Trevor curses as he gets nailed by the mohrg. He pushes against the undead to get clear of it.

CMB to break grapple: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (12) + 17 = 29

Free, he slips away from the undead, risking being attacked again in order to put the fauchard between him and it.

Move to K7, probably getting an AoO...

Trevor, yes you do get it. Rowena forgot to factor in Trevor's Aura of Justice. Very timely! His displacement backfired this time.

Quintus, Kelkzar, Rauno...since I forgot about the smite the spell did not go off. Quintus if that changes your action this round feel free to amend it, I'll assume Rauno would have done the same action if the spell had been fizzled. (Correct me if I am wrong)

Trevor hits the Mohrg as it crashed into him.

Aided by Trevor's smiting ability, Rowena interrupts the spell and severely wounds the undead Marquis as he ascends to the ceiling. While still alive, he clearly isn't doing so well.

Trevor breaks free of the grapple due to the Morgh charging him. As Trevor moves away the Mohrg lashes out its tongue.

AoO Touch Attack: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (12) + 10 = 22
Fort Save DC 19 or be paralyzed for: 1d4 ⇒ 4 Minutes

You are correct; Rauno's round 2 action still would have been prescience/greater dispel magic. His prescience isn't good enough to know how bad he'd roll!

OK, going with Quintus' second choice.

The priest takes a short step forward and again raises his ankh high. "Your time is come, by the Everlight's hand!"

Casting holy smite. It's a 20' radius burst, so if possible he'll try to catch all three of the enemy. If it isn't he'll focus on the Marquis.

Spell damage; DC 18 Fort for half damage and to avoid being blinded for a round: 5d8 ⇒ (4, 7, 7, 2, 2) = 22

Trevor is hit as he tries to move and gets paralyzed in place.

Quintus casts a spell bursting out positive energy, catching all of the undead. I tried visualizing this in a 3d way and apparently my brain is too tired today so I figured it would work!

Will Save Mohrg #1: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 9 = 17

The Mohrg that grappled Trevor is blinded, so when Trevor breaks free it cannot take an AoO on him so he is not Paralyzed.

Ah, need to read up on these high level paladin benes! It actually winds up being a net +3 since its a deflection bonus. So AC is 22/14/22. But I guess that also improves my attack roll from a 19 to a 24 and increases damage from 32 to 43 (and maybe even 54 if the double damage condition kicks in).

I called smite on The Marquis. The bonuses to hit and damage won't apply to the Morghs.

Normally rounds go the same way no matter the order you post, however in the last two rounds we have had some timely spells that changed how things worked. I generally stay in the order you are in initiative unless someone says they delay ready. So since Quintus went before Trevor in the round and blinded the Mohrg you were fighting, I change the outcome as it wouldn't have provoked.

Ok as Trevor pointed out that bonus only applies to the Marquis. Also for those that hasn't attacked him yet, I think don't get the bonus Allies must use this smite evil ability by the start of the paladin's next turn and the bonuses last for 1 minute.

Also, the Wind Walk is still in effect. I had Rowena move up to the Marquis after he levitated. Remember to move up you have to move at a 45 degree angle so that cuts down some of your movement. I think it works out to like 2/3 of your movement. (30' goes to 20', etc)

Kelkzar moves into the battle with the Mohrgs underneath Rowena and the Marquis, but is unable to connect.

The blinded Morgh tries to clear his vision without success.

The other Mohrg returns its attacks on Kelkzar. It slams into Kelkzar twice and holds him twice as his tongue tries to paralyze him. 28 Damage on 2 hits, you are grappled, and Fort Save DC 19 or be paralyzed for 1 minute

The Marquis is obviously not happy with how things have progressed so far. He attacks Rowena, including trying to bite her. While the attacks with the sword hit, he is obviously frustrated his bit did not. 39 Damage on 2 hits

Greatsword Attack #1: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (18) + 17 = 35 *Hit*

A scan of the Marquis equipment by Rowena reveals that he has a cloak, greatsword, ring, lantern, two wands, 4 potions, and course the seal. When Rauno sees the seal, its aura is overwhelming and knocks his concentration off for a moment. He knows that this item is an artifact.

Ok, it took about 3 minutes to get down here from the stairs that led to the door. At most you just spent 2 minutes down here so that leaves you 15 minutes or so of air walk. Depending on how time time you spend down here you definitely have time to make it back to the stairs (3 minutes), and from here to the top is about 6 minutes (assuming no encounters)

Shall we bring the seal to Icosiel's tomb, or back to the spider? I for one vote for bringing it to the tomb first and seeing what we can see."

"Yes, yes. The book and its contents are dear to me, but not nearly as important as our overall mission."

OK, knowing you have time, Rauno spends a couple minutes identifying the items, and leaving the Seal for Quintus to handle.

The seal is a disc of crystal about a foot in diameter, carved from a single large quartz crystal and polished to a glossy finish. The side facing up has three Vaati runes on it, the same ones that Rauno translated in the room with the black pudding - Pesh, Aaqa, and Icosiol.

Rauno id's the magic items as greatsword +2, cloak of the bat, ring of protection +2, ghoul-light lantern, wand of enervation (14 charges), wand of halt undead (20 charges), potion inflict moderate wounds (4).

Quintus, the seal is there. Let me know if you do anything unusual before you pick it up

Ghoul Lantern:
These eldritch lanterns are used by true ghouls to light their cities and to augment their undead minds. Although they can see in the dark, they find the necromantic green glow of the ghoul-light comforting.

A ghoul-light lantern can be commanded to shed its sickly green glow as a move action. Once activated, the glow illuminates a 20-foot radius and provides shadowy illumination out to a 40-foot radius. Living flesh illuminated by ghoul-light feels strangely cold and clammy, while undead within the light feel more energetic. Any living creature within 20 feet of a source of ghoul-light takes a – 1 penalty on Will saves and all Charisma checks (including turn undead checks and all Charisma-based skills).

Undead within 20 feet of a source of ghoul-light gain a + 1 profane bonus on Will saves and Charisma checks. Ghoul-light is treated as bright illumination against creatures with light sensitivity.

All creatures exposed to ghoul-light begin to glow softly themselves with the nasty green light. This glow does not provide additional illumination, but it does affect all creatures within 20 feet of the source as if by faerie fire, thus reducing the effectiveness of invisibility, displacement, and similar effects.

"I wonder how long the Marquis and the Spider have been at odds. I would say we should make sure what this seal does before anything else."

Pesh.....Aaqa....Icosi***COUGH**. OK, then. I said the words.

Quintus picks up the Seal after saying the words. He feels a sense of approval.

Rauno will coach Quintus on the pronunciation as best he can before he takes up the seal. He beams with pride when it turns out to be successful.

Rauno also takes great pride in describing the arcane properties of the items recovered, pleased to feel useful.

On the back side of the seal, there is a depiction of a Wind Duke holding the seal up before a pair of massive black doors while standing on a floating disc of air about the same size as the seal itself.

"Thank you for the help, Rauno. Let's get back to those doors while my spell is still running."

It take a few minutes to get back up to the area with the doors.

The walls and floor of this cave have obviously been partially finished by stone workers. More impressive by far are the massive, fifty-foot-tall doors to the north. These dull black doors are carved with both gigantic and tiny runes, some at eye level and others much larger. The metal of the door seems pristine and freshly forged.

Rauno you can try once again to make the Will Save DC 21 to approach the doors.

I would estimate you have 8-9 minutes left of air walk at this point.

Rauno closes his eyes as they approach the top of the stairs. He silently addresses the magic as though it were a living entity. I mean no harm. I only wish to aid my allies in fulfilling their mission. Repeating that mantra to himself, he tries to advance.

Will 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (4) + 10 = 14

Alas, the power does not relent. Rauno's face flushes with anger. I shall not be turned away!

Spending a hero point to reroll.

Will 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (19) + 10 = 29

Forcing himself forward as though walking against a powerful gale that none of the others can feel, Rauno struggles through several strides forward before he appears to go to normal.

Sweating from the apparent effort, Rauno smiles at the others. "It would appear I am worthy after all."
