Generally you can't 'ready' actions outside of combat but you can always charge in the surprise round, as Burglar said (in addition to the other ways to take more than a move or standard in the surprise).

![]() |

Also: that is correct. People actually level 6-7 get high tier gold, everyone else gets "out of tier" gold. But everyone still gains access to the high-tier items/boons/etc.

Thanks for the excellent time, GM. Also, got the chronicle sheet - that Sczarni boon is pretty cool. I need to start keeping track of the boons that Des has earned.

Got the chronicle. Gotta say, I kinda like "Birdivan". Except it looks too much like Birdi Van.

If the PCs left Ilivan for dead, he limps into town (minus one arm) some time later having single-handedly slain the army of demons. Upon his return to Nerosyan, he begins to plot a scheme of vengeance for the party's lack of faith and his perceived "abandonment." This plan, however, is beyond the scope of this scenario.
Really, though, I'm dragging on because today is my local S&S game and won't be able to start 5-06 until AT LEAST tomorrow (but tomorrow is a vacation day from work, like every other Friday until next year.) Plus, I know that Luisila likes big, talk-y posts, so I figured she'd want to take advantage of an opportunity like this.

Is this true? Oh man, that is cool.

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmaybe. No. I mean, maybe. Just keep playing, then maybe? Probably not, though. But it might.
...
At least the Commander (whose gender I confused multiple times in preliminary posts of when she was introduced) will be at the ceremony/wake.

Lol.
I guess we'll have to wait for the Season 6 special to see!

![]() |

But the alternate ending to this scenario is pretty cool.

Sir Ilivan comes back missing an arm, and he has an eye-patch and a thin mustache for him to twirl. The three sure marks of the evil doppelganger!

A Pathfinder Society Special for characters of 1st to 15th level.
An old acquaintance from the Society's past returns to hunt down the individuals who once left him for dead and he won't let anyone get in his way. Despite the Decemvirate's best attempts, the Ten are unable determine a serial killer's motives or plans, except for his intent to attack one of six veteran Pathfinders during the Ascendance Day festival. The Ten send word to their best agents to stay alert during the festival, but will the Ten's information turn the festival of drunken revelry into a bloody trap meant for them?
This special is not designed for play in Pathfinder Society Organized Play, but can't easily be adapted for use for any world. It is a fake scenario played by multiple tables simultaneously (minimum 5) and requires one imaginary GM per table and an overseer GM to "coordinate" the entire event. This special is not compliant with the Open Game License (OGL) and isn't suitable for use with the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game.

I especially like how there is no "Best" ending (barring personal preference.) Very fitting for the Worldwound.

Great job, GM. Loved the ending. Chron looks good. Was not sure if we had to actually rescue Illivan to get some of the boons, but with the trouble we had with just two demons, a clloud of them seemed suicidal, even for a fun loving paladin such as Omrax of the low wisdom.

Challenge accepted.
**Puts her hands together for Des's story**

I am ASTOUNDED I got that whole post right in one take posting from a phone. Whoo.

GM Burglar |

Oh, and the boons were faction specific. As much as you SHOULD have that Inheritor boon, you don't only by virtue of not being Silver Crusade. You guys got the good-guy ending, pretty much. All goals achieved.

Burglar's Season 6 PFS Special.
Hey Burglar, I laughed at this. But you know what?
It has potential!
Has anyone come across one of those “How to Host a Murder” dinner party games that were popular in the 1990’s?
PFS meets “How to Host a Murder.” I’d play it – and there’d be food and wine!

Anybody interested in playtesting any of the forthcoming 'Advanced Classes'? Apparently they're legal to playtest in Society play.

![]() |

I will certainly be checking them out. I've got two blob characters with credits on them (one of them my Suli) that I've been holding for the ACG.

![]() |

Hey GMs,
Deflection Bonus to AC. Does it apply to Touch AC and NOT Flat-footed AC?
I will probably have a look at the War Priest class. But not sure I'm ready to start another character yet.

![]() |

Deflection applies to everything, including CMD.
I'm excited to see them. I honestly wasn't terribly thrilled about the 'hybrid' class idea when I first heard it. Why publish a book of things that could be accomplished with multiclassinng? (Having played a few multiclassed characters) multiclassing is not as bad as people seem to think it is.
It's kinda grown on me though. I'm withholding judgement until I actually see them. I'm sure they'll each have some new unique mechanic that separates them from simple multiclassed characters in the same way the magus is much different than a wizard/fighter.
Honestly I'm most excited to see the Shaman. The Investigator is intriguing as well.

GM Burglar |

Nothing in the ACG really zazzed me to super-interest, to be honest, but if the Brawler ends up being the class I think it might end up being, there's going to be a lot of Unarmed Fighter/Barbarian/ Monk multiclassers that are gonna be grumpy at being made irrelevant (myself included.) I have faith, though.
Oh, and if it wasn't transparent enough, the gameplay thread right now is me both stretching out the 1-paragraph for entertainment purposes (possibly my own only) and justifying the ending's one really absurd claim. We'll likely start 5-06 (or at least topics opened up) on Sunday, but this is technically done, so levelers can level, chronicles can be applied, and whatnot with 0 issues.

And GM Burglar, are you running 5-06 for this same group? Awesome if you are, but I just noticed this in your last comment and thought maybe I missed prior discussion on it. I was not sure if they were part of a mini-series?
Omrax would love to continue with the group. He did not level, and just spent his money on a haversack.
If there is travel back to Absalom between missions, Omrax was going to stop in at the
Filosten's Frothing Alembic to see a couple old friends.

That's the plan, though they're just tied together by the fact they're all season 5 (and geographically might make sense since a boat-ride back actually lead here halfway through.) Y'all headin' to Tymon in the River Kingdoms (a nation I actually own the Pathfinder Chronicles Guide for, since I tried to run Kingmaker once, so prepare for MAXIMUM INFO.)
