Sune advances on one of the rats and swings.
naginata: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 141d8 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
I have darkvision, so no miss chance, right?

GM Faelyn |

Correct, Sune, anyone with Darkvision is unaffected by the lighting conditions. Anyone with Low-Light vision will essentially treat the entire building as Dim Light conditions and would only incur a 20% Miss chance. Feel free to ask any questions about the lighting condition your PC or enemies are in. I wish I knew a good way to indicate on the map the lighting conditions, but I'm pretty limited with google image. If you folks would like an exact break down of the areas let me know and I will give you distances and the like!
Sune, did you accept or decline the Rage song? It will affect the outcome of your attack... So I'll need to know.
Red AoO vs. Juhnavi: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16
Round 1, Group 1 Recap!
Syllyn jumps on top of a nearby crate and tapping a martial rhythm (Inspire Rage). Juhnavi rushes towards a better position, causing one of the rats to snap at her. The rat's teeth bite down on her boot, but fail to penetrate her armor. Sune rushes forward and brings her naginata down upon the diseased creature!
Just waiting to hear back from Sune. It's going to change the way the rest of this round plays out. Sorry on the delay folks!

GM Faelyn |

No worries, Sune!
Round 1, Group 1 Recap
Sune's strike splits the diseased creature into two pieces! Foul smelling blood splatters on Juhnavi and the nearby crates! (No mechanical effect, just for flair!)
Round 1, Group 2 Actions!
One rat steps up to Juhnavi and nips her on the thigh! While the bite is not necessarily that damaging, she feels a strange burning around the wound. The other rat rushes toward Syllyn, using the side of the box to bite him hard upon the calf. Unlike Juhnavi's bite, this rat opens up a rather nasty gash in the nagaji's leg! He likewise feels a strange burning sensation around his wound...

Golangar and Rerois are up!
For Concealment miss chances, I always go with low is bad and high is good. And yes, I initially forgot to roll those...

Nasty varmit.
Fort Save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22

GM Faelyn |

Rerois, don't forget you're Movement rate is only 20' with your armor. So you could still make that position, but you would not be able to attack. Since you missed, it won't really chance much, but just something to remember. I went ahead and moved your icon into the position you requested. You will be able to attack the following round!
Round 1, Group 2 Recap
Rerois rushes into the dimly lit warehouse at the sounds of combat and moves into an advantageous position near Juhnavi. Golangar fires off a bolt of force, which slams into the nearby rat, eliciting a squeak of pain from the creature, but it still fights on.
Round 2, Group 1 Actions
Juhnavi - 12/13
Syllyn - 6/10
Green - 5/5
Blue - 2/5

Not at all pleased with the way the rodent took a chunk out of his leg, Syllyn drops to the floor before taking a swipe at his next meal. He is getting a +1 from inspired rage and will use another round of performance, though he does not have to because he does have lingering. But what the heck, he has too many rounds to use up anyway.

Doh! Shows how often I play heavy-armored martials. I spent all that time looking up what action it was to light a torch, but forgot about the speed.

Round 2, Group 1 Recap
Syllyn slices the dire rats into tiny pieces as blood and bits of furry flesh fly in all directions! Sune also dispatches the remaining dire rat with a little less gusto than her nagaji comrade.
Combat Over!
Perched in the middle of the hole, teetering on split planks, sits a large crate stamped with three crows arranged in a triangle—the very crate the PCs have come to find. Handholds cut into the stout wooden crate ring the rim. Other barrels, boxes, and crates sit stacked along the walls of the warehouse. Just inside the door sits a handful of crates and kegs of beer. Most of these smaller crates and barrels contain foodstuffs in various states of freshness. Some crates reek of rot. Stacks of simple coffins sit against the east wall. The rest of the crates stacked along the north and south walls contain simple sundries including, but not limited to beer, blocks of clay, coffee, coils of rope, dried fish, lead ingots, nails, nets, raw cotton, rough wool, spare sails, timber planks, various pulleys and tools, and cheap weapons. A crane, used for loading and unloading boats, clings to a rail running the length of the warehouse, hanging 5 feet below the high ceiling, and can slide out to extend past the loading doors along the west wall.
How would you like to proceed?

![]() |

I presume the crate is heavier than mage hand can lift?
-Posted with Wayfinder

![]() |

The first thing Syllyn does is collect the fresh meat for supper. But wait, he forgot a bag!
"Anyone have a game bag? Hate to pass up a free meal."

GM Faelyn |

Correct Juhnavi. By your best estimate of the size of the crate it likely weighs over 100 pounds. If not more depending on the contents...

![]() |

"Better not. They don't look healthy. If you want rats, there's a fine Dwarven grocery on Seventh Street."
-Posted with Wayfinder

![]() |

"I suppose you're right, though you would be surprised what you can do if you are a good cook. Some of the most poisonous creatures make exotic meals. Unfortunately, I'm not... Anyway, not exactly a free meal if you you're dealing with a dwarf. So, anyone know how to rig up something to get at the box without putting any weight on the planks? One bad move on our part and the box belongs to the water."

Sune's hair billows around her, despite an absence of wind, a reminder of her other-worldly heritage.
"Let's try the crane. Lower me down over the crates. Even if I fall, I won't be hurt," she says.

GM Faelyn |

There is indeed a row boat tied out front. And Sune could easily be lowered down with the crane.

![]() |

Syllyn takes a look at the crane and then at the boat, neither of which he has any experience with.
Let me know if I can help

![]() |

"Say, anyone have any healing abilities?"
I'm thinking we are all new characters and no clerics. Am I right?

![]() |

We had a cleric. Maybe there'll be some healing potions in the box.
-Posted with Wayfinder

![]() |

I'll do it, but I was waiting to see if anyone had a skill like profession:sailor. He did offer to help.
"I'll go man the boat, though I've never actually piloted one before. Unless someone else knows how to use one of these things?"
After untying it he gets in the boat, a little surprised at how unstable the contraption is, and obviously a little unsure of his footing, grasping the edges as he goes. Plopping himself down on the seat looking forward, he attempts to row facing in the wrong direction, eventually making his way to the vicinity under the hole. If the planks collapse there is a pretty good chance the debris will fall at least partially on him.

![]() |

Juhnavi will join Syllyn in the boat.

"I could probably work the crane, one moment." Rerois starts poking at the controls.
Take 10 on Knowledge (engineering), if needed.

GM Faelyn |

Back from vacation!
Utilizing the crane and the boat, the group of Pathfinder recruits are able to successfully remove the box from its precarious positioning. Sune has no difficulty in maintaining her grip on the box as she is moved away to a safe location. The rest of the group gather around the box as they find a tool to break the seal... Inside they find...
The rescued crate holds a smaller mahogany box inside, which contains five books and a few loose sheets of paper in a leather folder. The titles and subjects seem completely unrelated to each other: Practical Thaumaturgy In Accordance with Creation, Geographic Anomalies of the Inner Sea, Under Kaer Maga: A Trial and Travel, Physiology of Dragons: An Illustrated Reference, Lost Sarusan. The leather folder contains cargo manifestos, warehouse inventories, and other financial logs from a dozen different merchant houses and trade guilds.
The crate also contains 10 sets of masterwork thieves’ tools, three flasks of alchemist’s fire, a flask of acid, a dozen jars of various inks, a footprint book*, adamantine weapon blanch*, three bags of powder*, a deck of marked cards*, and two sets of average loaded dice*.

![]() |

"Interesting haul," Juhnavi says after they return to the warehouse from their short voyage in the rowboat. "No potions, though. We'd better stop by a temple on the way back."
Can we go to a temple and pay spellcasting cost for healing the wounded?

GM Faelyn |

I'm perfectly fine with that.

![]() |

"Ahhh. A book about dragons! Now that sounds quite intriguing to me. May I take a look?"
Upon receiving the book, he will read what is inside.

![]() |

Sune takes a vial of acid as they look through the contents of the crate.
"Very well...we have found the items. [b]"Let us take what he wanted, then get on with the next task! We don't have time to linger here!"

GM Faelyn |

The group gathers up the items and proceeds back to Gauril. He greets them with another sly smile. This time they spot another man watching them from the doorway of the backroom. "Thank you very much, Pathfinders. You have done a fantastic job!"

![]() |

Sune, as always, looks incredibly impatient.
"We have yet to visit the Temple of the Shining Star. We must make haste, lest they close before we obtain our task!" she says, moving toward that section of town without waiting for the others.

![]() |

"Sune, would you mind if we make a quick stop at a temple so that I may get healed?"

![]() |

"Hmm, that's right, our next stop is a temple. Good point."
-Posted with Wayfinder

![]() |

"Let's go then."

GM Faelyn |

Arriving at the Temple of the Shining Star, you are immediately directed to Ollysta Zadrian. This paladin of Sarenrae is young in her years, but holds herself with the poise of a queen and warrior simultaneously. As she notices the PCs’ arrival, she strides forward, addressing the group in a strong voice.
“Thank the light of Sarenrae you have arrived! I knew Ambrus would come through for us in the Silver Crusade. I desperately need you to bring medicine to an orphanage and let me know if the headmistress, Gilga Baltwin, is deserving of our charity. Since our quest began, the needy have clamored for our aid, and I suspect some are abusing our generosity. It may sound cruel, but there are plenty of dishonest people out in the world eager for easy gold.
“Do you know of the Silver Crusade? After discovering so many factions splintered the Society, a number of us banded together to proliferate the cause of charity and kindness using the Society’s resources. As it is said, ‘The Dawn brings new light’ and I’ve made it my life’s work to use our recent darkness to bring a new light to the world and to the Pathfinder Society. I apologize for straying off point. Will you bring this parcel of medicine to Auntie Baltwin’s Home for Recovery in the Eastgate district?”

![]() |

"So you need us to investigate to see if she's not treating the orphans well, or misusing the funds you're sending her?"
-Posted with Wayfinder

GM Faelyn |

"Mostly to ensure she is not misusing the medicine; however, if you uncover anything that indicates she is mistreating the orphans I would ask that you report that back to me directly. I hope that is not the case, as I have heard that Auntie Baltwin has done a great justice for these orphans and takes good care of them. I would be saddened to hear otherwise."

![]() |

"Any who would abuse orphans is incredibly shameful. We will investigate immediately."

![]() |

They have institutions here to take care of orphans? What a concept! These humans are so odd.

GM Faelyn |

Ollysta nods with a smile. "Thank you, Recruits." She hands them a package. "Whenever you are ready, I wish you speed in your quest."
