Round 2, Group 1 Recap

Golangar slings another bolt of his tangible darkness, but it once again merely splats against the wall. Sune steps up and swings in the general location of the imp, but in her anger she just misses the little creature; apparent by the yelp of surprise she hears coming from the devil.

Round 2, Group 2 is up!

Sune suddenly hears the rushing of wings and feels a sharp prick on her arm as the imp appears next to her, his stinger jabbed into her left arm. "Hah! Happy now?!"

Attack Sune: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21
Stinger Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 1 Sune, please roll a Fort Save DC13 vs. Poison.

Rerois steps up to the shattered glass, Syllen's pulsing drumbeat amplifying his anger at the misbehaving fiend. He reaches out, looking to grab the tiny devil and deliver its just punishment.

Hope the concealment goes my way. If so, both me and the imp are grappled.

Grappled:
Grappled creatures cannot move and take a –4 penalty to Dexterity. A grappled creature takes a –2 penalty on all attack rolls and combat maneuver checks, except those made to grapple or escape a grapple. In addition, grappled creatures can take no action that requires two hands to perform. A grappled character who attempts to cast a spell or use a spell-like ability must make a DC 15+ spell level concentration check, or lose the spell. Grappled creatures cannot make attacks of opportunity.

Syllyn attempts to bat the box away from the imp, striking the box soundly and eliciting a yelp of surprise from the little; however, it is just barely able to maintain its hold on the box! Juhnvai and Neseth both attempt their own disarming, but are likewise unsuccessful. Rerois steps up and grabs hold of the imp, causing the little creature to yelp. "Put me down, you oaf!" It hisses at him...

Imp and Rerois gain the Grappled Condition.

Sune delights in finally being able to attack the impudent little minion; however, her pole arm just barely misses! Golangar attempts to intimidate the imp; however, he only succeeds at making it laugh at him.

Syllyn attempts to avoid Rerois with holding onto the imp, but seems to simply get in the way! All the while, Juhnavi uses the distraction to lean forward and knock the box free from the astonished imp's hands! It clatters to the floor near her feet and she immediately scoops it up.

The imp cries out in defeat. "No!" He tries to pull away from the large man, but simply slumps in Rerois' arms. "Yes, you’ve bested me, but I don’t wish to leave so soon. Take the blasted box, and tell Mistress Dralneen I deserve what comes my way."

Without waiting to discuss things further, she takes the box and strides out the door.

"Thank you," she says to the Paracountess, slightly concerned she may have been too abrupt previously.

"I believe we are finished here."

Syllyn is tempted to give the imp a boot for embarrassing him, but... well that's what imps do. And then there's the possibility that he might miss and embarrass himself further.

Zarta greets the Pathfinder recruits with a cunning smile as they exit her bedroom, box and imp in tow. "My heroes." she adds sweetly. She levels a look at the imp and removes a pair of silver shackles from her desk, clasping them around the imp's tiny wrists and takes him from Reois. "Kreuvus, what am I to do with you?" The imp hangs its head without another word as he is set on top of the desk.

"I hope you all enjoyed the view from in there. You are all welcome to spend as much time in there as you like. I always enjoy private company." Her gaze lingers on Rerois particularly as she speaks. "Unfortunately, knowing Ambrus I am sure you all have a lengthy list of tasks to complete before the days end. You can all feel free to return to my bedchambers any time." She winks and flashes a carnal grin. "Until, farewell Pathfinders. I ache for the moment when we get to see each other again."

Sorry for the delay folks, had to respond to a very nasty vehicle crash involving a semi-truck on fire. We had to shut down one of our highways for several hours.

The group of recruits arrives at Salhar's opulent mansion without too much delay. As you reach the tall, wrought-iron gate, you are greeted by a guard who seems to be expecting you. "Please, follow me." He unlocks the gate, ushers you through the gate and through the immaculate lawn, and escorts you all to the front door.

Once inside, a servant approaches. "My master sends his most humble apologies as he will not be able to meet with you personally. He has been called away on important Council business; however, he asks that you speak with his most trusted advisor; the honorable Amenoephus. If you will please accompany me." The servant escorts the group down well-decorated hallways that open up on either sides into expansive, lavishly decorated rooms.

After a few minutes, the group arrives at a simple study near the end of a long hallway. Inside, a tan-skinned old man sits behind a desk flipping through pages in a large tome. Scraps of paper jut from the book marking over two dozen different places. As the group approaches the open door, the wise sage silently gestures the PCs into the study with one thin hand, while closing the tome with the other after finishing what he was reading. Once the PCs are all inside the study, he addresses the group.

"Good day to you, Pathfinders. I am Amenopheus, the Sapphire Sage, advisor to Master Salhar. I understand you were sent here to discuss archaeological permissions. Knowing this was coming, I spoke with Master Salhar at length on the subject and have this to say.

Since Osirion was reopened to exploration a decade ago, adventurers, historians, and treasure-seekers flock to my country by the hundreds, perhaps thousands. While most families with ancestral burial vaults maintain guards and keep their sites out of the hands of casual thieves, not all families have the wealth or power to restrict everyone, and as we all know, not every defense is perfectly secure. Unscrupulous tomb robbers and maligned merchant organizations cause Osirion to bleed relics into the Inner Sea—something the descendents of Ancient Osirion cannot afford. We Osiriani have thousands of years of rich history coursing through our veins, and while that power has been out of focus in recent years, we are content to wait, knowing our enemies will wear themselves down. As they fall into arrogance, folly, or greed, we wait for our return to power, knowing we bear the riches of our ancestors at our feet.

Master Salhar remains impressed by the Pathfinder Society, orating in their favor a handful of times in front of Absalom’s Grand Council, in fact. Due to previous relationships between him and the Society, Master Salhar has agreed to grant permission to the Pathfinder Society to explore his family’s vaults below Sothis. The only thing he requires is that you retrieve the map of the vaults from his own vault here. The servant will lead you to the basement and show you the room." The Sapphire Sage’s eyes twinkle as he smirks knowingly, then he turns back to reading his book as though he had never been disturbed.

Pathfinders often find themselves in positions where they do not know much about a location they are tasked with exploring. That is part of the excitement. Wouldn't you agree?" His gaze turns to Juhnavi, and shares a knowing look with the young woman. "I suppose that is entirely up to the Society and your superiors, dear. If you can complete Master Salhar's request and retrieve the map, then perhaps your accomplishments will shine favorably upon you. The future is difficult to predict, though some may try hard to do so than others."

After leaving Amenopheus’ study, the servant brings the group back through the spacious estate, leading them down sturdy stone steps into the cool basement. "I have not. I do not know anything beyond my instructions to escort you to the Vaults." Down a hallway, after a couple turns, the party ends up at a plain wooden door. The servant opens the door, gesturing to the room with a bow, and waits silently for you all to enter.

A plain stone room contains three chests: a copper-banded chest of smooth, dark wood; a red lacquered chest; and what looks to be a cube of solid steel. Behind the chests sits a low table holding a clear glass jar half full of liquid and a covered wicker basket.
