@Desmond:
Fav enemy untrained kn roll: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15 The creatures, as you swing at them, notice they don't seem to be trying to protect vitals you're trying to stab at (thinking they're human.) You think (given the locale and circumstances, that 1, 2, and 5 might be Vermleks (with magical powers given to them via some extraplanar force). Vermlek Witch 4; one piece of information, as per a statblock piece or just a general question.

The other folks seem like regular people (especially given that vermleks of this caliber won't be going down with one of his Cleaver's swings.)

  • Baz double moves up behind the ball of fire!
    ---
  • Luisila fires 2 shots, though only the second connects!
    ---
  • Desmond moves up and swings his sword! He connects, and comes to a revelation! His wolf can still do some stuff (it's a free action to handle your Animal Companion, unless you took that one archetype.)
    ---
  • BIG BIRD claws a lot, though only the first claw connects (like last time!)
    ---
  • Cleaver moves up to 5 and chops into him! Though mighty, the cut does not bring down the Magic Farmer!
    ---
  • #3 stands blind at the ball of fire, unsure of what to do now!

    #4 seems to clear his eyes and look upon the scene. "Aah! They're... they're fighti-!" and stops mid sentence. He glances over to his unconcious companion and steps up to Omrax and swings. Scythe: 1d20 - 2 + 2 - 1 ⇒ (19) - 2 + 2 - 1 = 182d4 + 1 ⇒ (4, 4) + 1 = 9 Despite his bad mojo, Omrax is not successfully hit by the near-miss!

    #6, still dazzled, moves up to Varg and swings (provoking from Omrax, Sure, BIRD, and Desmond)! He (if nobody murders him) swings at Varg! Scythe: 1d20 - 3 ⇒ (9) - 3 = 62d4 + 1 ⇒ (1, 4) + 1 = 6 ... and missed (as expected!)

#7 lays unconscious, perilously next to a ball of fire!

  • The wolf moves up with his master, but barely fails to connect.

    Desmond:
As you know already, cold iron goes through their DR. They have no specific weaknesses beyond that, though.

    ---
Casters have been casting defensively, so no cacklers have provoked yet.

  • Omrax steps up to his now-entirely-focused target of #5, having identified 3 as casters but decided to focus on this one specifically! As he steps up (having used his 5' step by Stepped Up before), the laughing men's snap out with their faces (since they're only carrying their scythes while casting)!

    Bite?!?: 1d20 + 9 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 9 + 2 = 141d6 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5

Each of the threaten-ers fails to connect with flesh, probably due to divine intervention in conjunction with his tremendous amount of armor. He also fails to connect, though threatens 2 cast-ys now! He (as well as the perceptive lot of you) is well-aware that within their man-mouths are some other more powerful jaws, though they have retracted from the forefront!
    ---

  • Sure tries to calm his bird, but it continues to go ape! He also tries to stab a laughing man, but fails to connect well!
    ---
  • The casters still find something hilarious as they continue laughing. It might be the fact that the ball of fire has disappeared!

#1 steps to have some bird cover, considering it the least case result! He tries to focus on some spell-like ability... Concentrate DC 19: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17 ... though fails again! What a failure!

#2 steps back (and enjoys not being threatened by Omrax!) He 'll try to make Omrax stop moving, too! Hold Person: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 9 = 17 ... but it thwarted in the attempt!

#5 steps back, only to be followed by Omrax! He'll try to focus on some innate ability defensively... Conce DC 19: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25 ... and finally does so! He and his two buddies look a little better, though the effect was kind of backwards...? S-craft dc 17

Woops, I misread the HA rules the first time. I only played this character twice a few months ago. BIG BIRD knows the down trick so it should have only been a DC 10 and taken a free action. Oh well, it's funnier this way so I'll go with it until Súrë's next turn.

Luisila heeds Baz’s call and moves 25’ to the north of #1 and south of Sure and *casts* Stabilize on #6.

  • Baz moves around a caster-type and swings at 1 with his sword and greedy self-teamwork! He connect, though the target of his choice is not down!
    ---
  • Desmond's wolf snaps at the man but doesn't connect as well as hoped, ripping a chunk of meat off the leg (which the man apparently doesn't care about!) His(?) master cuts into #2 and puts him down! He either then has the option of moving or just using that second swing to outright kill #2 (since it was the first attack)!
    ---
  • Luisila moves past some of the bad-at-swinging villagers and stabilizes a villagerman (even though Stabilize is a close-range spell anyways! I think she just likes touching people.) Scythe AoO: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (15) - 2 = 132d4 + 1 ⇒ (2, 2) + 1 = 5 You actually had a path to him only provoking from one of the non-threats, which seemed better than the bite-guys who actually seems to damage armor a little (thematically.)
    ---
  • BIG BIRD tries to show the assumed demon how to go back to the Abyss, but gets too excited and only connects with a single talon!
    ---
  • Cleaver cleaves, though the man still stands!
    ---
  • #3 finally shakes off his blindness! He looks to the horror going on, but responds to a non-existant voice "A... okay..." He moves to flank Baz and swing his scythe! Scythe, flanks: 1d20 - 2 + 2 ⇒ (8) - 2 + 2 = 82d4 + 1 ⇒ (4, 2) + 1 = 7

#4 responds to something as well. "But... she's saving us! She's--" ... but suddenly stops speaking, as if interrupted. He moves to attack Luisila! Scythe: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (19) - 2 = 172d4 + 1 ⇒ (2, 4) + 1 = 7 He fails to connect, possibly holding back at the last second from that critical moment!
    ---

  • Omrax, dedicated to his cause, slams his smite target! The wriggling non-man falls to the ground, limp! After the onslaught from both Desmond and Omrax that knocked two to the ground, the villagers seems both confused and a little enlightened (but still as "hostile" as before.)

Soooo sorry, need to retcon my action. I just realized thet #5 was down. Of course I would have attacked the remaining #1 from a flanking position at J8 or I9, whichever is available. This would add 2 to the attack roll, making it an 18. Again, orry for the misread.

    Male Bear Burglar 1

Now that I'm logic-ing through it, I don't think you Ranger/Druid-esque folk have to actually roll if its a trick they know; it's a free action to handle, so you can spam it until you don't roll that 1-or-a-2-that-fails. It's only if you have to push them (or handle a not-animal-companion animal) that action economy matters.

Yeah, after my first screw up I double-checked the rules. It's a free action and DC 10 to command them to do a trick they already know. I can't fail that with the +4 HA bonus for being its master so I won't bother rolling anymore. You only have to use a move and the higher DCs to push them to do a trick they don't know. I wondered why I never remembered rolling HA before when I played him the first time.
