FYI: there is a way to transfer ownership of a thread to a different GM, in case you want to preserve the RP and info that is already at the thread that was started by the other GM.
See this link, at top of page: Did you inherit a play-by-post?
Marduk the Pale |
Yes, was thinking of the templesword.
I've seen a maneuver master go crazy with that.
But then....the party faced a Jiang Shi vampire. 49:40
Which was untrippable ^^.
GM BPC |
Marduk, don't forget to post in the other thread I linked to you! Same with you Aspex, at least dot in there so I can tell GM G to close this thread.
Gob Master of Greed |
Shasta Lux |
I think we're well covered. Both Shasta and Wyeth have wands of CLW and both can cast CLW.
Gob Master of Greed |
Gob is making the following purchases.
Staff of Entwined serpents 5050 g
scroll of endure elements x3 150 g
scroll of tongues 375 g
vermin repellant 5 g
waterskin x2 2 g
Gob also has a wand of CLW (can't use) and a wand of infernal healing (can use, but has a 1 round cast time)
Marduk the Pale |
I seem to have overlooked GMG's link to our chronicles.
Anyway, purchases:
Sell cestus: +2 gp
Mwk Temple sword 330gp
Siangham 3 gp
Should i buy a wand of Mage Armor or Shield?
I need more AC :)

I was listening to this song and couldn't help but visualize Shasta playing in a Tavern somewhere. While the song as a whole has a Spanish vibe, to my ear the brief violin part imparts a distinct Romani/"gypsy" feel, thus a perfect fit for Shasta's Varisian heritage.
Since the song is by the guitarist with the violin only a "flourish" at the end, it's all too short... but take a listen and see if you can visualize Shasta in bright silks and jingling jewelry, dancing on stage and playing her violin while accompanied by a guitarist and drummer.
(The URL above is cued to the correct point, but not all browsers respect that. If playback starts from 0:00, skip ahead to 2:40 with apologies for the inconvenience.)
GM BPC |
@Marduk: Just for you I think... darn regional restrictions. Try this link Marduk: Alternate link to the song, although you'll have to move to 2:40 yourself
Oddly, I did find this song that I think will be the family song of the Kilnborn clan.

Heh... nice! And repeated for ten hours of run time. How convenient for playback during that long tabletop gaming session. ;o)

Nice, indeed.
My musical inspirations for Shasta are various jazz/pop violinists, such as Vanessa Mae and Stephan Grappelli. But lately, I've drawn special inspiration for her from Lindsey Stirling. Here's a video that combines really great music with a Wild West backdrop that is a bit like I imagine some of her gigs along the Inner Sea, having to deal with violent macho types. Roundtable Rival, Lindsey Stirling
There's also an appealing Steampunk vibe to the violin.

I seem to recall back when GMG was introducing this scenario, he had a link to an image that showed the text of the rubbing mentioned in the introduction. Now I can't find it. Can we see it or at least get the text? Thanks.
GM BPC |
@Shasta: I have it in the campaign information, you should see it right above the tabs for this campaign.

The movers are here packing us up and the moving truck comes tomorrow - I will have no internet until Friday, though I might have it UNTIL tomorrow morning sometime - If I don't post til friday though, bot me as necessary please... sorry for the interrupt.
GM BPC |
More like, if you don't hit them with blunt instruments, bad things happen :) Only expanding because Shasta's roll was high enough
Marduk the Pale |
I wonder how many links to our museum trip we'll see.
Incidentally, i'm running it too ^^
It's been hard on the group, and they've only had the hall of the dead and Yannis & Danarik.
They're walking into the vargouille room now.
Wyeth Riceak |
That was one of the most enjoyable short scenarios I've experienced, and I firmly believe it was because of the company (both GM and players). "LOL" has become cliche, but the puns you and Saitama were slinging triggered real-life guffaws more than a few times. Even the toilet humor was righteous in its poopitude.
As for it being rough, as I recall we had a few borderline moments ourselves. First room we entered, in fact...
Marduk the Pale |
True.
The witch failed his 1st save immediately, the other 3 still have to roll.
I'm running the current version, which makes some fights tougher and others easier.
The gorilla is now just a large ape, which is 19 hp.
Yannis has more hp than him....

My work schedule has changed and so I'll be generally unable to post from about the late afternoon until late evening, Eastern US time, Mondays through Thursdays. I will primarily be posing in the morning or early afternoon, but most days I should have time at work to check for updates and perhaps make a quick post.
Wyeth Riceak |
Ouch, not fun. I hope he can get to a Remove Disease in time
Speaking of witches, I wonder whatever happened with Sterelin. He never broke first level. (His player's still gaming, though.)
Zadim Al-Shams |
Sorry, guys. Work blew up around mid-week last week. My schedule should free up after we meet this deadline on Friday. But then I'm going on vacation the week after next. I'll try to keep up as best I can but don't anticipate being on much for the rest of this week.

Since it may become relevant, what are your rules for dealing with lack of sleep? The rules apparently don't address it directly, but the PFSRD has something here.
Characters who do not get a full night's sleep may suffer the effects of fatigue. If a PC does not get at least 6 hours of sleep, she must make a DC 15 Fortitude save or be fatigued and take a –1 penalty on all other checks and saving throws against sleep effects. A second night without sleep requires another DC 15 Fortitude save. A failed save results in the character becoming exhausted and the penalties increasing to –2. A third failed save on the next night increases the penalties to –3.
It mentions that these are extrapolated rules, so let us know if you're using a different house rule or if you know of any other RAW on this.
GM BPC |
That's roughly what I was going to use, and should have said Fort save instead of Constitution.
My rule is, first day, DC 15 Fort save or fatigued. In my home games, I increase the DC and severity (fatigue to exhaustion, then start increasing the ability score penalties if they try more than that), but I never had to worry about more than 1 day of doing so.
Wyeth Riceak |
Lucky them. This past Spring I was running at like -3 for long stretches in real life. Yeow...

Hey guys! I'm going to be out of town for a week starting on Saturday, and I'll probably not be able to post much at all. So sit tight, the adventure will continue after the 15th!
Hakime |
see you when you get back... as Wyeth said, travel safe.

Biggest threat (and what my wife is worried about) is bears. Well, that, and the forest fire that was blocking part of the Going to the Sun Road. We'll see how it goes, but thanks for the well wishes!
GM BPC |
Bringing some bells to make some noise, and one of the campgrounds we're staying at rents bear spray for $5 (versus buying a bottle for $50 locally).
Although, I could be just on the hunt for a new animal companion.
