the goblins? I have a 30 ft move so 60ft full action move. Also I am still enlarged correct?
Krissina
Assuming we're using diagonals as 1.5 squares as per RAW, then I've moved you from L13 to V6, Varian.
Krissina moves forward a bit more cautiously this time, instinctively summoning a protective barrier around herself.
Move from M13 to S9 and cast 'Shield of Faith' on herself.
GM_Fenwick
@Nante:[ooc] I assume that you were right behind her on N13, unless I was wrong. I'll recheck the posts and make sure about your place.[ooc]
The Warchanter screams "GIANT LONGSHANKS!" and points a bony finger at Varian. Her throaty song continues as she drops her whip and pulls out a short bow and sets a crude arrow to its string. The chanting reaches a fever pitch as she fires her weapon at the fighter.
Attack Roll: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8
Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
The arrow flies wide off the mark and misses the half-elf.
It is now Jovalson's turn.
Jovalson
Jovalson moves next to Karl Q14->T11 is 20', then to T9 for 30' for standard move action and gives a Bit of Luck(sp) to Karl as his standard action.
Nante Once-Dead
Nante is initially drawn to Krissina's side, but then remembers that there is a stage in the middle of the fray. "Higher ground," he mutters, and sprints from N14 to the stage (N8), hoisting himself atop it as a full-round move action.
GM_Fenwick
The rest of the goblins giggle with glee as they see more of you approaching them. Mad with excitement, they raise their torches and rush towards the closest target.
Goblin W5 to V6.
Goblin W4 to W6.
Goblin Y6 to W7.
Goblin Y5 to U6.
Goblin Z5 to W8. (Flanking with U6)
The above five have surrounded Varian! They raise their torches in mad glee and stab them towards the fighter.
V6: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (12) - 1 = 11
W6: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (14) - 1 = 13
W7: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (10) - 1 = 9
U6: 1d20 ⇒ 16
W8: 1d20 ⇒ 18
Damage: 1d2 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Because rolling damage for all five of them is somewhat redundant...
@Varian: Yes, you are still enlarged, but only one goblin (W8) manages to hit you. The torch that makes contact with your flesh burns at the touch, but you can tell that it is relatively minor damage.
Goblin Y4 to T5. He does not attack.
We are now at the top of the initiative. It is now Karl's turn.
Karl Sarvo
It was hard to miss the flaming stick stabbing into the small giant that was Varian "I wouldn't worry, he's a big lad he can take care of himself" He said to Jovalson, as a wolfish grin came over his semi bearded face. Without another word Karl unsheathed his battle axe, moved ahead in a very composed and almost cautious manner; his shield forward and his weapon near it ready to deflect any frontal blows...then without warning Karl let out a wild vertical swing that showed how much of a lie his over-defensive approach was.
Attack Roll: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6 Attacking goblin U6, the poor moron...
Rerolling Attack Roll because of Jovalson's spell: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18 Well its quite obvious I'll be going with this one, thanks for the assist Jovalson.
Damage Roll: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
Varian Seldlon
I get an AoO due to reach
AoO: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18
damage: 1d10 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
He then attacks with blade and shield in a flurry of bashes and arcing overhanded cuts and slashes.
gladius: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21
shield: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
His shield seems to be slowing due to the awkwardness of his new size.
damage: 1d10 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
OK. 1d8 increases to 1d10 when enlarged right? And I assume that's too goblins dead. On phone so I will let you decide the death scene jaha
Varian Seldlon
any that moved more than a 5ft step. And he would attack whichever one provoked first or moved more than 5. But he only gets one.
Jovalson
Was going to post this in the discussion thread, but it's not available, so here is long OOC. Only two goblins moved more than 5', the Goblin W4 to W6 and Goblin Z5 to W8. Of course, the one at W8 hit Varian. Perhaps a 50% chance between W6 and W8 was the AoO. If that's W8, then Varian didn't take damage that round.
Varian Seldlon
I'm OK with this.
GM_Fenwick
I think that you only get one AoO per round...yeah, I just checked the PRD. I'll have your AoO hit the one that hit you.
You manage to retaliate as the torch burns your skin, lashing out your sword in a strike that sunders the goblin down the middle. Goblin W8 is dead.
It's fellows have little time to realize what has happened before your sword strikes another one, sending it down into the dirt to bleed its life out into the ground. Goblin W6 is dead.
The warchanter's eyes bulge and her chanting becomes even more guttral. She looses another arrow from her bow towards the enlarged fighter.
Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14
Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
The arrow misses.
It is now Jovalson's turn.
I'll open up the discussion thread after I post this in the event of outside-game talk.
Jovalson
Jovalson's anger rises, tired of these beasts, and he moves in for combat. Jovalson moves from T9->V8. Jovalson swings his heavy mace as hard as he can at the goblin W7.
Heavy Mace of DOOOOOM: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20
Damage if hit: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
GM_Fenwick
For lack of a better death description...
Goblin W7 is dead.
Goblin T6 moves to T7 and attacks Karl, slashing his dogslicer in an attempt to hamstring the longshank.
Attack Roll: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21
Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4.
Karl is hit!
Goblin V6 attacks Varian.
Attack Roll: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16
Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
The goblin missed!
It is now Nante's turn.
Varian Seldlon
woo. Varian is rockin socks! Lol
Nante Once-Dead
Standing on top of the stage at N8, Nante nocks another arrow, aims it at the Goblin Warchanter at X3, and lets it fly.
Attack Roll: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 3
Sarvin the Greedy
Sarvin veers away from the stage and towards the man he had enlarged(M10 to S9), he points at the other man near him (Karl) and lets forth a sickly, golden pulse from his hand which flow into the man's muscles and make the veins in his arms appear a hue of gold...
Augment to give Karl 2+ to strength
Karl Sarvo
And I appreciate that generosity, and shall not let it go to waste.
Clenching his teeth as the cold metal bit into his leg, Karl raised his shield just in time to block the continuation of that assault, causing a few sparks to be born as his shield forced the crude weapon that fell upon it to bounce back, and in turn pushed the goblin back a few steps. The former Sable Company hopeful saw this opportunity, and literally pounced on it, by jumping forward, stretching his arm back and landing with a fierce vertical slash that kicked up a wave of dust, which was soon followed by another emission of dust as Karl continued his attack with a rising diagonal swipe.
Attack Roll: 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 4 + 1 = 24 Attacking Goblin T6
Damage Roll: 1d8 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 3 + 1 = 8
Varian Seldlon
as varion notices the the goblin that seemed to be leading the others, and with most of the others dead he moves to cut the head off the snake.
He runs right past the goblin in front of him attempting to get around any of his swings.
Gladius: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27
confirm: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
aw
damage: 1d10 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15
acrobatics: 1d20 ⇒ 5
Krissina
Since it appears Varian has the Krissina rushes the last of the Goblin minions.
Move S10 to V7 and attack
Attack: 1d20 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 + 1 = 8
Bless ReRoll?: 1d20 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 1 + 1 = 21
Damage: 1d8 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 + 1 = 3
GM_Fenwick
@Varian: Hmm...the last of the rank-and-file goblins gets a swipe at you as you move past him.
Attack Roll: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10
Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
...he misses.
But the warchanter goblin gets to fire a shot at you as you move into her territory. She lines the arrow with your big body and releases the drawstring.
Attack Roll: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23
Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
The shot manages to graze you, but you are unfazed as your father's sword cleaves into the goblin and sunders her down the middle, where she falls to the ground in a pool of her own blood and gore.
@Krissina: The last goblin only has time to scream as he manages to avoid being brained by your morningstar.
Seeing that his leader is dead, he attempts to flee the area, dropping his dogslicer and fleeing from V6 to Q5. While it retreats, Krissina is able to add another attack.
Krissina, please make an Attack of Opportunity.
Jovalson
Jovalson chases after the running goblin with blood dripping from his mace. "Face me coward!"
cant move my icon from phone but i can get to the right side of the goblin with my 30' move. Please move my icon if you can, thanks.
Heavy Mace attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
Damage if hit: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Nante Once-Dead
I'm going to assume the goblin continues to run away, in which case:
Nante fires an arrow at the rapidly retreating goblin, shouting "You infernal vermin ruined my holiday!"
Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
Damage if hit: 1d8 ⇒ 2
GM_Fenwick
@Jovalson: I am tripping this afternoon, I'm sorry. I knew I shouldn't have had that coke...
Yeah. The goblin falls down in a crumpled heap. He is dead.
Congratulations! You have won another battle against the goblins!
+250 EXP to the party.
Nante Once-Dead
Nante puts his bow away and lets out a breath he he isn't aware he's been holding. "Well," he says, "That was troubling."
A thought occurs to him, and he vocalizes it. "I know the Chelaxian and Krissina, but who are the rest of you people? It seems we work well together." He dismounts the stage.
Jovalson
"Hail! I am Jovalson, a wandering cleric of Desna. Although at times I swear I'm just a chesspiece on a board for her." Jovalson walks up to Nante and shakes his hand.
Karl Sarvo
"Karl" Said the mercenary, as he appeared to be messing with the body of one of the goblins "But Chelaxian will do, like I said before we were interrupted" A splatter of blood and the sound of steel unhinging itself from flesh filled the air "I've been called worse" Karl turned around to face his companions from the previous battle; a neutral expression on his face and his right hand holding a blood soaked dart he had previously given to the corpse as gift...while it was among the living anyway.
Following his crude introduction, Karl stepped towards a fallen cloth that was most likely placed on one of the now abandoned tables or stands and began rubbing the blood out of the weapons he used "My father always said Karl treat the tools of your trade right and they probably won't fail ya" Quoted the tall man as he went about cleaning the two axes he had used in his 'dealings' with the now dead goblins.
Varian Seldlon
Varian, Varian Seldlon, at your service. I have to admit, that was the most fun I had all day! Good work all, Let us see if we can find the Sheriff, there may yet be goblin afoot. By the way, what was that god awful song? Also, does anyone know why I am so big at this time?
Varian makes his way back to the group, Looking around recognizing Jovy, and the teifling he had seen earlier.
