You open the door in whatever the hell order, and you enter what looks like an immense underground cathedral.

Stone doors stand to either side of the main entrance, but
beyond this, the walls are carved with strange, spiky
runes. In the center of the room is a large pool,
with a ring of polished human skulls balanced on
stone spikes arranged in a circle around the deeper
midsection. At the far end of the room, a pair of
stone stairways leads up to a pulpit on which sits
a second pool, this one triangular and filled with
churning, bubbling water that looks almost like
translucent lava. Yet while wisps of what look
like heat and steam rise from the strange orange
liquid, the room itself is deathly cold.

You also see *THIS CREATURE* in the middle of the room, sweeping the floor. It looks shocked to see you. It is in the middle of the room.

You are acting in a surprise round, Roll INIT.

Combat map coming.

It is in the last room of the caverns, to give you a reference.

Result of Surprise Round.

Iodem busts into the door, seeing the creature sweeping the floor - surprised to see any intruders. Without word, and no questions asked, Iodem fires at the creature. Perhaps it was being tired, perhaps he remembers something about a quasit working with Tsuto, but his arrow flies true towards the creature. True, but not true enough. And the arrow misses.

Kerdin charges and misses.

Zen maneouvers to flank.

Bugsby hits the creature, and it appears to be slowed for a second, but then quickly regains its composure.

Virgil invokes the saints and stands at the ready to help anyone that may need healing or assisting.

Brennan also maneovers to flank.

End of surprise round.

The quasit flaps it's wings to fly, and maneuvers itself in front of the basin at the far end of the room. It cuts itself and lets some blood trickle into the basin at the end of the chamber.

The lights coming from the basin diminish and flicker ominously.

(Give me a sense motive and your round 2 actions.)

The rest of round 1:

IODEM Iodem (clearly not liking his last several shots) presses for another. Not even bothering to exhale before hastily firing off another arrow. He misses with this one too.

KERDIN moves up the stairs as fast as he can, and manages to get to one side of the quasit.

The quasit yells Defilers of the Mother Creature! You will all pay!"

BUGSBY casts daze, and it has no effect.

VIRGIL races up to the basin of the stairs and grips his holy symbol. "Sentire tenaci damnationem!" He points an accusing finger toward the demon and a bubbling of crackling black energy pulsates from his symbol of Abadar and washes over the demon. When the bubble reaches Virgil's companions, it seems to twist and pinch like a sausage casing to avoid touching them.

BRENNAN moves forward as far as he can, waiting for his opportunity.

End of round 1. The stairs have a double movement penalty on them, so none of you were able to reach AND attack. You are flanking, those that had the movement to do so, though.

Beginning of round 2:

You see a creature rise from the basin where the quasit cut itself, and the light fades again... and in it's place is a (sinspawn) freaky thing that you recognize from the other rooms. It sniffs the air, and attacks Kerdin. Almost as if he hated Kerdin and wanted his destruction.

I will take the best attack at this monster coming, and let it happen before the monster gets a chance to move, as "Virgil" is using his round to identify this and give you time to prepare. Because I'm nice... And I fear for your lives :) Everyone else's will go towards the quasit, or you will have to do something different.

End of round 3. Round 3 results: Spider died.

Round 4:

The quasit finishes motioning with her hands while hovering, and suddenly a ... very, very small frog appears in the water.

She also throws her dagger at Iodem.

1d20 + 11 ⇒ (20) + 11 = 311d2 ⇒ 2 to confirm 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (6) + 11 = 171d2 ⇒ 2

It doesn't confirm. Iodem takes 2 damage, as the tiny blade sinks in. (I don't know what you have been imagining, but the creature in the room is "tiny" not medium sized. I probably should have explained that better, lol.)

Interestingly enough, the tiny blade pulls itself out of Iodem and returns back to the quasit.

Your turns. Round 4.

His eyes following the knife as it returns to the quasit he shuffles forward. Iodem fires another arrow along the knife's return trajectory.

1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 281d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

Wow, the dice-roller is showing me no love today.

Round 4:
Bugsby notes the frogs appearance and rushes for the basin, "We can't let blood get in the water!". He reaches in and pulls the frog free, dropping it to the ground as quickly as he snatched it up. He'll detect magic on the water if he has a standard action left, which I don't believe he does...

Round 4:

"What's that about the frog's blood?" Brennan called, pulling his strike at the last moment. He contemplated lobbing a knife at the quasit, but decided the thing was just too far our of range for that to be feasible.

Sigh. The Paizo site makes me want to punch someone sometimes.

THe post monster ate two long posts from me, one by phone and one by cpu.

Iodem critted.

The quasit dropped about 10 feet as it was struck right above the heart by Iodems arrow.

End of round 4. The water is not magical. However the liquid in the basin at the top of the stairs is magical.

Beginning of rd 5.

The tiny quasit throws its dagger at Iodem, hitting him for 2 damage.
