Grits, Baz are up!
Map edits I'll have happen when I get home: Delete Gator, move Opal back to square north-east of her starting position. Move Kyo 5 feet forward (coincidentally, Opal's starting position).

Acro.: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (9) - 1 = 8
Baz attempts to thread his way across the bridge, making room for falling half-orcs. He slips on a piece of moss and promptly falls in the water, definitely making room on the bridge.
Burglar's locationator: 1d8 ⇒ 4
How's that work? Does Baz fall on the bridge or get shunted into the nearest water tile?
Bazresh Izzakesh

Baz makes a last second lunge and falls prone to the bridge.
Acro: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (15) - 1 = 14
The tiefling in able find purchase on the bridge and stands back up, turning to watch Harboth and the big snake crawling down the chain.

Can I move taking 10 each square until I get into a threatened square?
Kyoshiro Nemuri

I moved the gator - thought it was appropriate :)
Kyoshiro moves nervously across the slimy bridge to where Grits is, cursing he didn't spend more time in combat training on icy lakes where warriors strove to improve footwork using kata and the slipperiness of the ice.
He puts his naginata outside ways as a balancing pole of sorts willing to give up Attacks of Opportunity but hoping for a circumstance bonus of sorts
If its just one roll required then use the first
1st 5ft 1d20 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 - 2 = 10
2nd 5ft (sharing with Grits) 1d20 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 - 2 = 17
3rd 5ft (stands under Harboth - IF he he gonna go in the water anyways) 1d20 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 - 2 = 12
4th 5ft (behind Baz) 1d20 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 - 2 = 9
Edit: Just re read the rules for the scenario - I need to move half speed. Your call on if that 4th movement is taken - the fail was by 1. If I get any circumstance bonus it would be good but if I were moving half speed I shouldn't get there. This however puts me under Harboth... lets see what happened
| GM Burglar |
Only need the one for the whole move/double move, so Kyo is good. When Harboth falls, scenario text says he falls in the lake, so he'll get a d6 to determine which water square, of the squares surrounding him. Thematically, it's a "He hits the bridge hard enough that he has to slide into the water" kind of thing.

This skill challenge strikes me as one of those game show obstacle things - but with real snakes and a headless croc gushing blood. Be interesting to see if any of us make it to the other side AND still manage to be a fighting force worth a damn rather than taken apart piece meal.

I see now what you were asking GM. Though Baz was to the right on the map, He was under Haroboth, so now he is just immediately to the right. So Kyo, that will effect how far you can move, i.e. past Baz.
Grits
|
Grits growls at the downed gator and follows just behind whomever takes the lead.
Delay move action until someone else moves up.
So it's an acro check for each 5'? Any bonus for having four legs? I will go ahead and make some rolls:
Harboth's square: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
Baz's square: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19
east of that: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8
NE of that: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23
Harboth Redacre
|
It's going to be a busy-ass day, so I will go ahead and post Harboth's action:
Harboth shouts, Ha haa! as he cuts himself free, then there is an, Oh, sh- cut off by the WHOMP! of him hitting the bridge, a slippery, scrabbling sound of half-orcness sliding across the wet bridge despite Harboth's best efforts, and finally a PLOOSH! as he plunges into the lake.
Where does he land?: 1d6 ⇒ 2
Harboth then attempts to swim to shore whilst holding his weaponry.
Swim mf'r swim mf'r swim!: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13
On the assumption that that worked (calm water, right?), I went ahead and moved Harboth a square to the NE of where he landed in the water.
| GM Burglar |
---
---
A second snake lurches down a nearby branch as well, and tries to bite the half-orc! Bite!: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 131d4 - 1 ⇒ (4) - 1 = 3 3 lethal damage, and I need a fort save vs Poison.
---
PCs, in the order of Chelsea, Opal, Kyo, Harboth, Jeb, Grits, Baz are up!

Kyoshiro continues the game show antics, still using his naginata as a balancing aid.
1st 5 ft 1d20 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 - 2 = 18
2nd 5 ft 1d20 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 - 2 = 13
3rd 5 ft 1d20 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 - 2 = 12
| GM Burglar |
Guys, you only gotta roll one Acrobatics per turn, unless you fail the first and try to stand up. In such a case, a second roll is warrented.
Double-checking myself:
Opal Moonstone
|
We only need an Acrobatics check if we move at more than half speed, right? I would like to raise a question about the outcome of my previous action then. I took a 5-foot step from the bridge to the shore. That should not have required a check, so I should still be there, right?

No. It's an Acro. check "TO" move at half speed. Otherwise you just fall.

This. Unless you have Nimble Steps, the balancing-based rogue talent whose name I can't recall, or something, it requires an acrobatics to move at all. Hence why I had everyone taking 10 that could to get across initally. Otherwise, I'd've had everyone 5' stepping the whole way across.

I am assuming next round... If my movement to initiative is an issue, move me back to the last square of the bridge. Standard action is a held action ready to attack something at reach with my naginata OR to challenge a foe and do an iajutsu draw against a foe within my naginata range

Chelsea fires off some magical missiles!
---
Opal summons a rainbow and just walks right out of the water!
---
Kyo moves forward (and queues up his next action)!
---
Harboth cuts himself free and swims over the edge of land! Grits follow along on the bridge, excited to see his master not die (or perhaps he's just happy he's not gator chow!)
---
Jeb clears his gun and is will probably close up his powder horn, protecting 10 doses of powder! He can, if he wants and says so before the next action post, drop the rest of his powder bags on land here!
---
Baz (Still doesn't quite have an action posted!)

The voice speaks up again, as well! “Too too late, filthy intruders! All your prancing through my beautiful forest, and nothing for you remains! The beautiful, beautiful sun will do my job for me, destroy your precious lorestone as soon as it rises, and you are failures, humans are always failures, always always!”

I'm F(*&ed here guys... haven't bought any oils of sunlight etc or potions of darkvision. Can the map be updated to show the area of darkness?

Harboth chuckles as Opal's spell takes effect.
Ha! Looks like it's you whose plans will fail! Particularly when my pointy projectiles pierce your puny hide! Now where the f@*! are ya?
As he proudly pontificates on the puncturing prowess of his potent pointies, Harboth stows his axe and enters the druid circle, looking for likely targets.
Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17
Moved my marvelous man across the map.
