Two boon-related notes:
1) I'm going to go ahead and use my "Lingering Resonance" Boon (from the most recent or second most recent PbP Gameday). I need to put the full text in my profile, but essentially it won't do anything until I fail a saving throw from a spell or SLA.
2) I'm also going to use a boon from #6-08: The Segang Expedition to acquire a pistol that I'm proficient with for the duration of the scenario. I need to copy the text from this one, too.

Joesef (3)
Nicklod (3)
Fahd (2)
Vespaja (3)
Insidion (4)
Rhoswen (5)
3 + 3 + 2 + 3 + 4 + 5 = 20 / 6 = 3.333 rounded to 3
Starting with Season 4, scenarios are designed for six characters and contain instructions on how to adjust the scenario for four-character parties. When the APL of a table is between two subtiers (like APL 3 for a Tier 1–5 scenario), a party of four characters must play the lower tier without any adjustments for party size. A party of five to seven characters whose APL is between two subtiers must play the higher tier with the four-character adjustment.
So we're playing at the high (4-5) subtier with four player adjustments. Is that ok with everyone? If not feel free to switch characters or I can find a substitute.
Otherwise, we'll get started tomorrow once the scenario becomes available and I can get it downloaded.

Ugh, I hate the high tier four player adjustment. But Fahd is my only free character, so I guess I'm in, lol.
Hopefully there's no damned robots in this one.

As long as you're ok with it. Being the level 2 of the group, I was mostly concerned with your opinion.

Btw, the scenario was supposed to be released earlier today but the product page changed to say "released tomorrow", which probably means later in the day (it's usually at the end of the business day in my past experience). So it may be another day before we start, just in case anyone was wondering.

Hi, I'm the scenario's author. Just swinging by to say have a great game!
Feel free to email me if you run into any points of confusion. I'd also love to see any & all feedback on the product page after you've finished the adventure. Thanks for playing!
Cheers!
Scott

Hello and nice to meet you! It's always nice to get input from the author so feel free to follow along and jump in when you want.
Last year at GenCon I ran The Stranger Within with author Sam Polak sitting at the table (and with some of my old Bloomington friends playing) and it was a blast. He found their solution to freeing a certain magical beast to be hilarious and was amused when someone died from the [redacted] in the [redacted]. Luckily they were in a big city so they got better after spending a little lot of gold.

Whoa...cool! Pretty fun to have the author stop by and see how we deal with his creation!
Thanks for popping in!

1 person marked this as a favorite. |

Don't worry, Scott! We'll wreck it up and play it nothing like how you imagined it. ;D

Reposting my scroll bookkeeping so I don't lose it with spoiler quoting:
If your caster level is less than the scroll's caster level, you have to make a caster level check to cast it.
Bull's Strength CL 3 (CL check DC 4) Spellcraft DC 22 -- usable by Joesef with Spellcraft, Insidion with Spellcraft
Comprehend Languages CL 1 Spellcraft DC 21 (I don't think we used this one?) -- usable by Joesef with Spellcraft, Insidion with Spellcraft, Vespaja
Magic Circle Against Chaos CL 5 (CL check DC 6) Spellcraft DC 23 (Link is actually to MCAEvil, but same basic principle) -- usable by Joesef with Spellcraft, Insidion with Spellcraft, Vespaja
Slow CL 5 (CL check DC 6) Spellcraft DC 23 -- usable by Insidion with Spellcraft

Unfortunately, you can't use them unless you've prepared Read Magic or have ranks in Spellcraft. As a cleric, you (and Joesef) can switch up your prepared spells, but I was just going off of what people had listed in their profiles.

No worries, I didn't even know about it until the first time I ever got a scroll in PFS. Luckily, we retroactively determined that I had no way to attempt to use the scroll, thus negating my failed CL and Wisdom check that would have resulted in a scroll mishap, which I think may have done enough damage to almost kill my summoner...

Being able to decipher scrolls is one of my little pet peeves. If you already own a scroll presumably you already deciphered it before the adventure even if you don't have Read Magic prepared that day so I don't worry too much about it in that case. But deciphering scrolls you find during an adventure is actually fairly difficult (Spellcraft DC 20 + spell level) so I try to enforce it when I catch it.
