Hitomi at her core appearance looks like she's the child of a Avistani-Tian relationship, although her hair separates her from everyone else. Though it is white in it's base, it seems to have what would seem to be a glow towards most people. Some could say it's a more of a golden hue, others a silver hue, but a glow none the less. However Hitomi attempts to hide her aasimar lineage by wearing a wig to cover her hair up. Her wigs vary in color, so that she never has the same look over and over again. She can most often be found in a tavern working as a barmaid when she isn't on the move, and wears clothes appropriate for the job. She always has two daggers on her at all times though. One on her hip and one strapped to her inner thigh.

Her personality however, is one few grains shy too many. Due to an unfortunate event in her history, Hitomi is often doubtful. She tends to be more doubtful when she makes a mistake, which is few and far between, but when she begins to have too much time alone, she starts to reminisce on the past in which case she starts to wonder what would've happened had she done things differently. As if her doubt issues weren't enough, she has low self esteem issues that stem from being forced into courtesan work. Even though Hitomi no longer is forced to do that line of work, whenever she feels that she has to rely on that experience, she becomes depressed on the inside and feels herself worthless.

Izumi Hitomi was born to a middle class in the Minkai region of Tian Xiao. Her birth was considered an ordinary birth in the sense that it was still considered a blessing and a miracle of life. Being the second child to a merchant father and his artisan wife, she became the instant princess in the family and was treated as such. Everything was great until she had turned the age of two. It was about that time when she had started to develop patches on her skin that appeared much fairer than her family’s dusky skin tone. As the patches began to spread, her parents’ fear grew just as much. They looked for reasoning as to why this was occurring, and by the time her entire body had changed its skin tone, the doctors could only determine that she had a very rare condition that would cause such a dramatic change. Unfortunately, they couldn’t explain why the process only took a year where as it would’ve normally been across a much lengthier period of time.

When Hitomi had turned about the age of six, another oddity occurred. Her hair started to turn white. At first it was just her roots, causing her parents to believe that she was also losing her hair color as well. That’s when noticed something different. Hitomi’s hair wasn’t losing color, it was actually turning white overall. Her parents spent the next three years chasing their ancestry in order to find out if this was more than just a medical cause, as white hair signified great importance. After all that time, her family discovered that she was the first in 100 generations to display this trait. Was more interesting was that every 5 generations, a child was born with celestial blood. This discovery was so important that the Izumi family was given status to that of nobility. What they didn’t learn though was her secret that had discovered abilities within herself and had slowly been trying to figure out what they were.

At first, Hitomi had noticed that should modify random objects at will without even thinking about it. Then she found out that certain people would hear her when she spoke under her breath. Of course she’d deny speaking in the first place, but these were odd things for her to discover. And with her parents scouring their ancestry, Hitomi figured that she would find an answer there. She just never thought how much pain would eventually come to her because of them. Just before she turned 15, her parents had arranged a marriage for her that would ensure them noble status. Hitomi was hesitant about it all, but her parents told her denying the marriage would’ve brought shame to the family. Not only that, but she was too young to understand how life worked. On the day she was to wed, which fell on her 15th birthday, she learned of the nobleman’s plan to throw her family to the street with nothing and use her as his prostitute , so that he would make a profit off her ‘exotic beauty’. When she confronted him about it, he became violent against her. What happened next, Hitomi still doesn’t recall personally, and barely even remembers what had occurred. After he had slapped her hard enough to bruise, she stood back up, her eyes turning from brown to a vibrant blue. After threatening him to never touch her or her family ever again, she raised her hand and as her eyes turned full white, a burst of divine flame shot out and burned the nobleman without causing any other damage.

Hitomi awoke imprisoned and facing her family. While nobody could really explain what happened, the only word they had to go on was that she had attacked him with hell fire. The fact that her eyes were now permanently a vibrant blue didn’t help. Now being scapegoated as a demon in female form, her family had no idea what to believe and saw this as a curse placed upon the family instead. In a deal with the now disfigured nobleman, her family had no choice but to outcast Hitomi in order for them to live. Feeling a great amount of dishonor, Hitomi had no choice but accept what was going to happen. The nobleman struck a deal with a merchant from Cheliax and sold her to him. The merchant than began to teach her Taldane, and helped her with her arcane talent as he picked her up for a sorceress almost instantly in his travels. The price however was a heavy one. He used her as a prostitute, claiming her to be his “courtesan associate”. Being forced in this position weighed heavily on her, and at one point she had accepted that this was the life she was destined to live. After three years of travel, Hitomi finally saw a glimmer of hope that she could possibly break free. The merchant who owned her had begun to grow complacent to her actions, and that’s when she hatched a plan.

Hitomi waited until the night he was planning to meet up with some of his other associates for drinks. As soon as he was drunk, she approached him claiming that she was going to go find some business so that she could earn him more coin and he had bought the story. She instantly packed only what she needed and ran for her life. She ran for two days and collapsed from exhaustion, and was fortunate enough to be found. Some clerics of Calistra happened to find her off the side of the road and figured her to be an abused prostitute due to her scantily clad clothing she was in and the condition in what she looked. They took her in and healed her up, and then explained what being a courtesan actually meant. Knowing that it wasn’t the life for her, she had explained what had happened and asked for their help. Giving her some teachings of Calistra, some knowledge of Avistan, and some supplies for her to have, the clerics sent her on her way.

Hitomi has now spent the last few years on the run, working in taverns as a barmaid in trade for room and board. She’s rarely had to rely on her courtesan background to get anywhere, but she knows that it’s better than living in the wild without knowing what would happen if she didn’t try to keep hidden. So now she’s not only hoping to break free of possibly being found, but hoping to find some protection as she fears that she won’t last much longer without help.
