Round 3 Grappled?, Inquisitor's Direction HP: 31 - 6 - 5 - 6 - 6 - 7 = 1 STR: 16 - 4 = 12
Dvalin screams in pain before entering a tranquil, reflective state, forgoing all actions this round to give Swayaah haste for one round using Inquisitor's Direction ...
Make it count Swayaah ... I am almost done.

![]() |

Oh geez, now Dvalin has stat damage? That's 5 for 6 so far.
For once Swayaah shuts up as she sees the thing claw into Dvalin.
Claw 1, Power Attack: 1d20 + 7 - 1 ⇒ (14) + 7 - 1 = 20
Damage: 1d6 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 3 + 2 = 11
Claw 2, Power Attack: 1d20 + 7 - 1 ⇒ (6) + 7 - 1 = 12
Damage: 1d6 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 3 + 2 = 7
Her first claw shreds away some of the plant's flesh, but her second claw misses.

![]() |

Yeah ... Dvalin is pretty banged up at this point ... stat damage to charisma, wisdom and strength. Looks like Dvalin is ahead of Swayaah in initiative ... so how about around round of those pretty claws :-)

EndlessForms |

Neither of Kalendir's arrows is able to pierce the hide of the alien monster! Awen hits with one arrows but it doesn't seem wholly effective at hurting the creature. Swayaah tries to dig her claws in but the mi-go ducks them. The creature clicks happily seeing how hurt Dvalin is. It releases him only to release a foul energy on the whole party.
negative energy: 2d6 ⇒ (4, 4) = 8
DC 13 Will save for half; hits everyone
Initiative:
1. The Visitant (27 dmg)
2. Kalendir, Dvalin, Swayaah, and Awen
You guys are up!

Will Save DC 13: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4 +2 if it's evil
Swayaah shudders as the energy withers her away.
Claw 1, Power Attack: 1d20 + 7 - 1 ⇒ (12) + 7 - 1 = 18
Damage: 1d6 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 3 + 2 = 10
Claw 2, Power Attack: 1d20 + 7 - 1 ⇒ (16) + 7 - 1 = 22
Damage: 1d6 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 3 + 2 = 11
Swayaah uses a swift action to pull out her wand of cure light wounds with her tail. "Dvalin, take it if you need it!"

![]() |

Will save: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17
HP 35/39
Kalendir continues to blindly fire arrows.
Arrow 1: 1d20 + 11 + 1 - 2 - 2 ⇒ (2) + 11 + 1 - 2 - 2 = 10
Damage: 1d8 + 2 + 1 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 2 + 1 + 4 = 14
Arrow 2: 1d20 + 11 + 1 - 2 - 2 ⇒ (6) + 11 + 1 - 2 - 2 = 14
Damage: 1d8 + 2 + 1 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 2 + 1 + 4 = 12
+1 Attack / Damage from point Blank Shot
Precise shot to eliminate -4 modifier for shooting into melee
-2 modifier for rapid shot to fire an extra arrow
Weapon Focus and Deadly Aim -2/+4

Holy Gorum ... a 20 missed? We are in deep here :-( Swayaah should have been hasted last round; does she get another round of attacks?
Will DC 13: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25
HP: 1 - 4 = -3
Stablize DC 13: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20
Dvalin blacks out as the negative energy washes over the party ... but does not appear to be getting any worse.

![]() |

Crap.. in all the mess of flinging goo, I forgot about the DR.
Will save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16 4 dmg
Seeing his arrow just about bounce off of the thing reminds Awen of the resistances of such creatures. With a frustrated growl, he drops his bow and grabs his sword, cursing himself for not being effective.
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21
Damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
but his growl turns to a satisfied grunt as alien flesh parts beneath his sword.
Dvalin, hang in there. I dont know who else can use wands here, but if nothing else, I can pour a few potions down your throat to get up upright again.

Swayaah's extra attack:
Claw Power Attack: 1d20 + 7 - 1 ⇒ (14) + 7 - 1 = 20
Damage: 1d6 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 3 + 2 = 8
One of Swayaah's claws catches on the alien flesh and cuts through! Dvalin succumbs to his wounds and Kalendir's arrows fly wide. Awen hacks with his sword but the alien dodges his blow!
The mi-go rears up and goes after Swayaah!
claw: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (2) + 14 = 16
damage: 1d4 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
grab: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (19) + 15 = 34
claw: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (13) + 14 = 27
damage: 1d4 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
grab: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (3) + 15 = 18
claw: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (11) + 14 = 25
damage: 1d4 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
grab: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (11) + 15 = 26
claw: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (19) + 14 = 33
damage: 1d4 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
grab: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (14) + 15 = 29
If Swayaah drops, it will switch its remaining attacks to Awen.
If one of those grabbed you, you take 2d6 ⇒ (6, 5) = 11 precision damage and its claws swifty and painfully perform a quick surgical operation to clip some of your tendons, dealing you 1d4 ⇒ 2 Strength damage (DC 18 Fort save to negate)
Initiative:
1. The Visitant (38 dmg)
2. Kalendir, Dvalin, Swayaah, and Awen
You guys are up!

Welp, time to get wrecked! Luckily everyone can cast cure light wounds, so if we survive use my wand. Also this thing has AC 22+... ruh-roh Raggy
Swayaah gets shredded by the first claw.
Fort Save DC 18: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21
At least her tendons survived!
Con check DC 14: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (7) + 0 = 7
Swayaah drops and starts bleeding out.
Swayaah absorbed 1 claw. The others are heading in Awen's direction.

![]() |

Heal with wand? Me and Awen grab you two and heal / regroup in another chamber? Continue to fire arrows? This is not looking good guys. What do you think?

![]() |

umm yea.. because I am now grappled with 2 hp left... this is not good at all..

I think Awen's going to drop if the 3 claws + precision damage kicks in. Unless you think you're about to kill it this round, you'd better run. Maybe it's stupid enough that you can kite it.
If we can pool resources after this, Swayaah will chip in as much money or Prestige as she can to bail you out of here.

GM does thing thing grapple, eviscerate, and release? Or is it still holding me? If its not holding me, I may be able to take a 5ft step back and get some potions in me..
Swayaah, counting the precision, I take 21 pts. add in the 4 from the negative energy and that puts me at +2.. so I am still on my feet, depending on what the GM rules. Not sure what the grab is against, but it doesnt really matter, as I cant roll high enough to beat a 26; much less a 29. Soooo... Ideas?
Btw, I have a wand CLW and 4 potions...

![]() |

Hmm, if both of you are alive, try to drag us out. Maybe this guy will leave us alone if we leave them alone? Maybe we just broke into his lab and won't bother us if we leave the lab.
Cause we clearly can't beat this guy unless he's near death and Kalendir's aim is true.

![]() |

Looking back, about the only weapons that have been able to do real damage with a single whack is Swayaah's earthbreaker and Dvalin's greatsword.. but picking either of them up gives an AOO

![]() |

Seeing his friends fall to the ground bleeding Kalendir begins to cry as he runs from the room screaming. Those not nice hugs!
Double move. Try to get some distance on it.

You know.. I hate going back over the hard copy of your character sheet and realizing you screwed up and forgot to type something into the online version. I forgot that I am able to cast darkness 1/day @lvl. Gm, I can supply you with a picture or scan of my actual char sheet to verify if you wish. I've just never had to use it so I forgot about it. I am thinking that if I am not grappled, I can drop this area into darkness, acro out of range, and then maybe come back for either swayaah or dvalin. Opinions?

@Awen: it is still holding you. Grab is essentially grapple, so the grab check is against your CMD.
Technically releasing a grapple is a free action so it could have been claw-grab-sneak attack/ability damage-release and then repeat for each claw, but I was trying to make it a little easier. This encounter is still a notorious TPK-er even when I hold my punches though, apparently.
Casting while grappled is difficult and besides, from your knowledge checks earlier you know that this thing has blindsight so the darkness wouldn't even hinder it at all.

![]() |

That's a good idea, unless it has Darkvision. You can use it as a distraction to hide, maybe and then drag Dvalin out of there as it's distracted.
I can afford the PP to have an expedition team find me and raise me (I think that's 9 PP total.

Fort save: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18Well, thats one good thing..
Awen screams in pain as he is dealt a horrendous series of blows, damn near killing him. His tail grabs a potion from his belt, but he cant reach it, locked in mortal combat. Swift action he barely manages to keep his sword, as he hangs there waiting to be released.
Do not have any clue what else to do, but hang here. I think that this does give me a readied action should I be released alive..

EndlessForms |

claw: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (3) + 14 = 17
damage: 1d4 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
grab: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (5) + 15 = 20
claw: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (18) + 14 = 32
damage: 1d4 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
grab: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (3) + 15 = 18
The mi-go releases Awen for a moment, only to claw him and drop him to the ground!
Ok, I think we'll call that out-of-combat I guess. It will finish you guys off, although Kalendir gets to run away at least.
I will have to work up exactly how much gold you get later and then we can determine who has enough for raises and whatnot.

Swayaah wakes up in the Grand Lodge, weak, hungry, tired and sore all over. A priest of the Dawnflower thanks his goddess for granting him another miracle and grants Swayaah some privacy as she recovers.
She is told that some "recovery specialists" were dispatched to the vaults and find her. They also found her allies, so she was glad to hear that. Of course, her purse is almost empty at this point and several other Pathfinders wonder if it was worth recovering her. Whatever, she shrugs.
She hears a knock at the door. The priest returns with some food. He starts her off with a bowl of salad. Salad! Looks just like a tiny Mi-Go, claws snapping into her arms and legs...
"I'm going to shred my salad from now own..." She mumbles as she purees the leafy greens into mush. "Didn't say I would eat it though." She drops the salad bowl and slurps down on some beef stew.
