Jim Seeker
"It's true. I'd heard Sandpoint was attacked. Women and children running for their lives, just waiting for a proper hero to come save them." Jim says with a smile. "But I was miles from here when it happened, so I can't really say for sure."
Jace Devak

Jace grimaces. Man or woman does not matter both can be corruptible, but children you say.....I would like to know more about this myself.
Jace Devak

And I can't have you dying on me until I find my answers...
Grasping a pendant at his neck Jace releases a blinding radiating light from his body healing everyone nearby.
Channel positive Energy: 2d6 + 1 ⇒ (6, 6) + 1 = 13
Fey Foundling- caster receives +2 hp for each dice rolled
Blessed Touch- +1 to any heal
Seeing that most are still injured Jace releases another wave of healing energy
Channel positive Energy: 2d6 + 1 ⇒ (6, 6) + 1 = 13
Fey Foundling- caster receives +2 hp for each dice rolled
Blessed Touch- +1 to any heal
That should hold you over until I find the answers I seek.
Elena Lovain
"You might be blind to the horrors your goblin bosses are capable of, but you are quite a skilled healer. I've not felt this good all day today!"
Elena turns. "Well, let's go find this Nualia, and figure out what she's been doing." Elena reaches out and plucks the wand of Magic Missiles from the hand of the mage. "And I'll be taking this for the time being. If you prove you won't stab us in the back, I'll give it back to you later."
Jim Seeker
I actually already grabbed that wand, so you'd be plucking it from my pack. But just as well. I took the armor off of Broon. We're all apparently just that close.
"I agree. 'Nualia' sounds worth meeting, to me. Then we should head to the town and be welcomed as heroes!" Jim says with a smile.
Elena Lovain
Sorry Jim...I missed that entirely. I figured Elena could actually use it, as we have a long time yet to go I'm afraid, lol!
Jace Devak

Not quite sure if you are indeed done searching this floor so stop me if I am getting ahead as the map looked like everything was open.
Grabbing his shield and bastard sword Jace beginss to escort the group down the stairs to the next level.
GM Bold Strider
And no one wants to do anything before you approach Nualia, led by Jace?
A stone door just around the corner from the steps hangs slightly ajar, the detailed carvings that once covered its surface defaced by chisel marks and hammer blows to the extent that only a few remnants of images (mostly of gemstones and crowns) remain. The floor here is slanted downward toward the west.
Beyond this staircase lies a room with two pillars supporting the ceiling. In many places the stone walls, floor, and ceiling are caked with ancient grime and soot. Alcoves in the north and south walls contain partially damaged statues of a man in robes clutching a book and a glaive. The entire room is canted toward the west, and whatever ancient upheaval caused the complex to tilt knocked the statues from their bases so that now they lean against the western walls of their alcoves.

Elena Lovain
Yeah, Elena doesn't have any predatory magic, so nothing I need to do.
Elena casts Detect Magic, looking at the statues. Maybe something there is magical. This group needs all the help we can get.
"So where is this Nualia? I can't wait to hear what she has to say!"
Glaucus Circe
Glaucus used up all his magic and his scrolls of mage armor. Not sure if the second casting would still be active or if we've been in here for more than two hours. Either way, he has no magic left to prep with.
Glaucus grunts at Elena. "Not sure I want to listen. Most of the people and goblins in here haven't been worth listening to."
Jim Seeker
Jim imagines himself engaged in swordplay with the statued figure while the others fuss about... whatever it is they fuss about.
My magic is pretty well spent too.
Elena Lovain
Did all of us get a piece of the magical elven cookies that can reup our magic? If so, eat those now!
Jace Devak
|
Heading past the statues Jace stops partway in the hallway.
She is down here somewhere.... You see she has the area trapped. Only she is able to disable it. He says pointing to the area on the floor to avoid.
Cupping his hand over his mouth Jace bellows down the hallway.
Nualia, are you here M'lady? I have information and seek some answers if you would spare a moment to speak?
GM Bold Strider
Your nice friendly elf ranger gave you eight after the fight with the flame sword druid in front of the bridge. I have been wondering why you never use them and instead almost die every time.
From the end of the hallway, a striking beautiful Aasimar steps out with metal greaves and shoulderpads. Her left arm is lean and clawed, striking a sharp dissonance with her beauty.
"It looks like you brought friends, Jace." she comments nonchalantly. "Tsuto said that they had taken you and Lyrie hostage, but it seems as if you are leading them now. Care to explain, pet?"
Elena Lovain
"Friends don't normally talk to other friends like that, Jace. Unless you two have a special relationship you haven't told us about."
Glaucus Circe
I remembered them but Glau already had one earlier and is wary about the side-effects of eating too many. But ok:
Glaucus eyes the bread suspiciously before savagely devouring it and heading down with the others. "Pet? I'm the only animal here, lady, and you'd better explain what you think you're doing with all them goblins."
Jace Devak
|
Friends? Leading? Jace looks confused.
These intruders come bearing accusations against our cause and I am simply hearing them out is all. Are you intentionally killing innocent women in children!?
Jim Seeker
Jim hasn't been told about this bread, and he'd have to break out his alchemy kit all over again anyway.
Jim notes the awkward tension and makes a face, trying to avoid eye contact with either of them.
GM Bold Strider
"Well, you certainly aren't a captive as you still have your sword and you have led them to me." she responds to his confusion.
"So the group of intruders who, by all accounts of Tsuto, were on the verge of death before he came to inform me of their arrival have somehow healed their wounds..." the woman looks at Jace disapprovingly. "So, you bring them to me after they ostensibly murdered everyone else to get to you. Then, you have the gall to question my motives after I saved you and gave you a purpose? Let me know, when I am wrong, you insolent traitor." she interjects as her voice become tinged with venom.
"Let me be clear. There are no innocent men, women or children in Sandpoint or anywhere else. So, to answer your loaded question, no. I am not killing innocent women and children." she says rudely.
Elena Lovain
"So you are saying no one is innocent? Not even little babies? Are you sure this position is one you are comfortable in taking, Jace?"
Jim Seeker
Bold has a good point. But Jim is neutral, so he has no moral high ground to defend.
Jim notes the question and is suddenly very concerned about the cleanliness of his blades.
Broon
Would the bread bring back daily abilities too? With spells back, Broon would precast ProtEvil. Now this round Detect Evil at will, totally assuming she is evil
"That litter upstairs? Goblin maggots, incapable of anything but evil. Evil gods - evils deeds. Humans aren't perfect but we are capable of Good. But enough talk, I sense evil in you, and I suspect this day you'll want proof the old fashion way of might makes right, so let's get to it!

Yes, the biscuits act in every way like a full night's sleep.
Broon finds that his Detect Evil gaze doesn't seem to be working. As he focuses on Nualia, his begins to feel the pain in his temple, similar to a migraine.
Initiative:
Glaucus: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Broon: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20
Elena: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
Jim: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19
Nualia: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
EDIT: Jace: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
"Good luck with that." she says as she waves her hand nonchalantly, black smoke wisping out of her nails and coating her body as her physique becomes much more defined.

Jace's face turns stern. Yes, you gave me purpose, but not to kill innocents. I joined you to build a better world. All I have heard so far as that these people are just defending themselves.
Jace's face turns to rage. No innocent men, women or children? NO INNOCENT MEN, WOMEN OR CHILDREN? Nualia....listen to yourself. If you kill everyone then there will be nothing left. That is not the way to make this a better place.... Jace becomes somber.
GM Bold Strider
She practically snorts as she laughs. "Have your new friends left any survivors behind? Feel free to ask them. Either way, they will be purged from this world, just like your a traitor through and through. Never should have gave a traitor to his order a second chance..." she says regretfully.
Her smile brightens. "Oh well, you will be dead soon enough."
Jace Devak
|
They gave myself and Lyrie a chance to explain ourselves and left us to survive. I am branded a traitor and you threaten to kill everyone for asking a simple question? What has become of you? Jace's body shakes in a mixture of fear and confusion
GM Bold Strider
Broon's beseeches his god to allow him to Smite Evil on Nualia, but his calls go unanswered. The headache inside his head amplifies as his holy powers seem to be failing him.
His vines whip towards Nualia but she easily deflects them as she whips her sword through the air, slicing them with ease. Didn't hit her CMD.
"Lamashtu has shown me what needs to be done. Killing the bastard known as my father was only the first step. Everyone in Sandpoint will die for what they have done to me!" she bellows at Jace.

2nd: Nualia
3rd: Glaucus @ 27/27 HP; Elena @ 21/21; Jace @ 29/29 HP
Glaucus Circe
Are you sure you are comfortable trying to claim that babies are innocent after you just murdered a whole nursery of them?
To be fair, I think Glaucus led the charge on murdering the goblin babies.
Jim Seeker
"Killing you will make me a hero!" Jim declares as he moves in with weapons drawn.

Jim rushes forward as the woman smirks. She doesn't even flinch as Jim launches at her with his sword when suddenly two portcullises drop down on either side of Jim, trapping him a few feet from Nualia. "Brashness will be the death of you."
The statues of to the north and south of Jim begin to animate as Nualia casts another spell. This time the wisps of dark smoke coalesce around her eyes, elongating her eyelashes and tinting her irises yellow.
Initiative:
