I figured. Spectrum is an archeologist. Seemed like something he'd want to hang on to put it in the museum.

Male Varisian Human Air Elementalist (Wizard) 2 / Archivist (Bard) 2 [ HP -4/20 | AC 11/11/10 | CMB +0, CMD 11 | Fort +1, Ref +4, Will +3 | Init +2; Perception +5 (+7 when familiar near) ]

Whoops. Seems I forgot to post. Anyway, yeah, assume Chaise handed it to Spectrum.

Chaise continues past, carefully looking around.

Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10

Nothing else in the room. Heading through the northern door in the room, or further up the tunnel passage?

Male Varisian Human Air Elementalist (Wizard) 2 / Archivist (Bard) 2 [ HP -4/20 | AC 11/11/10 | CMB +0, CMD 11 | Fort +1, Ref +4, Will +3 | Init +2; Perception +5 (+7 when familiar near) ]

Northern door!

Map

Opening and continuing through the door, you find yourselves at a crossroad. To the east is a long passage ending in darkness, to the north you can make out a room, and the edges of a red statue.

Male Varisian Human Air Elementalist (Wizard) 2 / Archivist (Bard) 2 [ HP -4/20 | AC 11/11/10 | CMB +0, CMD 11 | Fort +1, Ref +4, Will +3 | Init +2; Perception +5 (+7 when familiar near) ]

Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24

Chaise continues north if no one stops him, cautious.

Chaise hears nothing peculiar.

Map

A red marble statue of a strikingly beautiful but, at the same time, monstrously enraged human woman stands in the middle of this room, her stony expression twisted in fury. The woman wears flowing robes, and her long hair is held back from her face by an intricate headdress of hooks and blades. In her left hand she carries a large book, the face of which is inscribed with a seven-pointed star. Her right hand holds a glittering metal and ivory ranseur.

Anyone who wants to identify her, roll K. History. You'd better roll high.

To the east is a long passage heading down; to the north there is a door.

Male Varisian Human Air Elementalist (Wizard) 2 / Archivist (Bard) 2 [ HP -4/20 | AC 11/11/10 | CMB +0, CMD 11 | Fort +1, Ref +4, Will +3 | Init +2; Perception +5 (+7 when familiar near) ]

What about if I take 20? (Lore master 1/d) Also, everyone still about? Not sure if it's alright if I take point, since Wyam or Noro might not be too interested in history or whatever, but they're supposed to be going first.

Knowledge (history): 20 + 11 = 31

Chaise peers at the statue, not going close enough to touch it yet.

Still not enough I'm afraid; DC 35. But close enough that you know it's of Thasillonian make.

Current Effects:

Spectrum moves up beside Chaise, also examining the statue.

Bards can take 20 on Knowledges? That's awesome. I'm going to give Chaise an Aid Another for +2.

Knowledge History: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (10) + 11 = 21

Male Varisian Human Air Elementalist (Wizard) 2 / Archivist (Bard) 2 [ HP -4/20 | AC 11/11/10 | CMB +0, CMD 11 | Fort +1, Ref +4, Will +3 | Init +2; Perception +5 (+7 when familiar near) ]

Hah, wow, such a huge DC. And if they have Lore Master, they can take 10 for knowledge checks and take 20 a number of times a day. They're very knowledge-y.

"I'm not familiar with it, but it's of Thasillonian make. Spectrum, would you happen to recognize it?"

Current Effects:
Cover: Orbius Onx, sea elf sailor. HP 8/8, AC 14, CMD 11, Fort +1, Ref +2, Will +3, Init +2, Per +7, Admixture 9/9

"I do not, but I will in time."

Spectrum brings out thin parchment and a small flat glass surface with small pressure clamps and a long tin attached to it. He attaches to paper to the glass so that, with the paper over it, it resembles a frosted-looking window. Then he holds it up, looking through the paper at the statue and opens the tin. It is full of small pots of different colored charcoal.

He concentrates and number of colored dust clouds and a small wooden stylus float out of the tin and begin tracing the statue, slowly recreating every shadow and line onto the page.

Spectrum repeats this from different angles, quickly having an amazingly detailed artistic representation of the statue.

When finished he places another sheet of glass over the first, pinning the parchment between them and clamping them together before putting it into a metal case in his satchel.

I feel like that should require some kind of roll? Craft: art? Feel free to take 10 or 20.

Current Effects:
Cover: Orbius Onx, sea elf sailor. HP 8/8, AC 14, CMD 11, Fort +1, Ref +2, Will +3, Init +2, Per +7, Admixture 9/9

I'm essentially using the parchment to do a charcoal stain on the glass. Can I lump this in with Glassworking?

If so, I take 20 for 30. If not, it's a 25

While glass is involved, I do not think this should count as Glassworking. You take 20 for 25 on the check.

Spectrum creates a beautiful and accurate replica of the sculpture, one that will be able to be very easily identified later.

Spectrum focuses and sweeps the statue and the weapon for signs of enchantment.

"Chaise, would you mind checking to see if the statue is trapped in any way"

Male Varisian Human Air Elementalist (Wizard) 2 / Archivist (Bard) 2 [ HP -4/20 | AC 11/11/10 | CMB +0, CMD 11 | Fort +1, Ref +4, Will +3 | Init +2; Perception +5 (+7 when familiar near) ]

"Hmm? Alright."

Spectrum carefully removes the weapon from the statue.

Spectrum now possesses a beautifully made ivory-and-metal Ranseur, a work of art as much as a lethal weapon. He estimates its worth as close to 400 gold pieces.

While the more academically-inclined pore over the statue, Wyam eyes the near doorway.

"Hey, Chaise, you want to check that before we move on?"

"Ah, of course."

While they're discussing the ranseur, Chaise checks the doorway for traps.

Varisian:
"Namely by stabbing it into the guts of every enemy we meet."

The doorway is untrapped.

"Let's continue on," Chaise says, heading into the doorway once he figures it's untrapped. "We can come back later."

Are you heading north or east?

Sounds good.

Understood.

Chaise pulls open the heavy wooden door and gazes into what lies beyond. The door opens atop a tall wooden platform ten feet above a low stone floor, the walls studded with cells filled with bones and barred by iron bars. Atop the platform are two wrathspawn similar to that which you encountered before, however these ones are growling at eachother and tearing into their skin, wounds slowly re-knitting leaving them covered with scar tissue. Hearing the door open, they turn as one and stare at Chaise.

COMBAT TIME!

Spectrum casts true strike on himself and draws his sword.

As Spectrum prepares, the Sinspawn turn and run towards Chaise, the one in front letting out an animalistic roar, contorting its face, revealing sharp teeth. It tries to bite into Chaise.

Will save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15

The bite connects. Similar to Wyam, Chaise feels a surge of anger, but he is able to throw it off.

"Should have went East!" Chaise says, withdrawing from the front of the door.

Withdraw as full action to the nearest available space at the back of the party.

"Chaise!" Wyam shouts at seeing the other man attacked so suddenly. Seeing that they were content to charge forward, Wyam acted by stepping to the side - opening a pocket into which they could attack that would open them to attacks by Noro, Spectrum, and himself while only one of the could attack them at any one time.

Spectrum's blade unerringly shoots forward and hits, carving a deep slash into the creature as lightning leaves an ugly burn against its skin.

Noro moves up to the first creature hoping to bottle the second in the back preventing it from flanking.

Not quite angry enough yet she simply walks up and lays into it with an uppercut.

Current Effects:

I did. That was a readied attack to hit the first one that came close. As far as I understood, Wyam's last post was a tactical analysis (and a good one) that indicated he was going to wait for them to approach us. I assumed it was easy to tell his intent and had Spectrum follow suit.

Ahhh my apologies. I understand now. Noro, you hit, Spectrum let me know when you want the action to go off. One point, though. True Strike only lasts for a round so if you wait until next round to trigger your action, you won't get the bonus.

Current Effects:
Cover: Orbius Onx, sea elf sailor. HP 8/8, AC 14, CMD 11, Fort +1, Ref +2, Will +3, Init +2, Per +7, Admixture 9/9

Actually, it isn't up to me. It's a readied action. If the enemy enters my threat range, it triggers and I hit them before they do anything else. If they don't, I lose the action. It's a gamble. I'm betting they're going to attack us and get close enough that I can hit them in the face when they run up to me.

So I've stated 'If they do that, I do this.' It's up to you if they do that.

Noro's fist slams forward and nails the creature hard. It blinks, dazed.

oh well. Waste of true strike, but shocking grasp is still charged.

The only sign of Spectrum's annoyance was a pursing of his lips. Inwardly, his wordless frustration was blaring.

Holding the electrical charge as a cracking coil around his hand, he sheathed his sword and drew his bow from it's case on his back.

Notching an arrow, he fired at the rear Wrathspawn.
