Ok, so everyone vote on a scenario to run first, or however you guys want to do it, and we'll get started!
qwerty1971 |
I am good with either scenario for the first one. 7-11 means either a Pala-priest (7), a gun-ranger (9) or a swashbuckler (7). Nothing available in the 10-11 range just yet.
Rhuul Irontoe |
Bard-8 here, dwarf and pretty far off the optimisation path.
Many thanks for running.
I'm happy with either.
I'm Hiding In Your Closet |
I don't care about which one either, and also can't do higher-Tier than 7-8 (it looks like my Witch is about to finally reach level 10, but he's busy with his present adventure's climax right now, and it looks like we'll be doing lower-Tier regardless).
For 7-8, I have a Monk, an Alchemist, an aspiring Arcane Archer, or an Illusionist (which I'm feeling partial to at the moment, but I might choose someone else if the adventure somehow favors Grand Lodge, Cheliax/Dark Archives, or Andoran/Liberty's Edge characters).
GM Evil |
Ok, so out of those that expressed interest, we have 4-5 who don't care, 1 for for Lyrics, and 1 for Lost at Bitter End.
I'm willing to run both. I would rather do 1 at a time, but if the demand is high enough I can do both concurrently. I'm only running the Special currently, so 3 tables isn't too much. I would like to get them done quickly, though, as I have a lot of games coming up in the next month/month and half-ish.
So, let's try to commit to at least 1 post a day for players, and as the GM I'll post twice a day to make sure things stay moving.
Rhuul Irontoe |
That sounds good. I have a small preference to doing them in sequence, as that way I get to do both, but happy to take what I can get.
RyckyRych |
OK, Bizzle is 10.2 so I want to get him in a game. Since it looks like this one is hoping for a low tier, I'll hold off Bizzle for now. GM Lari wants to play Lyrics and has a 10, so I'll play Bizzle in that one.
I have plenty of PCs to play Lost at a lower tier. As far as which one we play first it doesn't matter to me. GM Lari can start with his 10 now so we could do that one first or do both at the same time, its all gravy to me.
EDIT : I see that one wants to play them in order and Lari's 8th would be available on Sunday so we could do Lost first due to that. I can bring a 9th level Magus for that one and we should still be able to play low-tier that way.
GM Evil |
We could Lost first and play low tier, and then do Lyrics after that at high tier. I think that would work out. What does everyone else think?

I concur
GM Evil |
Ok, so we will do Lost first, and then I will make sure to hold a spot for GM Lari when we do lyrics.
Does anyone have an objection, concern, or alternate need?

Does anyone have an objection, concern, or alternate need?
I'm a tiny bit confused by that past exchange, but I'll assume everything's fine.
The one issue I have is the matter of "geek sudoku," as I've heard it called. I see we've got a Magus and a Bard, is anyone else playing a Wizard or Sorcerer? So long as not, I think I'll be playing my Illusionist (I just remembered the Alchemist I mentioned is already in a game right now :P).

Give me a day or two and I will begin the game. GM Lari, I will make sure to send you a PM in the final act and make sure you get in.
Everyone else, how does beginning Friday sound? That will give me time to get the map pack put together on slides and read the scenario ahead. I'll get the beginning info dump and intro posts up probably around Friday so we can start the good stuff around Monday. Go ahead and dot and do character intros and all that. You're all meeting up in The Laughing Lizard Inn for mustering and to be sent to the Venture Captain for your mission briefing.

Sorry for the delay in getting started. I had some real life games that took way more time than I liked, and it ate into my time to catch up online. Pack that on top of taking the kids to the park today and having my cousin and her kid staying with us this weekend I've been insanely busy.
I'll have the game started tomorrow and we'll get rolling then!
Rhuul Irontoe |
Kids are important.
"Isn't your daughter more important than playing on the computer." is a refrain I get quite often. Probably too often, must be a sign that actually I should be playing with her more. Bad me.
Maldoc Tisbane |
When I was playing online poker the answer would have been "No! Leave me be, woman!" but I didn't have a daughter. :)
In all seriousness I do have a son but I learned way back when that you do need to find a balance. When you do it enhances all of the activities involved. I'm glad I learned that one early on.
Now things are different. Some of you may have been GMing games in the summer so you would know that my wife passed away so I've lost that. The kid is 20 now but he still lives with me so we make time to do stuff, but for the most part I'm pretty free with my online presence nowadays.
In other words, you just don't know how much time you have left until its taken away. Do it while you can.
Rhuul Irontoe |
I'm going to get a bane addition to my battleaxe. Tossing up between undead and evil outsiders. Any thoughts as to which may be better (obviously in general at high level, not this scenario in particular)
Rhuul Irontoe |
Well he has had quite a few recent run-ins with Demons and Divs, so outsider(evil) is a very likely candidate. I've not done a lot of higher level content though, so if suddenly outsiders drop away, I'd not want to waste a vast amount of money on something not going to get used a whole lot.
Sihir Aneh |
There's no reason to think they will, though, none whatsoever. You're talking about the personal staff of the gods here, only Dragons and some Undead, Aberrations, and Magical Beasts could possibly rival them for high-level appropriateness!
Korai Shardwing |
Note: bit of time meaning I'm good to start tomorrow. I just feel bad for my other game I'm running that I've been struggling to find time to update while at a computer capable of having the adventure open while I type... GMing by phone is never good.
GM Evil |
Debug, what game are you running, and how far along are you? I could step in and finish it out for you if you want, I know the struggle of phone GM'ing. I had to do that for a few of my games when I first started pbp GM'ing.
Korai Shardwing |
I haven't actually fallen behind yet in any of them, but my post quality hasn't been quite what I'd like, and if I don't take the time to move relevant statblocks somewhere accessible I probably will. I should be able to catch up without any issues tonight though, but just to make things easier, if you and Rycky wouldn't mind murdering the hell out of a couple of [REDACTED]s so I don't have to think about tactics that'd be great.
Sihir Aneh |
I see you're a Mysterious Stranger, Korai - how's that working out for you? I've thought about it a few times, but I've always been kept at bay by the loss of Quick Clear. I tried playing it at 1st level for a tiny bit, but I kept misfiring.
GM Evil |
Oh wait, you're running the game that Takkit is in! Well, I would murder hell out of a few [redacted] but the dice roller thinks I insulted its mother or something...
Korai Shardwing |
I'm really a rogue. Mysterious stranger is for flair more than anything. To be honest I rarely ever actually fire the gun... I usually just threaten people with it. In fact, this character will get along great with Sihir. I'll demoralize and sicken them so you can nail them with a phantasmal killer. His goal is that when he hits level 11 he'll take quick shot so he can open combat by frightening some poor fool. I'll grab his paper sheet when I get home so I can update him. I think I've got one piece of retraining that isn't present on the profile sheet.
If you are interested in making a Mysterious Stranger that actually shoots people I recommend dabbling in Picaroon.

Are they Society-legal? Additional Resources tends to put the kibosh on gun-wielding Archetypes that aren't actual Gunslingers.
Korai Shardwing |
So, just double checking since it seems as though there were some ins and outs in the lineup. Current party as I understand it is as follows:
Sihir (Wizard)
Wyrgan (Warpriest)
Rhuul (Bard)
Maldoc (Magus)
Korai (Me, Rogue)
I'm quite familiar with Sihir and Wyrgan having GM'd for both of those characters in the past, although I'm sure they've gotten some new tricks since then, but it looks like I'll be playing the role of canary in the coalmine and bad cop to Rhuul's good cop?
Wyrgan Goodheart |
I think Wyrgan is still the same as when you saved the "Judge a Soul" series, he may be a bit better as a Warpriest now though.
GM Evil |
Alright everyone, I'm back and in the process of catching up all of my games and updating!
Sihir Aneh |
Nota Bene: All allies within 30 feet of me gain a +2 bonus to saving throws versus death effects, and +4 virtual Constitution for the purpose of determining your threshold of death by hit point loss.
Sihir Aneh |
Korai gets his back against the wall in the ally way and demonstrates his repertoire of Aklo profanity.
"@&%#! That's gonna leave a mark..."
Is Korai by any chance voiced by Gilbert Gottfried?

I had another pretty bad wifi outage the last couple of days. I'm seriously considering dropping my current provider and getting a new one. Catching everything up now.
