Balthasar drinks the less potent of his two potions.

CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7

He then hands the potion of greater potency to Thrall. "Here. We need your wounds healed so you are less vulnerable to our foes' weapons. Once everyone is ready to go, we will get back to searching."

Giving Thrall my potion of cure moderate wounds so he can heal himself.

"Nah, man, I got one of those" Thrall rejects. "Keep it for a better occasion."

Thrall's potion is actually less powerful, but he drinks it putting his faith in The Lady and knowing he's got another one just in case.

Potion of CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

As expected, though, the liquid does little effect, so he grabs his last one. "That one's for dessert. To your health" he toastes, irony sprouting from his still watered mouth.

He wiped his mouth with the back of his hand and nods, ready to go on.

With their wounds mostly healed, the party moves around the room and breaches each room individually. The worst they come across is some demonic flies that don't last more than a dozen seconds against their melee might. The only unopened door is the one that was barred solidly shut.

The lock stubbornly refuses to give, so you do it the hard way.

The three men go to work hacking, chipping and breaking the door down. It takes a while and it's not easy work. The door is thick and banded in iron. However, the determination of the Crusaders wins in the end.

The southern portion of this room holds a wide alabaster basin filled with bloody entrails. The outside of the basin is carved with images of warriors around a raised sun, holding longswords aloft. A flight of stairs ascends to the west. Six zombies stand around the basin,
staring mournfully into it with their bellies open and gaping. They turn to attack.

Balthasar moves into the room, looks at the bloody entrails in the basin, grimaces, then says, "Once we find the wardstone fragment, we should take the time to clean this, as well. We should also make sure we bury the bodies of Lord Hulrun, and any other crusader's bodies we find. The entire gray garrison needs a cleaning. For now, let's ascend the stairs. Arianna, I'm sorry to put you in such danger, but could you scout the way forward?" He hands her the potion of invisibility. "This may help you evade detection."

Arianna nodded as she took the potion of invisibility and quickly downed it. "Well it is why I'm here right?" She asked coyly before moving to start up the stairs keeping her eyes peeled for any sign of traps or alarms ahead of her.

Once at the top she'd try to proceed slowly, even if she was invisible she'd behave as though she were and rely as much on her natural stealth as the invisibility.

Arianna:
You creeps forward on magical cat's paws. The stairs twist up. At the top of the spiral stairs, a wide hall stretches for thirty feet before ending in a door. Two alcoves on both sides of the hall hold torches that burn with white light. Each torch illuminates a pedestal, on each of which rests a battered and broken steel helm.

Balthasar looks at the others. "We know the threat is there. We should be prepared. Do we have any spells that we can cast to enhance our combat prowess now?"

So, according to the loot sheet, we still have a scroll of bear's endurance, a scroll of magic fang, a wand of magic missile (CL 3) with 11 charges, a wand of bless weapon with 18 charges, a wand of spiritual weapon with 8 charges, and a wand of CMW with 9 charges. Male Human Cavalier (Standard Bearer) 4/Paladin (Holy Tactician) 2/Champion 1| AC 21, touch 12, flat-footed 18 | HP 57/57 | Fort +11, Ref +5, Will +10 | Init +2 | Perception +1 | Weal's Champion 1/1 | Challenge 2/2 | Lay on Hands 3/3 | Mythic Power 5/5
