So out of curiosity, where's everybody posting from? I'm in the SF Bay Area, so Pacific Standard Time.

I don't know any of you folks but I think I've seen you around a while, jlighter. You wouldn't happen to have had a different avatar previously, would you? Like a dude in a blue cloak or something like that? Or have you always had the dragon creature? Just curious really. Odds are I probably got you mixed up with someone else.

I just hate it when I see a name an think to myself, "Is that that same dude?"

It's like seeing someone in RL for the first time in like 8 or 9 months, and you KNOW you've seen them SOMEWHERE before but you just can't place them. I hate that feeling. I always tell myself, "I'm gonna go ask where I've seen them before." 'Course, I sometimes don't and then kick myself for not asking because then it just bugs me. :P

I change my avatar once in a while. Before the dragon, it was a ghoul. Don't remember what it was before that. I've gone through a few, though.

@DM: I think I've got Droguk finally up to date. Odds are there's something I've missed, so, will go and check that out just in case. Otherwise, I think he's ready to roll.

Pezmerga, this is Phillip0614 checking in. Do you mind if I change the character's name from Darius Kaplan to Cyrus Laskaris? I like the flow of that name better. Also, thanks a ton for the selection! I've been looking forward to playing in a Reign of Winter game for a long time and to finally be given the opportunity is awesome and I appreciate it very much!

I'm posting from near Macon, Georgia, so I'm on EST. And Javell, I know that feeling all too well. I absolutely hate it when I see an old student of mine out somewhere that I've not seen for a while and I can't remember their name.

Looking through all the flaws and trying to decide on a good one or two to take. I'm thinking I may stick with just one, but there are several options that I'm considering.

I'm thinking of writing him out as being extremely protective of people he travels with, viewing them as under his care, and taking Implacable to represent his refusal to leave companions out in the cold...pun intended.

I was also looking at Chivalrous Courtesy, Terrain Specialist, and Brash. Decisions, decisions.

Also, my plan for the character is to take ten levels of ranger and then prestige into Mammoth Rider. Have y'all ever seen that prestige class? One of the few that I've seen in Pathfinder that I was just immediately taken with.

@Phillip: Not Chivalrous Courtesy. Too many women witches.

Terrain Specialist is way too limiting. It's possible you'd be stuck with those negatives far more often than not.

I'd roll with Implacable or Brash. Probably Brash.

Of course these are just my thoughts on it. I don't know the exact personality of your character so all I can throw out there is a penny or two. :)

As far as the Mammoth Rider... that is freaking awesome, dude. That would be a lot o' dang fun for sure. Moving across the land on a Woolly Mammoth or some such? Stepping on one enemy after another. Fun!

Yeah, the sheer fact we'll be fighting so many witches made me hesitant on Chivalrous Courtesy. I probably am going to go with one of the two you mentioned.

Pezmerga, I'm working my character sheets out in HeroLab and I wanted to ask how you normally handle encumberance due to money. Do you want me to include the weight of the gold my character is carrying toward his encumberance?

well I am ready to begin the introductions perhaps we can get the gameplay thread opened for some tavern banter and such before we begin.

I am going to open the gameday thread tomorrow. :) Probably around 10-11am est.

I'll be getting ready for work around then, so I likely won't get a post up until ~7 or 8 tomorrow night.

@Phillip, I’ve seen Mammoth Rider and had the same feeling. I’d love to roll one out at some point. It’s just so rare that you come across a scenario where a huge mount / companion is viable.

I’m looking at Cold-Blooded for Kogar and probably No Time For Book Learnin’.

I’m not even sure that I need that many flaws. I just like inherently flawed characters and I think these reflect that well.

Thoughts on other feats I should be taking? Is there another use for flaws I should keep in mind?

As far as build goes, should I stick with plain old soulknife or take the "Gifted Blade" archetype? it seems like, with his wits stolen, the archetype may be too much for the guy to handle. Then again, everything he does is reflexive.

For flavor, I wanted to have the weapon be made of ice that he's shaped with his will. It cannot do Cold damage until a later point (8th level I think), but I like the image.

@twilsemail: I'd love to give my opinion on what other feats to take, bud, but heck, I don't even know what a Soulknife is/does. :P

@twilsemail: I get the feeling that there will be a number of open spaces in this campaign...at least, more than is commonly seen in an AP. I'm sincerely hoping that I'm right, just because I've been chomping at the bit to play a Mammoth Rider since Paths of Prestige came out.

Yes, include the coin weight.

I wanted to ask everyone to forgive me for taking so long in posting. The last few days have been nuts for me. I know I've only just met all of you, so ignore me if this strikes you the wrong way.

I had a seizure for the first time in my life yesterday morning and have ultimately discovered that it was a result of two nodules and a lesion in my right brain. There was a lot of swelling and edema around the area and I'm currently in the hospital taking steroids to reduce the swelling. I have a biopsy scheduled Friday to determine if it is malignant before we decide what route to take with treatment.

If any of you are praying people, please send a message Heaven-ward for me.

Logarithm is fairly obviously ready to depart at once. Any that know the man from their time in the village, though, know that he'll listen to others. He's surprisingly aware of his handicap.

Okay, twilsemail, you win. Curiosity has gotten the better of me. I gotta ask: Who is Logarithm? :)

@twilsemail: A large mind blade? 3d6 damage? Dang that is freaking nasty, dude! I have no clue what psionics entails but obviously it's pretty potent. :)

I got a question: Do you just "create" these weapons with your mind or something like that? Some type of force weapon or something?

Yup. It's their primary class feature. At higher levels they can charge it with energy as a move action to deal a bit of extra damage.

Well that's just freaking cool.

Yeah. I hadn't given them a second glance in a long while and now that I have, I'm really digging them.

Especially since you can do large damage with them.

Can you wield large weapons then, normally? Or is it just your created weapons that deal such damage?

Edit: And can you, like, make them magical? Like a +1 created weapon at some point later on?
