Able to read Thassilonian, Tolgarov translated to the other each phrase above the doors.
Starting with the southern entrance and proceeding clockwise they said
I the lord of multiple
Obscure the one from primal sight
Hidden now by factors few
A century I wait in night
Product of the fewest steps
Rise again the runelord’s might
Twice I strode, the lord of sloth
Walk these doors to tower’s height

![]() |

I got nothing..
Ceric mutters something about numbers
I = 1? / multiple = more then 1
The one = (also) 1?
Few = not much?
Century = 100?
Fewest = less then 1?
?
Twice=2?
?
I don't think I counts since it appears multiple times
Do we know how high this tower is?. If there's 8 stories it might that there's a door to each of them.
Unless some one comes up with a brilliant idea and figures it out or we just start taking random doors and experiment..can I take a Knowledge check for a clue?
1d20 ⇒ 18(It's +11 or +18 depending on what skill applies to door riddles..)

Giovanni quickly ends the final Hound.
Save your spells! Out of combat!
Now back to this puzzle. . .
I the lord of multiple
Obscure the one from primal sight
Hidden now by factors few
A century I wait in night
Product of the fewest steps
Rise again the runelord’s might
Twice I strode, the lord of sloth
Walk these doors to tower’s height
In the place of more bronze panels stand eight open, rectangular doorframes adorned with metal studs, each doorway’s contents obscured by cool, gray mist.

![]() |

Let's start experimenting, cause I still have no clue about the riddle....
Ceric starts with trying to blow away the cool, gray mist trying to see if something's visible behind it (obscure the one from primal sight)
then takes a stick of trail rations out of his pocket, breaks it into small pieces and tosses a piece through a doorway, starting with the southern entrance and proceeding clockwise. Just to see if anything goes through or if it bounces back.
Anything pictured on the bronze panels other then the outsiders we've seen already? How many studs are there on the frames? Are all the door frames similar? Or is there one/more? which are different from the rest? Also..what time of day is it?, since it mentions night...time of day might effect it somehow.

EndlessForms |

How many studs are there on the frames?
There we go!
The number of studs on the doors are as follows:
Are there other hallways branching off the main chamber? If there are Batty will start looking down them.
Batty goes to check out the other hallways branching off. Everburning lanterns placed regularly along these dustless halls illuminate a passage built entirely of dull iron bricks mortared together with lead. Like pictures tightly packed into a gallery hang dozens of broad, bronze panels embossed with scenes of fiendish animals, planar monstrosities, and titanic beasts, each creature with a short inscription engraved next to its image. Dampened roars, muted wails, and barely audible speech sporadically whisper through the halls, ruining the otherwise perfect silence.
(old faction mission in those halls but not much else)

![]() |

Sure..nothing simple like 1 through 8..
K..I think this might have been a bit harder cause I'm not a native english speaker, but according to google multiple, primal and factors are math terms. The only prime numbers on the doors are 1 and 7. And the factors of the numbers listed are:
1 - 1
7 - 2
8 - 4
12 - 6
16 - 5
25 - 3
40 - 8
64 - 7
So now at least we have a "simple" row of 8..doors 1 through 8, and 2,3,5 and 7 are prime numbers. Sooooo...still no clue.
Factors few = 1, but factorS implies more then 1..so that would be 2.
According to google here's something called a prime factor, which doesn't give a result for 1..but it does for 7.
I am either realy over complicating things or they assume that people who play this are realy good at math or something..cause I'm lost. And if this does happens to be the correct answer to the puzzle, there's no way I would have come up with this without various google searches.
I'm going to go for the door frame with 7 studs, just cause it's a primal factor and the number with the least factors and also because the puzzle mentions Twice (I strode) ..so that's a 2.
After mumbling a lot about various numbers and calculations Ceric says:
"Let's just try one and see what happens, let's go with this one."Ceric points at the door frame with 7 studs.
"Unless someone has a better idea?"
And this is the point where we find out that none of this matters anyways ;)

![]() |

atm, I don't have any better answers, 7 sounds fair. Btw, a Prime Number by definition is a number that only has two factors, one and itself.
I suppose it could be two, the product of the fewest steps. Product would be 1 x 2= 2 and 2 is a prime number.
Doh! That would be it. Door number two is 7! Sorry, slow today.

![]() |

To be pedantic, you provided the number of unique whole number factors, not the whole number factors themselves. Those would have been: 1; 1, 7; 1, 2, 4, 8; 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 12; 1, 2, 4, 8, 16; 1, 5, 25; 1, 2, 4, 5, 8, 10, 20, 40; & 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64. NOT that I am saying we need to try it instead, but if we ignore all the ones, then door 6 has 2 factors remaining . . .. Have I mentioned that I don't normally enjoy this sort of puzzle? I have to figure out what assumptions the puzzle author made without bothering to realize it. Two factors with or with out "obscuring the one from primal sight"? Which assumption was the author's assumption? Let's hit door 2!

![]() |

Well, breaking down the riddle...
I the lord of multiple
Obscure the one from primal sight
Hidden now by factors few
A century I wait in night
Product of the fewest steps
Rise again the runelord’s might
Twice I strode, the lord of sloth
Walk these doors to tower’s height
'Hidden by factors few' and 'Product of the fewest steps' indicates our goal is the number with the fewest factors in it.
One is 'hidden', so it isn't the answer.
'Twice I strode' - I'm betting we'll have to walk through two sets of doors minimum to reach where we want to go.
Gina leads the party through door 7.
