I'm on if you are! I'm fairly sure you just hit level 4, though so make sure to level up! Plan on starting Monday.
I'm working on that as we type.
Well, not literally as we type... two monitors but only one keyboard, so...

GM BPC |

Take caution Aspex; I redid the math and realize that this will be 4-5 tier, no adjustment! Just keep being awesome and stay in the back :)

I may not be able to post until late Monday night (Eastern U.S.). Once the question of which path he must take, on he'll dismount and attack on foot once he gets close enough, since he doesn't have a war-trained horse and no ranks in ride skill.

Anyone else making connections to an episode of Doctor Who titled "A Town Called Mercy"? Starts off much the same. See this link for a synopsis.
It takes place in Nevada during the late 1880s. The Doctor and his companions approach an isolated desert town called Mercy, with a perimeter marked out and a sign saying "Keep Out." I'll be curious if a cyborg gunslinger shows up.

![]() |

Heh... now that you mention it!
I was thinking ST:TOS "The Return of the Archons." We need to be off the streets before Festival...

I ran Feast of Ravenmoor recently.
It was fun, lots of fun. Isolated backwater town, suspicious people.
One of the best points, i made an NPC speak the 'technical truth', thus not actually lying, against some high SM rolls.
I almost killed a PC (1 hp from death's door) in the end.
Maybe i should run it again in the future. :)

![]() |

I like Feast of Ravenmoor. I plugged it into a Kingmaker game along with From Shore to Sea and a Dungeon mod about the King in Yellow, trying to put a little horror into the unexplored wilderness. Fun stuff.

![]() |

Yes. At one point i asked who felt like their PC was in an actual horror flick. They said they did. :)
They got especially frustrated with the swarms, and hurt by the faceless stalker in the cornfield. Surprisingly, the mayor did a better number on them as a whole, than i expected, the glade being a mere 30x30 feet.

If anybody wants to play a confirmation game, link recruitment.

Just a heads up. I am posting this in all my games, so you may see it more than once.
I am leaving for a cruise at 2am on March 5th. I'll be on the road all night and arriving at the ship midday. I won't have internet access til sometime the night of the 5th... For the next 2 weeks, I will have spotty internet (wifi at sea isn't the best), and I'll probably only be checking in at night once a day. Please if my character needs to take action between my own posts, GM feel free to bot me as necessary.
Ship returns to port on March 19th, and I will resume normal posting on the 20th.
Thanks, and sorry for any inconvenience my semi-absence may cause.

I don't mean to suggest anything nefarious here, but if nearly every child has one of those carved toys, and nearly every child has whatever this affliction might be, and the affliction is affecting arms/hands(?) which would be the body parts coming in contact with the toys... see where I'm going with that?
The priestess was (we assume) unknowingly swabbing the tree down with what is essentially a poison. Is it possible there's something in whatever wood was used for the toys that is similarly detrimental? Cashews have already been mentioned, after all...

An interesting theory :) Now how can you find evidence for this!

![]() |

I will, thanks!

The children had cloth on their faces, as well. Perhaps what got on their hands would get on their faces, but it seems a reach (well, not a reach from hands to face, but ... you know what I mean). We can check the dolls for residue, since we know what we're looking for.

![]() |

Do we? I'm not presuming it's the tree oil.
On the other hand, Wyeth is an apprentice alchemist, so he could give identifying it a go.
As for faces, good point! However, little kids chew on things, and as for the older ones, that's how colds get transferred. How often do you hear admonishments not to touch your face e.g. during flu season? So, yes: Perhaps a reach, but not totally out of the question.

Question about the enter image spell. Is that a 'target you' spell?
Edit: Also could we possibly get the spell list from her book over on the campaign tab for easy reference?

GM BPC |

@Gob: I can do that later for the spellbook.
As far as Enter Image, there oddly is no target. However, you need to look like whatever 'likeness' you're trying to work with. Since it says 'bears your likeness' in the spell text, I'm ok with using a Disguise check to make it (and in this case, Aspex is arguably the best person to use the scroll as at least she is the same gender, making the Disguise check easier).
For the sake of the DC, I'm thinking a DC 15 Disguise check is sufficient as that would roughly be the minimum spell DC (give or take).

I am back home again after a 2 week cruise, but I am very sick... caught something on the last day of the voyage. I will try to catch up on reading and posting in all my games by tonight but no guarantees... thanks for botting/waiting for me as needed.

![]() |

Sorry to hear it but, if it had to happen, better the last day of your cruise than the first! Take care of yourself and get better soonest!

![]() |

thanks.

GM BPC |

Just saying it in a single thread since you're in a few of my games :P but welcome back and take care of yourself :)

I teach physics and recently I was looking on You-tube for video examples of rogue waves, which are freak superposition of different sources of ocean waves that create an unusually large wave that can capsize even big ships.
Well, I found one, but before I could watch it, I had to watch an advertisement for a cruise ship line. Someone in their organization needs to check the content of the videos they are advertising before. The video shows ships getting capsized or nearly capsized by huge waves.
Sorry you got sick, but I hope is was a good cruise before you got sick.

At least Benson had a good reason (gaming!) and his absence was short.
On the other hand, all I can do is apologize for my extended "away" time. Life unexpectedly went off the rails for a good while. I started spinning back up on my games last week, but I still have a couple to go... lots of (general life) catch-up to do and that's sucking up gaming time. Still, I think I'm basically back. Thanks for the botting, GM, and thanks for your patience, to everyone.
Man, I can't believe I missed out on an ape joke... sigh.

wb Wyeth!!!

Thanks, Marduk. Great to be back!
GM: Ah. The +6 tripped me up so badly I didn't recognize it. Thanks!

Sorry, guys, but work has gotten ridiculous in the past couple of months. I'm reducing my number of games on the boards and am going to try to catch back up here.

GM BPC |

Welcome back! Plus side, you guys are 'bout near the end, but a couple of decisions will need to be made.

wb, Aspex... we've missed you!

day job prof soldier: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (11) + 9 = 20
perfect timing to wrap up - I have a major convention coming up memorial day weekend... Will we be continuing on with another mod? can we start next week if so? I'd love to be able to play Hakime at the con a little.

Profession(Sailor): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16
This will be my last PBP game for now, at least with Benson. I am looking to add another PBP game where I can play a new 1st level character.

Day Job: Craft-Painting: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15
I went back and read through the thread and don't see where we decided the cloaker was influencing Spark. When did we figure that out?
