Damn the notification glitch, anyways!
"So, what do you want me to do with the frog? Throw it at her?"
How tall is this chamber anyways? Is she really 50' off the floor?
Brayden Green |
Brennan says: "So, what do you want me to do with the frog? Throw it at her?"
Everyone else misses, or holds.
The quasit hits Iodem with the dagger, and he takes one point of subdual damage.
Yes, the quasit is 50 feet high, at the very tip top of the chapel. THink of this like an underground cathedral. Because that is exactly what it is.
Your turns.
This is fun, none of you hitting or actually attacking her, and her only hitting you for 1 or 2 points a round. We should only be here til February or so. Did I mention that she has a quick heal ability, too?
Just kill the damned thing. :)
Brayden Green |
I suppose you could. It flies perfectly, doing loops and such, so catching it might be a task, but grappling would be super easy.
Perhaps if you all rested, and locked it in there, it might give you more options with magic and stuff.
Also, Jordy - it doesn't have SR, now that I read the updated version more closely, so you can have those (x) amounts of protoplasms back that you used, with a bonus to your shot (let's say, +3 extra). That might help, if not then maybe try to get them back through rest, now that you know what you are up against.
Iodem Toby |
"Can we even hurt this thing? Maybe we should look at trapping it, even when I manage to strike it I seem to hurt it less than this." He gestures to the open dagger wounds with an arrow before knocking it and stepping back and looking wall to wall for any missed detail.
Brennan Darkblade |
Just a quick question. Is the quasit flying down to throw the dagger? Because with a trow range of only 10 feet, that's a lot of range penalties. That's why Brennan isn't throwing any. But, if she's coming down low to throw, Brennan may have a surprise for her.
Brayden Green |
Brennan, you are correct. I haven't been taking that into account. I would like everyone to please take 2 attacks of opportunity each.
Kerdin |
Come here ya little but! Uncle Kerdin would like ta give ya a couple presents in form of AXE
1st Attack 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8 Damage 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
2st Attack 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13 Damage 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
Well, damn me
Brayden Green |
Bugsby hit with one of his protoplasms.
Between iodemm's prior critical, Brennan's hit, zen's critical and hit, and Bugsby protoplasms, the Mister has dropped out of the sky, and lies wrapped up near the altar.
Brayden Green |
Suddenly it goes invisible, but you can see a mess of protoplasmic goo sloshing around
Brennan Darkblade |
"Quick! While it's on the ground!" Brennan rushed over to where the quasit lay thrashing in the goo and waits for someone to get in place to land a few well-struck blows.
dagger 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22
damage 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5 + 1d8 ⇒ 3 SA, if applicable
Brayden Green |
no miss chance, and you can "Coup" it if you want to, it is helpless.
Kerdin |
And wide grind appears on Kerdin face as he sees the point where the quasit is struggling. Approaching it and taking a good wide stance, raising his axe above his head Ya, freaky.. say da hello for ma uncle. Toothpicker was here. and as the axe begin to fall down Hasta la vista, quasit
Damage 3d10 + 12 ⇒ (9, 2, 9) + 12 = 32
Iodem Toby |
Iodem drops his bow drawing his shortsword as he closes the gap circling the thing with the others to limit any chance of escape. His free hand idly checks his wounds, which coats his hand in blood.
Brayden Green |
Uh, ya. Kerdin successfully killed it.
What now?
Kerdin |
Seeing the decapitated quasit Kerdin moves towards its head. Grapping it and giving it a appraisal look I dunno.. Teeth it got and a bit a pointy ones ya. Ya dunno if som collector would da be interested on dat? Or Bugsby, you wanna tak a lookie on it eh? I guess dat is not a typical one her Kerdin asks as his fingers goes to its mouth and begin to bend one of its teeth out
I do apologize for the grotesque image of taking tooth out...those barbarians, you know
Brennan Darkblade |
Brennan snagged the tiny dagger that the thing had been using to poke holes in Iodem. "Mind if I take this?" he said, placing it on the floor near him. He also swiftly moved his hands over the thing's clothing, pockets, or any place other valuables might have been hiding.
search: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26, if needed
Brayden Green |
You find on the small body of the quasit:
+1 cold iron returning dagger, tiara,
black silk gown, obsidian unholy symbol of Lamashtu.
Brayden Green |
The pool glows in the corner of the room up on the stairs.

Brayden Green |
Brennan notices that the small pool flickers a little and then grows a little brighter with the death of the quasit.
Brayden Green |
Flicker flicker.
Flicker flicker flicker.
What do you guys want to do now? The surface people haven't seen you in months, or just a day... Man this has been one loooooooong day :-)
Iodem Toby |
"So that was the thing mentioned in Tsuto's journal, the thing he was going to meet with?.... It seems we have relieved.... Nualia of two strong allies and a few goblins and things.
I need some rest, I also need to find a cloak that isn't painted with so much of my blood.."
He straightens up in the process of popping his back before swiveling his neck side to side making more cracking sounds. He stares at the pool waiting for any word on how it may complicate.
Brennan Darkblade |
"Bugsby, can you tell what's going on with the pool? Is it about to explode, let in a demon, or just mood lighting? As for the loot here, I think it's easily enough for a few gold. The dagger's likely worth the most by far, so if I'm keeping it, I'll hold off on anything else of worth for a while. As for this", he held up the holy symbol, "it may be worth something, but I'd just as soon smash it as carry it around."
Listening to Iodem, Brennan thought We might be in over our heads on this one. Anyone have any ideas? There was a general murmuring of concerned or disturbed voices, but no one had any further suggestions.
Brayden Green |
Bugsby concentrates on it for about a minute, already knowing that it is magical.
It is magic, and old magic. He doesn't understand the principles of it, from a magical standpoint.
you can ask me questions in ooc if you want, to make sure that you have understood everything that has transpired. I will allow that. I
Kerdin |
Patting Bugsby´s shoulder but soon realising its all bloody with marks of fingers and other liquids Kerdin takes his hand back and swipes on his dirty tunic Ya... not sure what it is but you are the one who has the biggest chance to unravel this mystery of... pool
Watching the pool and how it brights a bit Ya know, during that fight was kind of crazy how those monsters focused on me. For a moment I though I was goner but yah! That´s the training ma Ma gave to me harharhar
Going through his new tooth form the quasit Kerdin examined it And this one yar... nothing like I have seen eh? Seems interesting
Iodem Toby |
"I'm not even sure what time it is topside. Let's get out of here if we haven't found anything else. Hopefully Sheriff Hemlock (didn't feel like digging for name or if he had left/returned, excuse me if I'm wrong) has returned or we have a decision to make."
Iodem releases the string on his bow discarding it to his pack and fetching a new one that he holds in his gloved hand. He rolls the shoulder of his bow arm trying to keep it loose.
Bugsby Featherfoot |
Bugsby looks around the room once, trying to make sure they didn't forget anything, and fretting a little on the inside that they didn't do more. "Yes, let's be gone."
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16
Brayden Green |
Sorry, last post got ate.
So you follow your arrows back up to the town and head to the center of town.
It is late at night.
My recommendation is that if any of you can't remember the characters that you do a quick read through of the story up to this point.
Also, we should have someone in charge of that. In my normal (non-online) groups we have a "loot person" and we also have a "NPC person". We are back into the main stroy, so if you all feel a little lost about what to do now, then i suggest a quick repass.
Also, I am off today, so today is a good day to move forward a good potion of the story if anyone has a good idea what to do.
Most the lights are off in town, but the town hall does seem to have some lights on in the upper level.
Brennan Darkblade |
"I agree with Zen. She does need a bath." He flashed a grin at the monk, then continued. "Rest would be good before we report in. But, perhaps we should send a runner with a note saying that we will report there in the morning."
I've still got the loot list running"
Iodem Toby |
"It won't take long to explain the situation to Hemlock. I can run there, if I hurry I might still be able to get a warm meal at the Rusty Dragon. Anyway, I don't know about you but he better deputize me for all the work we've been putting in. I wouldn't mind a stable income or position of some prestige."
Brennan Darkblade |
"You do realize that as a deputy, you would be obligated to return all the gains from these little forays to either the original owners - if you could find them - or to the city. Instead of making a good," Brennan did some mental calculations, "200 some-odd gold in this last few days, you would be pulling in a 2 gold/week salary, augmented by bribes as best you can."
Brayden Green |
By the way, hemlock is gone checking into the goblin uprisings, with Shalelu Andosana, the wicked cool elf chick you ate dinner with.
Iodem Toby |
So I was right in thinking he was still gone. Magnimar is what; a couple days away? probably won't be back before we do whatever we decide.
"You make a solid case, I don't suppose they'd mind if they didn't know about what I found. hmmm....
Well if he still hasn't returned, I'm going to see if there is anything warm to eat at the Rusty Dragon. So much to think about."
Bugsby Featherfoot |
Bugsby pipes up, "I plan to go check on Ameiko. Tomorrow we should interrogate Tsuto, and see if he can give us clews as to what we're dealing with. Besides ugly monsters of course." Bugsby sets off to check on his friend, and make sure she got out with Tsuto without a problem.
Brayden Green |
Ameiko is fine, and she is actually at the rusty dragon.
The mayor is there as well, and it seems like you are just getting there for the main event.
