Miles of Magnimar |

Miles asks if he could use one of Grimma's axes with the dinosaur body. If she's not as willing to relinquish it, he'll let her have at the dino or take one axe while she takes the other. Using his rope, he hangs the dinosaur from a tree about two hundred feet from the camp and first disembowels it. He then takes the offal down to the shoreline and washes the intestines out. Most of the offal he leaves there, but he brings the intestines back and hangs them from a nearby tree to dry in the afternoon sun...or be eaten by the local wildlife, whichever comes first. Any dried intestines that remain might be used for something. Socks, most likely, if it keeps raining like it did the night before.
When he returns to the site of the dinosaur he strips the hide off and lets some of it bleed off into the closest thing they have to a basin, and then hacks off the limbs and shaves the meat from the bone, never doing anything to disturb the poison sacs. Finally, he takes the carcass and the blood basin and disposes of them again away from the encampment. Then he lays out the strips of dino flesh over a fire to smoke.
When everyone is nearby the center of camp, Miles takes it upon himself to inform everyone. Because it does concern everybody.
"Yesterday while we searched the island, we found a temporary shelter on the beach. Captain Kovack's hat was there," he says, waving the tricorner, "and some evidence that she was with him, as well. They went deeper into the jungle, but it was getting dark and we couldn't keep following. So, at least for now, it seems the Captain may still be alive. I'd like to go and find the two of them before they get into more trouble. And because I know we all have a lot of...questions."

Viata d'Foc |

Viata looks at the others, waiting for someone else to speak. Seeing no one else jumping up, she sheepishly speaks, "But what should we do about the camp, yes? If some go, then some stay? Or maybe move camp closer, where the two of them had stayed? We must work together to survive."
Yana, having been quiet on Viata's shoulder, hops off and starts playing around, pointing towards the jungle. "Yana would like to go find the captain as well, it would seem."

Finn Garrety |

We could all move our camp and take over the captain's after all that way we could achieve our goals and have some answers. See everyone there is hope to be have. We are improving our situation already and soon we can figure out a way to get off this island. After all that lady came here for a specific reason didn't she?

Jask aka GM |

"I do not think it is wise for us to move camp. We have spent the past day or so building it and it is currently defensible but to move all of this gear to the other side of the island is foolhardy and considering the general lack of assistance from some of the others it wouldn't make any sense. says Jask cheerfully.

Grimma Fireforge |

Yes. I could do nothing for Sasha right now, so it might be better I go with you Finn.
Thanks Jack and Gelik for your great help, and your attempts to cheer everbody up.

Miles of Magnimar |

When it comes to putting a fire together, Miles asks for Ishirou's help. While he is rubbing sticks, he stops often to wipe sweat from his neck. "You knew Captain Kovack longer than I did. When I read that journal to you, did it sound like him? Was he a basketcase the whole time and I never noticed? I'm not sure what I'm going to do when we find him..."
He stabs one of the twigs into the ground and twists it. "If Kovack is somehow responsible for what happened on that ship...for what happened to us...I don't know what I might do. What do you think, Ishirou?"

GMEDWIN |

Aerys nods her head about the coconuts.
Grimma
Ichirou looks at Miles in a quizzical manner, "I got on the ship in Bloodcove. I am a sailor sure but not on the Jenivere."
I guess I should put the port of call of all the stowaways too

Miles of Magnimar |

"I take it that means you don't care much what happens with Kovack, hm?" Miles shrugs. "Where did you sail before the Jenivere, if you don't mind my asking? I'm not much of a sailor myself, really. That was my first voyage. I'm hoping this shipwrecking thing isn't standard operating procedure for sea travel..."

Miles of Magnimar |

"Further than I've ever traveled. In fact, this right here is the furthest I've ever been from home. But I guess, ah, you're even farther..."
The fact that the man was Tian was obvious. "Shipping runs, was it? What was so queer about being in Osirion?"

Viata d'Foc |

"All right then, let us be off to explore some more. Come on, Yana. I'm certain Gelik can handle things here without you." The small monkey almost looks to be pouting as he climbs up to Yana's shoulder. "Shall we try to continue following the Captain's trail?"
And that's my vote.

GMEDWIN |

Your group leaves the camp the same way as yesterday however since you are already familiar with route it is a little bit faster today around midday is when you reach the camp of the Captain.

Ishirou's evasion is not lost on Miles. "Fair enough." He looks around to see if anyone is eavesdropping. "We all have things we need to keep to ourselves. See you when we get back."
Later, when they reach the original encampment the Captain made, Miles was expecting it to have been abandoned, since it seemed to him to be only a temporary shelter when they first found it. "Guess I'll pick up the trail from here."
Survival: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17 to follow the trail again

Viata d'Foc |

Viata also aids Miles to the best of her ability.
Question. Would I be able to have Yana assist in a Survival roll? I'm looking over the rules and I don't see why not, but not sure if I'm missing anything.
Survival: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (2) + 0 = 2

Viata d'Foc |

I would think Yana could assist you but another character would be doubtful, then you would have do a handle animal check I would think
Sounds reasonable to me.

GMEDWIN |

Miles Survival: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14 I'm going to hand wave this
You are able to catch the clues and follow them further into the interior after about an hour of travel you come upon a heavily traveled trail as the heavy heat moves in. The trail moves in a north-south direction.
Survival DC 22 to continue following the captain.

Miles of Magnimar |

Sorry, I thought I was waiting for Viata to get Yana to assist!
Survival: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10
"It has gotten hot again. Finn, can you help to cool things down for us again like you did yesterday? Otherwise, it's just too dangerous to keep going on."

Viata d'Foc |

Ah, no sorry. Viata doesn't have handle animal trained so can't at the moment have him help at present.

Grimma Fireforge |

I don't joke with money Finn... I'm still a dwarf
Said in an unhumorous voice Grimma
But she can't hide her small smile
Help me instead of making bad joke Finn, we need to find the trail of the Captain

Finn Garrety |

work, work and more work. That is all you have for me? you first drain me of all my magical powers and now you want to me sniff out a cold trail? I bought a ticked for a pleasure cruise to sip cocktails by the beech. he replied with big wave of his arms in a melodramatic voice. Obviously having fun.
Survival assist : 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (19) + 0 = 19

GMEDWIN |

There is a mild depression in the sandy jungle floor that is reminiscent of the shoes that the captain had been wearing whereas the other prints seem to be that of bare feet and shoeless. After about a half an hour on the trail starts a babbling brook that is moving further south in the direction the captain's trail is taking you. You follow it for another half an hour south where the brook turns into a river where it joins up with another brook moving in a northerly direct that collides together and then follows the concave of the landscape also in southerly direction.
Survival Checks everyone

Miles of Magnimar |

Miles stops ten feet from the edge of the river and looks up and down, judging how quickly it is moving, if at all. Then he looks up to see how much tree canopy covers the river to see if it is possible to climb through the canopy over the river.
