Bazresh Izzakesh |
Baz jerks his head up, looking alarmed. "I think we have been discovered. I hear a commotion outside. We need to consider our options. Leave this room and try to sneak through the compound, all of us...disappear, or make a stand. I think discretion would prove more valuable."
Awen |
"We could call in our favors and get that distraction rolling. That would give us more than enough chance to get out of here." Awen says, as he draws his sword and steps by the door, getting ready to surprise anyone coming through.
While at the door, can he understand anything coming from the commotion? Perception: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (15) + 12 = 27
I do not know if Lucija has a way of reporting back to us.. but I think her finding the ledgers meets the requirements for our mission here. Unless you guys want to stick around and see what else we can find...

"Now is time for the distraction. If we have what we came for, let us leave before the fight and guards arrive. ."
She can cast invis on other that plan to leave rather than fight. She will cast invis on herself.
EndlessForms |
So what kind of distraction were you hoping for? You can hear people assembling in the main entrance. There is the door leading north where you can meet up with Lucija. You could go to the main entrance from two different doors and face the guards head-on or you could try to penetrate deeper, knowing that they might be right on your tail.
Awen |
I was hoping that the distraction would be some sort of calamity or such that would draw the guards to a wall or some such.. there was no indication as to what the distraction was in the earlier posts.
We can't just leave Lucija.. and as far as I know she doesn't know that the guards are coming for her.. any ideas?
Victoria Hennessee |
Agree that we cannot leave Lucija. However we do not want a fight. We need to get the team back together and find an exit. If that is blocked then head deeper.
Victoria will invisibily try to get near the door where Lucija went and see if she can provide aud. i am not sure if this is the same door Orik is trying to block.
Lucija Lal Rani |
I still need to clarify whether we heard the guards in the next room.
EndlessForms |
Lucija heard nothing but a couple people in the other room heard it. If you take a look at the map you can easily rejoin Lucija without going through the guards, who are in the main lobby area. People started referring to a distraction but I couldn't find a description of what anyone meant by that. Are you doing something to draw them in a certain direction? Or you could just take them on. Like I said, it seems the alarm has been raised so unless you are turning tail and running it is likely that you will have to fight them off eventually.
Victoria Hennessee |
Back home and can see the map. I was mistakenly thinking we had the local Shadow guild available to create a distraction, but that was for forged documents or something else entirely.
"I cannot make all of us invisible unfortunately. However, I see the north room is clear. Let us rejoin with Lucija, and maybe with her summons, she can create a diversion in this room while we go around and try to slip out behind them or through the north. Unless we need more evidence? "
Bazresh Izzakesh |
Baz nods in agreement with Victoria. "I have a single oil for making one invisible. Let us head into the next room to buy us some time. Unless someone can think of an appropriate diversion."
Insidion |
Insidion creates multiple images of himself, and also uses a charge of his shield wand.
"I can make any number of people invisible, but only for a brief period of time," one of the images explains. vanish, if that helps for any plans.
Awen |
All that you told us about the Nightshades distraction was that they were willing to distract the guards. I guess that we failed to actually define that.
"Whatever we do, we need to do it quickly. Lets grab Lucija and decide from there."
With these words, Awen moves to the door behind Orik and checks for anyone beyond it.

As the others move out, Orik pushes the heavy table against the door, trying to wedge some chairs in to make it a bit more work for anyone trying to open the door.
He then waits until all the rest have exited before slipping into the room beyond.
Maybe the summoner has a pet that can help with the distraction?
Lucija Lal Rani |
I'd have instigated a distraction first, but I'm unsure what to do, since I didn't hear the commotion. I guess I ought to do this....

All that you told us about the Nightshades distraction was that they were willing to distract the guards. I guess that we failed to actually define that.
They were willing to distract the city guards, meaning that you have more time before the local law enforcement comes in and breaks things up. You still have to deal with the Aspis guards on-site on your own. Sorry if that was confusing.
Rejoining with Lucija to the north, you can hear the Aspis forces swarming into the conference room just behind you, trying to kick and batter down the door which Orik blocked with the table. The next door beyond is locked so unless someone can quickly pick it and move on, it seems you have little choice but to stand your ground here and fight the Aspis. Either way, they are hot on your tail now.
Insidion |
Insidion moves toward the door. Having already prepared his magical defenses, he now summons a cackling ball of electricity in his hand. shocking grasp

Description
You unleash an insulting tirade so vicious and spiteful that enemies who hear it are physically scorched by your fury. When you cast this spell, make an Intimidate check to demoralize each enemy within 30 feet of you. Enemies that are demoralized this way take 1d10 points of fire damage and must succeed at a Reflex save or catch fire. Spell resistance can negate the fire damage caused by this spell, but does not protect the creature from the demoralizing effect.
