GM Deuce
My wife went out to dinner with her girlfriends so I could get more done today than I expected. I hope everybody sees that as a positive thing and got their votes in before noon today.
The carriage driver finishes smoking his pipe and puts it back into a pouch on his belt. After that, the driver opens a scroll case and produces a piece of parchment.
Clearing his throat, the driver says loudly, "I am looking for the following persons. If I call your name, please join me in the carriage!"
After a short pause to build excitement in the crowd, the driver shouts "Rikael Ashenstone, if you are sober enough to walk, please accept a ride to Heldren!"
Waiting a few moments for the crowd to return to a semblance of quiet, the driver continues, "Thorn Silvertip, please join Rikael on the trip to Heldren!".
After Thorn enters the carriage, the driver continues "Urga, the Ogre Prophet please enter the carriage and be careful not to put a hole in the seat".
Once Urga takes his place, the driver shouts "Sildur Farwind, please bring your bear with you on our journey! I do hope your companion is housebroken".
After helping the bear into place, the driver wipes his hands on his pants before continuing. After a short pause, he announces "Izumi Hitomi, if it pleases the lady, we would appreciate your company."
Knowing the crowd will be interested in the last selection, the driver pauses for a few moments. Once the crowd's tension builds until it is almost unbearable, the driver breaks the silence. "Last, but far from least, Agatha Mystblame, witch of the north, please enter the carriage!" he shouts.
After the group enters the carriage, the driver closes the door and climbs back into his seat, getting the group started on the journey to Heldren.
I want to thank everybody who applied to be included in this game. The characters were flat out amazing and making the final choices was harder than I expected. I have two or three more characters in the reserve list, please check back in case some of the six decide to not take part in the adventure.
If you would like more input on my choices, please PM me. Once again, I want to thank everybody for their effort and dedication through this process.
Selected characters: please check into the discussion thread. There are a few housekeeping things there that need to be taken care of before we get underway.
Also, Keinara, recruitment was already closed. Thanks for your interest, but there were already a large number of people who submitted characters many days ago.
Marton Belorne
Marton looked around, looked around for perhaps another carriage, then sighed and shrugged his shoulders when none turned up. Lighting up his own pipe for a brief drag of the already spent ashes inside, he put it away after a few moments of disappointment.
He turned to the undine who it seemed had also come out to see the carriage and the commotion. He smiled, "Well, it seems that wasn't our ride after all. Why don't you just come on back inside with me, now? We can have another drink and you can cure my . . . inexperience. How's about it?"
Rikael Ashenstone
Rikael takes a look at the friends he made last night, at Sturion, Kezethak, White Fire, and the rest.
My friends, it looks as though the gods have different plans for us all. Trust that if I find anything that will help you find you seek, I will find a way to let you know. That, I promise. Sturion, I hope you find a way to avenge your clan. White Fire, take care of Kzethak. Something tells me the two of you have a long way to go on your journey. The rest of you, please, whenever you are in a tavern, take a drink, and remember me!
With that, he climbs into the carriage and settles in, eyes on the horizon, and his next adventure.
Sildur Farwind
Don't feel bad Kzethax, I can't help but feel you're on the short list. Maybe we'll see each other again in future.
Sildur smirks at the driver, "Possibly more so than some of our other passengers.
The ulfen turns to the others, "It would seem here we part ways. I've found it's best to keep these things simple."
He pulls a flask from his belt and raises it to the others, "Farewell, my you each find what you are looking for."
He drinks deep from the flask before stowing it back away and climbing into the carriage to join Dru.
Farewell friends, this has been an amazing recruitment! I wish you all luck with your future campaigns!
