Marduk goes for a powerful punch, trying to knock some sense into the kobold. He yips back in Draconic, then looks at a corner of the room Marked by a blue star on the map

DC 17 Linguistics or Language: Draconic:

"I got them following me!"

Single Sense Motive check, open as many as you qualify for!

DC 10 Sense Motive:

The kobold looks like something important is in the western corner next to the door.

DC 15 Sense Motive:

You realize that the kobold is trying to convince one of you to inspect that corner, but perhaps it is a trap. Please give me a free Perception check

The kobold then disappears out of sight as he withdraws away from Marduk, slipping through a large crack in the wall.

Shasta will look back to the corner again to see if she sees a trap. Not spotting anything, she suggests the group considers pushing in the weak section of the wall to see if they can surprise the kobolds by taking an unexpected path. But she'll go along with the consensus plan.

Deepmarket handouts Deepmarket maps

@Shasta: Your previous Perception to find the weakened wall is only the inside section; it won't collapse an outer wall that would lead to the hallway. Although you can go through one of the iron doors, too.

it's a DC 18 Strength check except for the other door near the entrance, against the upper set of unexplored rooms.

As the party holds back, deciding on a new plan, a different kobold appears and takes a shot at Marduk....

Marduk is faster though and catches the bolt before closing the door, blocking line of sight.

It appears that the kobolds will be taking potshots at you while you're visible.

Yes, kobolds are everywhere!

The air in the now opened room smells stale. A pile of ricks sits on the dust-covered floor in one corner of the room.

DC 13 Perception or Survival:

You can see that only a single set of human-sized booted footprints have visited the room recently.

Separate DC 12 Perception check:

You can tell that the southern door in the room is bent slightly inward, as if a bulging weight on the other side is pressing against it.

I presume the Perception checks are for people in the room with Gob. Wyeth was going to accompany him but with this new activity I think he's going to reverse that decision.

Deepmarket handouts Deepmarket maps

Black would have cover, but Red would not through the relatively thin portcullis (at least against piercing attacks from my perspective). If you were following Gob, it would make sense to me that you'd provide some covering fire and shoot back at him.

I think for this I'm going to mostly do a Party action/enemy action set up for each round. There's a lot of weird shenanigans going on from both sides and waiting on separate initiatives would be bothersome. If things get heated or significant melee combat occurs, then we'll go back to the same initiatives used earlier.

Wyeth returns fire, leaving Gob to his work. The bolt hits the kobold square in the stomach, causing it to hurch back in pain.
