Moving the puzzle discussion over here.
First things first: are we in a rush to solve the puzzle? My thought was to focus on the guardians, and then work on solving the puzzle. Obviously, we were making Knowledge rolls to understand the puzzle at the same time that the guardians appeared, but that doesn't mean we have to solve and fight at the same time, right?
Otherwise, this one doesn't actually seem too hard to figure out, but I've honestly not even attempted to put the pieces together yet, figuring we'd tackle it after combat.

There's always the chance that solving the puzzle might stop the statues. Kind of a gamble to take, but possibly something to consider if the combat goes south.
Honestly though, I'm not quite sure what the solution is but I haven't actually thought hard about it yet either. :P The only thing I got right now is that the blue lantern should go to the statue of Amenopheous and the red lantern to the Ruby Sage.

I'm fine with taking the statues down and working on the puzzle later at our leisure but we should be prepared for the possibility that we are racing against time in some way (like more statues might crop up, or something). Be that as it may, I'm glad that both of you have some ideas about how to solve it! :-)

FYI - a combination of pneumonia and moving house means I'll be offline for most the week. And the week after that (if alive) I'll be at GenCon.

Batpony, I think you said that you are going on vacation around August 8? Do you think it's likely that we'll have chronicles for this one before that? I've got Hoprah signed up to play something during Gameday 7 which starts on August 13 so I should make alternative plans if there's a good chance that we'll still be going then.
Also, are you planning to continue the Scarab Sages arc after this trilogy? I think you had mentioned Unseen Inclusion, which I've already played, but I would be interested in rejoining the group for other parts of the arc, depending on what and when.

I'm confident we can wrap this up with chronicles issued before game day! And I'll ensure it.
With regards to possibly continuing, I'm afraid I'll have to hold that decision for a bit. I've been given a new role at work which has required more time of me. While I intend to continue my online presence, I may have to cut back some games..

Craft (alchemy), alchemist's lab: 1d20 + 12 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 12 + 2 = 17
Craft (alchemy), alchemist's lab, shirt reroll: 1d20 + 12 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 12 + 2 = 34
Hoprah |
Craft (Tattoo): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18
Using reroll
Craft (Tattoo), stars: 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 7 + 2 = 16 Lol
Also, Hoprah will check a box on her Scarab Sages faction card for having 4 ranks in Knowledge (Arcana).
Thanks for running, GM! This has been a great run through this trilogy. I played the 3rd part back when I was first starting out in PFS and I had no idea what was going on. I'm really glad I finally got a chance to follow the whole story and it makes a lot more sense of some of my favorite (later) scenarios in the Scarab Sages plotline.
