Good. Thanks.

----------------------

Round 2: Enemy!

Skeleton #2 attacks Nighttail with its broken scimitar and claw.

Broken scimitar: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (9) + 0 = 9
Damage, if hits: 1d6 ⇒ 1

Claw attack: 1d20 - 3 ⇒ (9) - 3 = 6
Damage, if hits: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

But both attacks prove incompetent against the kobold and she remains unscathed.

----------------------

Churgri, seeing one of her skeletons fall, takes hold of the gold unholy symbol and begins channelling negative energy in a 30ft radius burst.

Channel Negative Energy: 2d6 ⇒ (5, 6) = 11

I will need a Will Save (DC 12) for half damage from Riley, Felix, Braylee, and Nightail/Hak.

The negative energy heals the Skeletons. Skeleton #1 stands up from the ground.

Braylee, you get an AoO against Skeleton #1 as it stands.

--------------------

Round 2: Adventurers, you're up! Riley, you may bot Rhia, if you'd like.

Current Map

Correction to above: Skeletons are not healed. Caster channelled negative energy to damage living creatures (in this case Riley, Felix, Nighttail/Hak and Braylee). Braylee gets no AoO. Please disregard the error about the skeletons in the above post. Only one skeleton (#2) remains standing but is wounded, and, the caster, Churgri. You guys are up - Round 2. Thanks.

Riley's elven blade sluices through Churgri, but the wounds are not as deep due to her magical defenses.

Will Save (DC 12): 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4 Hak fails and takes all 11 pts of damage and is very injured.

Nighttail and Hak both feel the dark energy wash over them. Nighttail manages to withstand some of the damage but Hak is not so fortunate and is overwhelmed by the entirety of it.

Hurt and wounded, Hak tries to tear the skeleton apart.

Emarthine brushed off her scythe as was her way and moved toward the idol at the centre of the cave and looked closely around the shrine, careful not to touch the various innards strewn around it.

Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (20) + 10 = 30

Carefully hidden in one of the rock crevasses, the Druidess found a dirty/bloodied cloth, and, unwrapping it, she discovered another vial and unstoppering it, she took a whiff and noted that the colour of the liquid in the vial was the same as the vials found on the fallen Churgri.

"Clever cleric. She hid another healing potion in the rock around the shrine to her god."

Stoppering the vial, Emarthine handed it across to Riley. The druidess tossed the dirtied rag down by the base of the shrine, wiped her hands on her breeches and moved away from the foul idol. (You now have 4 CLW potions.)

Riley drinks his potion.

After he heals to full, he turns to Nighttail and offers his hand. "We appreciate your help. Is you friend here OK now?" He motions to the dinosaur and reaches to pet it if it will let him. "How much farther Nighttail? We are just about in a position where we need to rest. Are there any more traps?"

Current Map

Riley back to full hp.

Nighttail took the potion offered by the Half-Elf and quickly drank it.

CLW potion: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5 (She's only down 3 hp now.)

The kobold felt some relief, but some damage still remained - she could feel it in her body from the dark energy Churgri poured into them.

When the Half-Elf offered his hand, Nighttail was taken aback but she imitated the gesture and smiled a toothy grin. "Hak iss all well, now. And, we help each other get what we want." Nighttail watched as the male leader wished to stroke her companion and said something quickly and quietly to Hak who instantly lowered his head to permit his small brow to be touched.

Okay, so technically two caves remain: one where the tribe's eggs are housed and the other the tribe's grand hall. What would you like to do?

Rhialtyra ran a hand through her hair and winced slightly as she felt a tug in her chest. She tried to cover the gesture and compose herself.

"Indeed, let those most wounded drink the potions. I have some magic remaining for the day and will heal myself if I am in trouble. Thank you, Riley." The kobold cleric had wished them dead and had been willing to fight to her death. She hoped no other evil clerics were lurking about in the Grand Hall Nighttail had just spoken of.

------------------

Emarthine discreetly gestured to Riley and then spoke quietly, "I have prepared a healing spell this day, and, if need be, I will use it on your healer if she is injured anew. If she is not, then I can heal another."

Then turning and addressing Nighttail she nodded, "You have my gratitude for assisting with the skeleton. I am relieved your animal companion is now hale."

Nighttail looked up at the tall Elf and simply, respectfully, inclined her head to the female.

He passes the wooden gate leading into the egg sanctuary and then Felix's keen nose picks up the subtle scent of oil coming from in front as does Riley's blessed sight note it, too. The rogue immediately halts the group.

Before him, Riley can see that a thin layer of oil coats the walls, floor and ceiling of this new passageway. Just up ahead, Riley spies a number of well-hidden triplines, and, following the lines, Riley peers upward and there upon the low ceiling are a dozen filled vials, ready to drop down into the space and ignite the oil, making the entire hallway an inferno.

Riley, with Felix's aid, deftly works at the triplines and with honed skill disarms the inferno trap. This leaves the 12 vials of Alchemist's Fire to be gathered safely from the five foot ceiling. The 12 vials of Alchemist's Fire are now part of your loot. You may distribute them as you see fit.

Current Map

With the trap disabled and the twelve vials collected and distributed, Riley leads the group forward cautiously through the oil-slicked tunnel. At the end of tunnel, you encounter a set of rough-hewn steps leading upward. The leaders pause at the top of the stairs and cast their gaze inside the cave.

It is a large cave and the floor is strewn with fresh straw. The bones of many different animals and humanoid beings hang on the walls. Two boulders bisect the cave, obscuring what the other half holds.

You can see four green kobold guards with spears in hand standing in semi-attention across the larger part of the room; their gaze cast toward the entrance of the cave. There is an iron cage with a prisoner hunched down, bound and gagged in the top right corner of the cave. A rather crude wooden throne sits behind the boulders (the chieftain's seat of rule) and is currently empty. There is a large, locked chest in the left corner between the two guards positioned there.

The leaders of your party cannot see Chief Roaghaz from their current place at top the stone stairs.

Braylee follows Felix as he speaks. She stands to his side and translates the message into Draconic. Once again, she attempts to avoid looking threatening.

Current Map

Felix and Braylee step forward into the cave (just over the threshold) and stand side by side to address the kobold guards. None of the kobold guards seem swayed to lay down their weapons and surrender to the party, even upon threat of death. They stand at full attention now, spears raised.

Very soft/faint Draconic words can be heard from somewhere at the back of the cave. Only those adventurers at the very front of the line can hear the sound, but the words are muffled at best from their point of origin.

A kobold elder peers out from one of the boulders, chest puffed. From what you can see of him, he is wearing a purple and scarlet animal-hair cloak and gold bracelets on each arm.

In an imperious tone, he addresses the party in the Common tongue, the 's' sounds pronounced and elongated,

"You think you can trespass in the lair of the Blood Vow tribe with impunity? I am Roaghaz, Chief of this tribe, and I serve the great Lord Aeteperax! He rewards his supplicants for ferocity and faithfulness, so your words hold no power or meaning, here. We shall add your bones to those hanging on these walls, and our great lord shall sup on your flesh!"

Then changing into his native tongue, the Kobold Chieftain commands his guards, "Tir ti origato astahi dolruth. Svent astahi sjek astahii xoal."

Draconic translation:

"Do not let them pass. Kill them if they try."

And as Roaghaz slips behind the boulders once more, the four guards raise their spears higher.

GM's Initiative rolls:

Party's Initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Roaghaz's Initiative: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
Kobold Guards' Initiative: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 1 = 15

We're in combat and in Round 1. Kobolds win initiative, so it goes Kobold Guards, Roghaz and then the Adventurers. Good luck!

The ceiling in the Grand Hall is only 5ft high (even though the large cave itself is long and wider through the middle section). So -2 to all adventurers' attacks (except for Nighttail) inside this cave.

----------------------------

Round 1: Enemy!

The kobold guards begin to advance and they distribute themselves across the front section of the cave. Two of the guards (Kobolds 1 & 2) stop and take a defensive stance. (Total Defense as standard action for round (+4 to their AC).

Kobold Guard #3 moves to the side of the entrance, and, fighting defensively (+2 to AC until its next turn), attacks Braylee with his spear.

Spear Attack on Braylee: 1d20 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (10) + 1 - 4 = 7 (Miss)
Damage, if hits: 1d6 - 1 ⇒ (2) - 1 = 1

Unfortunately in the kobold's eagerness to kill the female intruder, and his defensive posturing, the kobold spear awkwardly strikes the alchemist's armour and cannot penetrate it.

Kobold Guard #4 moves on Felix and fighting defensively (+2 to AC until next turn), attacks the catman,

Spear Attack on Felix: 1d20 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (13) + 1 - 4 = 10 (Miss)
Damage, if hits: 1d6 - 1 ⇒ (4) - 1 = 3

But it cannot penetrate the catman's armour.

-------------

From his place behind the boulder, Roaghaz begins to speak faint Draconic words and then he peaks out and a missile of magical energy darts forth from his taloned finger. Two other magic missiles swiftly follow: one of the magic missiles target Felix, one at Braylee and the third at Riley before Roaghaz slips back behind the boulder.

MM1 Force Damage on Felix: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
MM2 Force Damage on Braylee: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
MM3 Force Damage on Riley: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

Round 1: Emarthine

She moves forward, up the stairs, and from the side of the stone landing transfers her scythe to her off hand and begins casting.

Flames appears in her true hand and she hurls them at the kobold guard closest to the boulder (#1)

Ranged Touch Attack On Kobold #1: 1d20 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 - 2 = 7
Damage, if hits: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

but the flame brushes the kobold's leather armour and does not injure the creature.

Another set of flames appear in her hand.

Round 1: Nighttail and Hak

Nighttail jumps off the allosaurus' back and says quietly in Draconic, "I'll go ahead and you follow behind. Don't attack until I say so."

Nighttail moves up, to the base of the stone stairs, attempting to do so covertly so Roaghaz and his guards will not see/hear her. Hak attempts to do the same but from behind his mistress and when he stops he goes into Total Defense in case of attack. They hold waiting to see if the adventurers from Belhaim move into the cave and finish off the guards.

Felix Bot

Felix moves up into a flank with Riley and attacks the caster. He calls upon his luck to guide him.

Current Map

Riley's fine Elven Curve blade strikes the boulder and completely misses the Kobold Chief.

Felix's crit did not confirm, but he manages to score a hit on Roaghaz for 4pts damage.

Thanks for botting Felix, Riley.

Kobold Guard #3 attacks Braylee.

Spear Attack on Braylee: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 1 = 12

but it hits the bump in the wall and completely misses the alchemist.

Spear Attack on Felix: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 19
Damage, if hits: 1d6 - 1 ⇒ (6) - 1 = 5

and manages to score a hit in the bard's stomach, injuring him for 5 pts.

Felix's HP now 5/16 HP

-----------------

Kobold Guard #2 takes a 5ft step and attempts to attack the now unwarded Riley.

Spear Attack on Riley: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6

Roaghaz begins casting defensively in Draconic and where there was only one of him previously, now there stands four Kobold chieftains.

For those who understand Draconic and have Spellcraft (DC 17):
Roaghaz cast Mirror Image.

Round 2: Adventurers are up! Note the -2 to all attacks.

Felix:
Felix you have two rounds of Lingering Performance starting this round and only one use of Archaeologist's Luck remaining this day. Current HP: 5/16.

Braylee throws a bomb at the Kobold in front of her and splashes the one next to it. She makes sure not to allow splash damage on her or her allies. Precise Bombs She then moves around the Kobolds in front of her and stands behind the one that was in front of her.

Bot for Rhia

Rhia moves up between Glib and Em and casts guidance on the Druid. To the allies in the hallway: "Hurry. I need to get in and heal the men!"

Current Map

Kobold Guard #3 is hit with Braylee's splash weapon and suffers 8 pts of damage. It looks very injured, but is still standing.

Kobold Guard #4 attempts to be quick on its feet and minimise the injury upon itself from the splash,

Reflex Save (DC 15): 1d10 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

and does very poorly in the endeavour and takes the entire splash damage of 5 pts.

Neither attempt to make an attack on opportunity on the alchemist.

I believe Braylee now only has 1 bomb remaining for the day? My notes have it at 5/6 bombs used this day. If I am mistaken, my apologies. And thanks for botting Rhia this round.

Round 2: Emarthine

With Rhia's blessing on her, Emarthine hurls the flames in her hand at the Kobold Guard (#4) closest to the entrance in order to remove the threat and make way for her and the others behind her.

Ranged Touch Attack with Guidance on Kobold #4: 1d20 + 2 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 + 1 - 2 = 20
Damage, if hits: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6

and the flames hit true and the kobold falls under the combined attack of Braylee and Emarthine.

The druidess with scythe in hand then moves into the cave, ready to weather any AoO made on her by the kobold guard before Braylee.

But it does not attack her as she moves past it. Emarthine moves up to flank the kobold guard (#2) with Riley.

Round 2: Nighttail and Hak

Nighttail and Hak move up the rock stairs and just inside the cave and attack the kobold guard on Braylee. When the kobold guard sees Nighttail, it registers shock and then anger on its face.

M/W Spear Attack on Kobold #3: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15
Damage, if hits: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6

and her strike is true and it falls down in a pool of blood. Nightail raises her spear in triumph!

With the fall of the kobold guard, Hak goes into Total Defense behind Nighttail.

Round 2: Riley and Felix to go. Enemy remaining: Roaghaz and two kobold guards.

Botting Felix as he has a family issue at present.

Round 2: Felix

Badly wounded, the bard/swashbuckler seeing the multiple visions of the Chieftain instead attempts to put down the kobold guard by his side.

Rapier Attack with Luck on Kobold Guard #1: 1d20 + 6 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (7) + 6 + 2 - 2 = 13
Damage, if hits: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4

but the rapier sides across the creature's leather armor and does not hit.

One round of Lingering Performance remains. Felix's current HP: 5/16

Round 2: Riley is up!

Riley attempts to attack the sorcerer with his sword. "Nighttail, tell the last two to relent and we will spare them!"

mwk elven curve blade/flank: 1d20 + 6 - 2 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 6 - 2 + 2 = 11

Current Map

Riley's strike goes askew and does not hit the Chieftan and/or his duplicates.

Upon Riley's instruction to Nighttail, the four Chieftains laugh hard and arrogantly declare in unison, "They only follow my orders. That traitor holds no sway in this Hall."

Nighttail responds, her voice bold, "You will be the ones to die, Roaghaz!"

End of Round 2

Sorry, Braylee, I forgot to move your token earlier, but I have done so now. :)

Current Map

Round 3: Enemy!

Kobold Guard #1 strikes at Felix again with its spear.

Spear Attack on Felix: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 1 = 12
Damage, if hits: 1d6 - 1 ⇒ (1) - 1 = 0

but the creature nicks the catfolk's armour and the bard/swashbuckler remains unscathed.

It then takes a 5ft step up and away from the incoming female intruder.

---------------------

Kobold Guard #2 attacks the half caste intruder threatening his Chief.

Spear Attack on Riley: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Damage, if hits: 1d6 - 1 ⇒ (4) - 1 = 3

and strikes the bump in the rock wall instead, hitting nowhere near the rogue.
---------------------

GM's eyes only:

1d20 + 12 ⇒ (5) + 12 = 17 (Success)

The four Roaghaz's begin casting defensively in Draconic once more and their hands begin to glow with blue energy. They reach out and touch Felix on the arm, channelling negative energy into the bard/swashbuckler and sapping his life force and seriously injuring the already wounded catfolk.

Negative Energy damage on Felix: 1d6 ⇒ 4

Felix will also take 1 pt of Strength damage if he cannot make a successful FORT save (DC 14).

Botting Felix's Fort Save (DC 14): 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16 (Succeeds and no STR damage)

Felix is now at 1/16 HP.

The four Roaghazes then reach out and touch Riley, sending negative energy into his body.

Negative Energy damage on Riley: 1d6 ⇒ 4

Riley will also take 1 pt of Strength damage if he cannot make a successful FORT save (DC 14).

Riley's Fort Save (DC 14): 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20 (Succeeds and no STR damage.)

Riley is now at 12/19 HP.

Then altogether the four Roaghazes take a 5ft step and come to stand between Felix and the throne.

If you can understand Draconic and have Spellcraft (DC 16):

Roaghaz cast Chill Touch.

-------------------------

Round 3: Adventurers are up! This is the last round of Felix's Lingering Performance.

Combat Map

Male HE Unchained Rogue/Scout 3 [HP: 27/27 | AC: 17 T: 14 FF: 13 | F: +3 R: +7 W: +2 (+2 vs enchantment) Init: +4, Perc: +8]

Riley steps up and waits for Felix to move into a flank and attack before attacking.

mwk elven curve blade/flank: 1d20 + 6 - 2 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 6 - 2 + 2 = 18
Damage: 1d10 + 4 + 1d6 ⇒ (9) + 4 + (5) = 18

Rapier: 1d20 + 6 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (16) + 6 + 2 - 2 = 22
Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

So Felix's attack first and then Riley's. Felix will use panache to try to deflect the next attack against him.

Here's hoping for a hit and a lucky mirror image roll or this may get ugly quick.

F Human Alchemist 3 [hp:24/24 | AC: 17 T: 13 FF: 14 | F: +4, R: +6, W: +2 | Init +3, Perc: +6]

mwk longbow/Precise Shot/PBS/mutagen: 1d20 + 7 - 2 ⇒ (13) + 7 - 2 = 18
Damage: 1d8 + 1 + 1d6 ⇒ (3) + 1 + (2) = 6

Braylee smiles as the caster steps toward the throne. She 5' steps up and over to get good line of sight. She readies an action to attack as soon as the caster starts casting a spell. She adds an alchemist fire dose to the arrow.

Status:

+4 Dexterity, -2 Wisdom
+2 Natural Armor
AC: 20
HP: 11/17
5/6 Bombs used

F Human Alchemist 3 [hp:24/24 | AC: 17 T: 13 FF: 14 | F: +4, R: +6, W: +2 | Init +3, Perc: +6]

Sounds right on the bombs. I had 2 left, but I probably missed one.

I think Rhia was up a bit in the hallway before casting guidance because Em was already in melee.

If that is the case: Em casts CLW and then moves up behind Felix and touches him.
