@Pelkin: Kn: Religion... but nothing comes to mind. The alcoves each hold something strange. A plaque, written in text you do not understand, seems to provide a description. You'd focus more on them, but the unnerving gaze of the quintet ahead is drawing more of your attention that you'd prefer.

Pelkin will move up with anyone that wishes to try and talk to these... creatures. He will draw his weapon but cautiously hold it low.

Somebody see if there are magical auras in the room as we move up. Pelkin doesn't want the distraction of casting and he'd rather not be seen opening divining for magic while in the front of the line.

@Pelkin: As you approach, you can tell that the dark-skinned men are tieflings.

@Twigg: The woman cocks her head slightly with a forced smile, "Yes, all are invited to be with the children of the Black Goat."

"Well, I'm ugly enough I could pass already, but it looks like the rest of us need to be hit with an ugly stick before we become goat kids."

"It's interesting that they can speak Taldane, since everything else has been Azlanti or elvish."

Horgrym moves over to inspect the plaque.

"So your mama was a goat? Wow, my brother is a bear! There must be some gnomish blood in you. You know us gnomes are creatures of magic and weird stuff always seems to happen!"

Who is this Black Goat? Why would we wish to become its child?

As fond of jocularity in the face of the enemy as the next elf, Amarthecthel also knows incipient combat when he sees it. He summons several shifting versions of himself that flit about him insubstantially.

@Horgrym: The plaque, in Azlanti, reads "The Talons of Borvadagen"; on the pedestal is a spiked gauntlet made of red wood and glass sharks teeth, or at least that's what it appears to be.

The woman's head turns to Amarthecthel after he casts his spell, speaking in the same dead voice, "You seem to wish to resist joining us. We will have to drag you to the Black Goat."

The woman and her allies immediately draw weapons.

Horgrym moves 15' to the east and levies a mighty overhead smash at tiefling 4 with his cold iron bec de corbin.

Pelkin moves to flank one of the tieflings (T3) and attacks the enemy with his weapon! Swift Action to activate judgment of destruction.

"Medic!" cries Amarthecthel as he moves to Dyn's side for some aid. "It hurts right here," he grunts, pointing to the crossbow quarrel in his side.

@Amarthecthel: I prompted earlier that outside of combat, you can roll for your own CLW with the assumption that Dyn used it on you for you. This is to save time and not have healing wait for Dyn or Pelkin's post. Thus, it is highly assumed that you healed yourself before opening any more doors that probably lead to danger. Just make the CLW rolls and mark the charges on your PC sheet. Then, repost your action.

@Pelkin: Your blade sinks into the tiefling's chest; it is barely standing.

@Horgrym: The tiefling's armor deadens enough of your blow that while it stuck, it doesn't penetrate his defenses.

@Horgrym: No, both were 5' steps; I had to check but the blind condition doesn't have movement provoke AoO. I was checking based on your reach, though, so I'll still keep that in mind as long as that's out :)

Dyn looks at the sucking wound in Amarthecthel's chest. "By Korada, that nearly killed you!" He reaches out to touch him.

I'll do two rolls, a CLW for the heal before combat, and a CMW for now.

The woman calls out to her allies. "You, surround muscle man. Then I go for kill. You kill elf." She then waits a second for her men to move into place on the battlefield before trying to flank Guido.

Twigg hustles forward in front of one of the tieflings. "Want to see my super cool colorful rainbow?" without waiting for a response he wiggles his fingers and a cone of color shoots forward engulfing the non-blind tieflings.

"Thanks, Dyn!" says Amarthecthel as the healing warmth of the other's healing flows into him, and then rushes back into combat, a phantasmal image of himself flitting before, behind and beside him.

"And now," he says to the tiefling, "we dance with steel and spell. Say your prayers!"

@Twigg: Your blast of color shoots across the area, hitting the tiefling Amarthecthel missed and the woman.

Both, in their monotone stupor, seem to be too dull to be affected by the gnome's light.

Moved Mexel to the woman since the spray is over and T3 is dead now. Because of this, it's only a single attack, which I'll say the bite hit. However, need to reroll the damage since Mexel does not have a 1d20 bite damage :P

Then Amarthecthel keeps the spell and runs toward Guido and the woman.

Pelkin will double move, chasing the woman as well. Using a round of Agile Feet so I can ignore the difficult terrain of the stairs.
