Krokod Firetongue |
Krokod sees the fellow pop up and curses in the language of fire and looks to the others to see if anyone wants to take a shot at breaking the bolted door open
Brand Firestorm |
Guessing the hinges would be on the other side. Breaking our way in seems the only real alternative.
Brand studies the room that they've dropped into while the others look at jimmying the door.
Novennia Wintrish |
Novennia nods to brand and rushes over to the trapdoor. Taking a moment to adjust her posture, keeping her sword poised, she stomps on the door as hard as she can, attempting to break it off its hinges.
Strength: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
She hisses a curse and looks at the others. "Don't just stand there; help me out!"
Nebuchcanezzar |
Like a bolt of lightning inspiration struck the mind of Nebuchcanezzar...
Neb calmly creates a network of wind between him and his compatriots (message)
My fellows I have an idea, let us play to the tieflings natural fears and pretend that we have come to cleanse them in the name of Iomedae! Just follow my lead, if we do this right we will terrify them all...
Novennia Wintrish |
Novennia jumps at the voice in her head, but quickly puts two and two together. "Sure," she mutters back, "and remind me to find out what everyone's capabilities are."
Delgata Pesur |
Del climbs back into the bell-tower with his new crossbow, he is now on look out.
Nebuchcanezzar |
Neb prepares himself and bellows in his best "I am a religious, tiefling hating fanatic voice"...
Fellow Iomedeans long have we suffered the stain of the infernal in our beloved city! But no more! Today we purge the taint from this city, start the fire my fellows and burn this den of corruption to the ground! They may be resistant to fire but I can assure you that they will still choke and die from the Smoke! Our comrades in arms have surrounded the building as well there is no escape for the foul hellspawn!
bluff (terrify the tieflings)1d20 + 10 ⇒ (17) + 10 = 27
Yix |
Yix smiles at Neb. Hope for this gang yet. He moves his paws and whispers, covering the group in a veil of magic. He makes everybody appear to be a fully armored hellknight, hiding their features.
Silent image. I'll have the group get closer together if necessary to stay within the bounds of the spell.
Novennia Wintrish |
Novennia compliantly stays within the boundaries of Yix's spell, hoping it works. "Show yourselves, Hellspawn! Surrender to the law, or this temple will be your grave!" To the others, she hisses in a low tone, "We don't really plan to burn down a temple of Erastil, do we?!"
Nebuchcanezzar |
Novennia don't break our plans by acting out! As for burning this place I was never a pious man, plus this place isn't exactly Erastil's domain anymore... Remember that we happen also happen to be hiding in an abandoned temple at the moment...
Nebuchcanezzar |
Fellow Iomedians burn the damn thing!
As neb says this he points at brand and Krokod and indicates that they should begin the burning...
[spoiler=Message to all]
By burning the door we will create smoke, if anyone is down there we will hear a choking sound or the sound of someone trying to get away from the smoke...
Novennia Wintrish |
Novennia stares at Neb for a moment, one eyebrow raised in a You've got to be kidding me expression. "To hell with it," she mutters. "I'm with Yix on this one." With that, she begins attempting to break the trapdoor open.
Strength: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10 Yikes. Gonna need some help here, lads.
Delgata Pesur |
Seriously, this is the plan?
What type of roof is the church made of? Slate, wood shingle, thatched?
Are there windows on the side, big enough to propel down and crash through?
Chimneys? Other features on the roof?
Could you describe the trap door room better? Is there any other features that would look out of place?
Novennia Wintrish |
Just gonna make a few more Strength checks, then.
Saying a long string of most unladylike words, Novennia continues attempting to break down the trap door.
Strength: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15
Strength: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
GM Birch |
I'm not going to wait a few days for enough decent rolls - assume the trap-door is broken
You make short work of the trap-door. As you look down you see two wooden tables set up for playing simple card and dice games. Four chairs are set up near each table. In the northeast corner is a stack of small wooden crates, to the north is a pair of water barrels, and on the far west side of the room is a small table. A hallway to the northwest turns out of view, and the interior wall of the temple’s belltower takes a corner out of the southeast part of the room. The place smells of sweat, beer, and dog.
And talking of dog, there is a mangy one-eared guard dog that is now making a racket and looking up at you.
Delgata Pesur |
Really? If only regular cats could do that. The city would be overrun by their kind. Good job!
Follows into the room, new shiny crossbow at the ready.
Novennia Wintrish |
Damnit, I wasted a 20 on that last roll!
Novennia drops down after the others, pausing a moment to scratch the dog's ears. She straightens, keeping her greatsword drawn, and begins searching the room, remembering that there were people in here just a minute ago. She makes sure to check under the tables, and behind the barrels and creates.
Delgata Pesur |
Can any of you majik casters brighten up the darkness? I'de imagine it is harder to ambush people with the light on. I will go first looking for any traps these cockroaches may of left. But leave me some room so I can run away if they out number me. I am good but not so good if there are multiple demon devils swinging at me. Forward?
When everyone is ready Del will start down the stairs looking for traps. If at all the light goes out he runs away to the back of the group.
perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7 Whooooo!
Novennia Wintrish |
Novennia waits with the others, but keeps her greatsword drawn. Seeing Krokod fidget, she nudges him gently in the ribs, raising an eyebrow. You ok? she mouths silently,
