@Zie: I believe that Inspire applies to splash.

Ziebodug chucks a bomb at the bat, but the nimble creature is able to dodge the explosive and only suffers minor burns from the splash of the bomb.

Jim tumbles in, though he thinks it was unnecessary after he flubs the somersault and the creature doesn't lash out at him, however his blade cannot find purchase in the creature as it barely slants at the last moment and skitters off the creature's hard exterior.

With a roar, the creature sends out an ear-piercing scream that causes everyone to clench their ears in pain.

As the group heals up from their wounds, you see liberal amounts of blood pour from the paralyzed Jace's ears as his Life Link transfers your wounds to him.

If it is an extract, then he can't use it and the mutagen as consuming both are each a standard action. If it is a potion, which is what he said it was, then he could drink both, but they would both need to be in his hand at the start of the round.

@Elena: You know that maintaining Inspire is a free action right? You can do other actions, if you wish.

Zie can take a potion as a move action and mutagens are listed as a standard action. I'm open to errata or other paizo board consensus, but that's what the class feature says in my book.

I went back over the text and Zie was saying that he was carrying both in a previous post, but I just want to clarify that if it is a potion, then he is fine. If it is an extract, then you cannot use the extract and mutagen in the same round as they are both standard actions.

Sorry - work kicked my butt this week... didn't mean to go quiet. Yes, Zie pulled them out in prep, but it was an extract and not a potion. For some reason, I guess I didn't differentiate - and even changed wording between the grabbing and the drinking. But doing a little research, I see that these are not equivalent. Potions generally take a move action to get and a standard to drink, whereas extracts are free to get, but standard to drink. Seems weird that one could guzzle a potion and not an extract, but dem's da rules... so given that, Zie would first have taken the mutagen, as it lasts longer.


@Zie: Roger that! To note, you have a set of actions this turn with mutagen active!

@Elena: This is true about the no repeated saves, though it may help in the near future.

Elena quickly blesses Raj as he seems to be overcoming the blast to his eardrums as Zie looks like he might falter in the face of the ghoulish bat.

@Raj: The creature is still alive and kicking.

The bat howls as Zie tears at the creature with his claws and teeth, but it still stands after the onslaught as Elena closes in and heals up the valiant Jace.

As Zie tries to rip off some flesh with his newly grown incisors, he finds the creature's flesh rocky and unpalatable, but one of his claws comes back with some necrotic flesh, much to his delight.

As Jace moves into triage mode, Raj is fortunate enough to land three direct hits with his arrows, however the ghoulish bat remains standing and continues to lash out against those in front of him.

Yah, it's not your fault. I even have an "active conditions" on my tagline, but for some reason fail to add group benefits. I will try harder :)


With a flurry of claws and teeth, Zie brings the creature down to its second death with the aid of Elena's encouragement. As the creature falls, it begins to disintegrate into dust.

Two of the three dead humans among the skaveling's victims are long-dead Varisian nomads with nothing of much value on their remains. The third, however, is a corpse with only a single arm. You can tell the man lived this way as the wound over the shoulder of the missing appendage is fully healed.

Kn. Local DC 20:
This corpse is likely of notorious one-armed bandit Shaz "Redshiv" Bilger, suspected of organizing the robbery of nearly two dozen merchant convoys along the Lost Coast Road over the past decade. You know that proof of his demise presented to the law at Magnimar is worth a 500 GP reward.

Of more immediate monetary gratification, though, is the third corpse's surviving gear, which consists of a pearl ring worth 300 GP, an adamantine longsword, a hat of disguise, and a scattering of 56 GP.

To address Elena's point, from now on, if you fail to add any buffs twice in a row, then they stop counting on that second time and every time you forget for the rest of the encounter. If you forget to add buffs for multiple encounters, then this might be shortened to the first time you forget.

If you think it would help, then I can add a line about spells in the combat recap, but I need every spell or buff that is cast to state the name, duration, targets and benefit. E.g. - Good Hope, 10 min. - Zie, Elena, Jace - +2 morale bonus on saving throws, attack rolls, ability checks, skill checks, and weapon damage rolls. If all that information isn't provided, then I will not list it in the recap as I am not going to look it up.

@Raj: Please don't wait to see if the creature is still up. All this does is potentially add an extra day to each round of combat. Maybe you had a plan, but from my end, it seems that if the creature was still standing, then you would just fire off three more arrows, which you could easily post without seeing if the creature is still standing, right?

Clarification on earlier: By it not applying for the rest of the encounter, I mean that if you forget to apply it later in the encounter, then it won't be added in, but if you do remember, then, of course, you can add the buffs.
