Riley's near miss destroys one of the figments, leaving only three.
No damage to the actual Roaghaz.
1d3 ⇒ 3
Felix's rapier strikes at another of the figments and destroys it. Now leaving two.
No damage to the actual Roaghaz.
Braylee readies an attack for when the Chieftain begins casting again. (To go off next round)
As to Rhia, she was already standing between Em and Nighttail in the tunnel/staircase, so she didn't have to move to go between them. So last round, I didn't move her and had Em and Nighttail move up after Rhia cast Guidance on Em. If you wanted her to move up after she cast Guidance on Emarthine, that's fine - and I'll allow it. She can't move up behind Felix as there is no space for her to do so as the rock wall bisects the squares (one square being less than a 1/4 empty) and even then opens her up to an AoO from the kobold (#1) there. Do you wish to proceed with her moving up? And if so, she can only do so if she moves between the boulders in the centre of cave so she can reach Felix to heal him. Please let me know Braylee.
GM Ariarh
Okay, thanks Braylee. You've moved up 5ft and I moved Rhia up to the square behind you. +1 added to your readied attack. :)
Round 3: Nighttail and Hak
Nighttail rushes forward, spear in hand, and beside Riley attacks the two Roghazes.
M/W Spear attack on Roaghaz: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19
Damage, if hits: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
And hits another figment, leaving only one Roaghaz (the true one).
Hak moves up to the kobold guard on Felix and flanking with the bard/swashbuckler tries to bite the kobold.
Bite attack on Kobold Guard #1: 1d20 + 3 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (8) + 3 + 2 - 2 = 11
Damage, if hits: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
But his teeth cannot find a way through the leather armour.
Round 3: Emarthine
With scythe in hand, Emarthine strikes at the kobold guard (#2) before her.
M/W Scythe attack on Kobold #2: 1d20 + 3 - 2 ⇒ (11) + 3 - 2 = 12
Damage, if hits: 2d4 + 2 ⇒ (4, 4) + 2 = 10
but cannot find quarry through its armour.
End of Round 3. All other images of Roaghaz have been destroyed.
GM Ariarh
Round 4: Enemy!
Kobold Guard #1 attacks Felix with its spear.
Spear attack on Felix: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Damage, if hits: 1d6 - 1 ⇒ (1) - 1 = 0
and the spear whacks the boulder and outright misses the bard/swashbuckler.
--------------
Kobold Guard #2 attacks Emarthine with its spear.
Spear attack on Felix: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 1 = 12
Damage, if hits: 1d6 - 1 ⇒ (6) - 1 = 5
and strikes at her fine wooden armour and misses.
--------------
1d20 + 12 ⇒ (11) + 12 = 23 (Succeeds)
Braylee's arrow goes off to distract Roaghaz as he begins casting defensively in Draconic. Alas, it goes askew last minute and doesn't strike the kobold chieftain and he maintains his concentration and the spell.
The chieftain's hands are covered in the blue energy just as before and he touches Nighttail, Riley and Felix.
Negative energy damage on Nighttail: 1d6 ⇒ 6 (Down 6pts, total damage=9)
Negative energy damage on Riley: 1d6 ⇒ 5 (HP now 7/19)
Negative energy damage on Felix: 1d6 ⇒ 1 (HP now 0/16 and is now disabled.)
Nighttail, Riley and Felix, please roll a Fort Save (DC 14) or take 1 pt of STR check as well.
---------------
Round 4: Adventurers are up! Enemy standing: Roaghaz and two kobold guards.
GM Ariarh
Round 4: Nighttail & Hak
Nighttail's Fort Save (DC 14): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23 (Success and no STR damage)
Nighttail strikes at Roaghaz with her masterwork spear.
M/W Spear Power Attack on Roaghaz: 1d20 + 8 - 2 ⇒ (7) + 8 - 2 = 13
Damage, if hits: 1d6 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
but fails to bypass the chieftain's defenses.
------------------------------------------
Hak attacks the kobold guard (#1) with tooth and nail.
Bite Attack on Kobold #1: 1d20 + 3 - 2 ⇒ (4) + 3 - 2 = 5 (Miss)
Damage, if hits: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Claw Attack 1 on Kobold #1: 1d20 + 3 - 2 ⇒ (13) + 3 - 2 = 14 (Miss)
Damage, if hits: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Claw Attack 2 on Kobold #1: 1d20 + 3 - 2 ⇒ (15) + 3 - 2 = 16 (Hit)
Damage, if hits: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
the final claw finding a way past the kobold's armour and renting the kobold's flesh for 3 pts of damage.
------------------------------------------
Round 4: Emarthine
Leaving the kobold guard (#2) before her and moving around it to ensure she does not cop an AoO, Emarthine moves to between the boulders, and, defensively casting, reaches out to touch the very injured Felix.
Casting Defensively (DC 17): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
CLW on Felix: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Felix is now at 3/16 HP and no longer disabled, but is still very badly injured.
------------------------------------------
Round 4: Riley, Felix and Rhia to go. Riley & Felix to make a Fort Save (DC 14) or take 1 pt STR damage. I believe Braylee's initiative order now changes and she goes before Roaghaz next round?
GM Ariarh
Round 4: Botting Rhia
Wishing she could reach the injured Felix but unable to at present and also lacking in spells, the petite oracle called out, "I'm sorry, Nightail," took hold of her shortspear and cast Daylight on the metal tip, lifting the spear high into the air, filling the entire cave and part of the tunnel with bright light (60ft radius from Rhia).
All the kobolds within the bright light cry out in surprise/over-stimulation and shield their eyes, even poor Nighttail, and are dazzled for 20 mins. (Dazzled: The creature is unable to see well because of over-stimulation of the eyes. A dazzled creature takes a –1 penalty on attack rolls and sight-based Perception checks.)
(Rhia has Daylight 1/day. So after this, the spell is used. The yellow line/area on map denotes the bright light.)
Round 4: Riley and Felix to go!

EA: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10

EA: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
EA: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18
Wow... Assuming I can re-roll. If not bleh!
DD: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
DD: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
DD: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
DD: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
DD: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
DD: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21
Huh... This is almost unbeliavable - at least now we know it was not meant to be...
GM Ariarh
Okay, after receiving a PM from Riley, I went through my notes at home tonight, and it seems I need to make a correction.
Braylee's readied attack with the bow does hit Roaghaz for 6 pts damage. He, however, still makes the concentration check (even including the damage in the DC for the check). My apologies for that mistake on the hit.
Riley fails his fort save and takes the 1 pt of STR damage.
Riley's strike is true and he deals another 9 pts of damage to the Chieftain.
Nice going to both Braylee and Riley.
GM Ariarh
Round 4: Botting Felix
Fort Save (DC 14): 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 1 = 15 (Succeeds and no STR damage)
Rapier Attack with Flanking: 1d20 + 6 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (17) + 6 + 2 - 2 = 23
Damage, if hits: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
And Felix, too, manages to score a hit on the Kobold Chief for 3 pts of damage. Roaghaz is seriously injured at the moment.
End of Round 4
------------------------
GM Ariarh
Round 5: Enemy!
The kobold guard (#1) attacks Hak with its spear, even though it is having a hard time with the bright light.
Spear Attack on Hak: 1d20 + 1 - 1 ⇒ (16) + 1 - 1 = 16
Damage, if hits: 1d6 - 1 ⇒ (1) - 1 = 0
And misses the allosaurus.
-----------------------------
The kobold guard (#2) takes a 5ft step toward Braylee and attacks her with its spear as it tries to shield its eyes with its other hand,
Spear Attack on Braylee: 1d20 + 1 - 1 ⇒ (16) + 1 - 1 = 16
Damage, if hits: 1d6 - 1 ⇒ (5) - 1 = 4
but with the alchemist's fortified defenses cannot find quarry.
------------------------------
Okay, so it's Braylee's turn next, then Roaghaz and then the remaining adventurers.
GM Ariarh
As the people come into the cave and start fighting the kobolds in the room, Janusz begins immediately working on the loosened rope bindings around his wrists, trying to loosen them further still and slip his hands free.
In round 4 After a few tries, Janusz manages to slip free of the bindings around his wrists.
As he attempts to pick the old, primitive lock on his cage, the task proves difficult under such duress.
Toss up a Perception check, please.
GM Ariarh
About a few feet from your cage, to the right of you, you see something metallic in the dirt/straw on the cave floor. You reach out with your arm/hand and grasp the object with your fingertips and drag it toward the bars of your cage.
You manage to pull the object through the space in the bars and look down to see a set of old looking keys.
What do you do now?
GM Ariarh
You try each of the three keys in the lock outside the cage, and, as you push the third key into the lock, you hear a discernible *click* in the chamber and are relieved. Your cage is unlocked! Although you are currently still gagged.
Please roll initiative at this time.
GM Ariarh
The dice bot really hates you today/tonight.
Okay, so you take your next action when the other adventurers do. Right now, I'm just waiting on Braylee to take her turn and then it's back to the enemy and then the rest of you guys. But it's closing in on midnight here and I'm headed to bed. I'll check the boards in my morning. Have a good day, please. And, good luck! ;)
Braylee Mulciberus
mwk longbow/Precise Shot/PBS/mutagen: 1d20 + 7 - 2 ⇒ (3) + 7 - 2 = 8
Damage: 1d8 + 1 + 1d6 ⇒ (6) + 1 + (6) = 13
Braylee will 5' step away from the Kobold and ready another shot to try to distract the caster. She unleashes an arrow as soon as she sees him cast. Unfortunately, the Kobold being so close with the spear distracts her a bit.
+4 Dexterity, -2 Wisdom
+2 Natural Armor
AC: 20
HP: 11/17
6/6 Bombs used
GM Ariarh
Round 5: Roaghaz
The Chieftain changes tactics and instead of casting again, he (as a swift action) forces his teeth to grow rapidly and then attempts to bite the traitor, Nighttail, even as the bright light plagues his vision.
But right before, Braylee tries to shoot at the Kobold Chief to distract him, but alas the shot goes askew.
Bite Attack on Nighttail: 1d20 + 1 - 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 - 1 = 2
Damage, if hits: 1d6 - 2 ⇒ (5) - 2 = 3
Much to the Chief's annoyance, he bites Nighttail's armour without much success and she remains unscathed.
Round 5: Remaining Adventurers, you are up!
GM Ariarh
Round 5: Nighttail and Hak
Nighttail once again strikes at Roaghaz with her spear, even though the light plays havoc with her vision.
M/W Spear Attack on Roaghaz: 1d20 + 8 - 1 ⇒ (12) + 8 - 1 = 19
Damage, if hits: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
The strike is true and the Kobold Chieftain takes 3 pts of damage.
Hak, with tooth and nail, attacks the injured Kobold Guard (#1) in front of him.
Bite Attack on Kobold #1: 1d20 + 3 - 2 ⇒ (14) + 3 - 2 = 15 (Hit)
Damage, if hits: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Claw Attack 1 on Kobold #1: 1d20 + 3 - 2 ⇒ (20) + 3 - 2 = 21 (Hit)
Damage, if hits: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Claw Attack 2 on Kobold #1: 1d20 + 3 - 2 ⇒ (10) + 3 - 2 = 11 (Miss)
Damage, if hits: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Confirm Crit on Claw Attack 1: 1d20 + 3 - 2 ⇒ (10) + 3 - 2 = 11 (Does not confirm)
and manages to wound the kobold for 8 pts of damage and it drops, bleeding out on the cave floor.
(Only one kobold guard remains.)
Round 5: Emarthine
Seeing the very injured Kobold leader, Emarthine attempts to trip him with her scythe.
Combat Manoeuvre to Trip: 1d20 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 - 2 = 15 vs Roaghaz's CMD
and knocks Roaghaz off his feet. (Roaghaz is now prone: A prone defender gains a +4 bonus to Armor Class against ranged attacks, but takes a –4 penalty to AC against melee attacks.)
"Finish him off," the druidess instructs Riley and Felix.
Round 5: Riley, Felix, Rhia & Mysterious Prisoner to go!
GM Ariarh
Round 5: Botting Rhia
Rhia takes a 5ft step away from the remaining, threatening kobold guard to stand between Braylee and Hak.
She reaches out and lays her hand on the alchemist and casts Guidance on her. Braylee you have Guidance on you.
Round 5: Riley, Felix and Mysterious Stranger to go! Roaghaz is very injured and prone, and, one kobold guard remains at full hp.
GM Ariarh
Round 5: Botting Felix
Taking advantage of the prone kobold leader, the very injured Felix strikes down at him with his rapier, calling upon fortune's favour one last time this day to aid his hand.
Rapier Attack with Luck & Flanking: 1d20 + 6 + 2 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (12) + 6 + 2 + 2 - 2 = 20
Damage, if hits: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
and cuts a deep gash in the Chieftain's side. Roaghaz looks shocked for a moment and then closes his eyes, falling into unconsciousness, bleeding out/dying on the straw floor of the Grand Hall. "That's for almost killing me," said the bard/swashbuckler in a tight voice to the motionless Roaghaz.
The last kobold guard watches his chieftain close his eyes and not stir/move again, and, believing him dead, drops his spear to the ground, raising his hands and calling out in Draconic, "I surrender! Don't kill me."
End of combat.
Riley and Mysterious Stranger, what do you care to do now? And the rest of you?
GM Ariarh
Rhia moves forward, tentatively around the dying kobold bodies and mindful of the one guard who recently surrendered.
She casts Detect Magic and looks over the body of the Kobold leader and then makes her various spellcraft rolls where necessary.
On Roaghaz's body, the following items are discovered:
* Cloak of Fangs
* 2 scrolls of Glitterdust
* A Wand of Web (5 charges)
* A Wand of CLW (5 charges)
* A mundane dagger
* A set of keys (for his personal chests)
Searching the western section of the cave, you discover Roaghaz's sleeping quarters and two locked chests.
Using the keys you found on the chieftain's body, you open the chests. One of the chests holds 1,895 gold pieces and the other holds six large green scales and an even larger black scale.
All seven scales are dragon scales!
Riley "Lucky" Rylin'dar
Riley takes the keys and heads to the chest(s). He checks for traps before opening.
perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22
He looks up at the newly freed prisoner. "Well met, mate. Are you OK? Rhia here may have some healing to spare." Riley takes out his waterskin and tosses it to the man. "Are you thirsty?"
Ohhhhhhhh! I love that cloak. It would give me another chance to get sneak attack 5x a day (at -5 though)
GM Ariarh
Riley discovered no traps and easily opened the two chests with the keys.
I'm certain the mysterious stranger will reveal himself later today. ;)
Rhia's Know. Nature (DC 14): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
Rhia could not readily identify the creature to which the scales belonged to. She put it down to the stress of the day and the killings inside the lair. It had been all too much for her to witness. All too much.
Emarthine's Know. Nature (DC 14): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15
Emarthine stepped forward to take a closer look at the scales; her eyes widened and then she looked to Riley, "These are dragon scales, from a green and black dragon. A rare prize, indeed. No wonder the Chieftain kept them locked away. I wonder how he came to possess them."
Braylee Mulciberus
Braylee breathes a sigh of relief as the Chieftain collapses. "Nice strike Felix." She moves over and looks at the treasure with Riley. Turning to Glib, "Is this one going to swear loyalty to you?" She motions to the surrendering Kobold. "Or do we need to chain them up?"
Nightttail The Glib NPC
Nighttail briskly asked the healer to turn off the bright light on her spear. Rhia apologised and dismissed the spell, returning the light in the cave only to that provided by the four dancing orbs. Nighttail drew a breath and smiled, "Better, thank you."
Nighttail moved to the throne chair and without care to the dying chieftain on the ground by her feet, sat down and formally claimed it as her own. Calling to the remaining kobold guard, she declared in Draconic, "I'm Chief of the Blood Vows. My word is law. If you don't follow my word, then you'll be put to death by my allies, as Roaghaz was put to death. Go, let what remains of the tribe know that Roaghaz is dead and Nighttail is Chieftain. Then report to me. If you raise the tribe against me, you will be put to death. If you stand by my rule, you'll be the leader of my new guards. Go, now!"
The kobold guard pondered the word of the one Roaghaz had labelled traitor. She had taken the throne and was their leader now. He bowed before her in obedience (and upon offer of lead guard) and picking up his spear, rushed out the cave and into the tunnel to spread the word that Roaghaz was dead and Nighttail was Chief of the Blood Vows.
Looking to the human named Braylee, she switched to the Common tongue for not all in her group understood the language of dragons. "I've taken rule of this tribe and they sshall heed me well enough. That iss our way."
"Ass to our agreement, you helped me kill Roaghaz, and my promisse sstands - I won't attack or kill the people of Belhaim, if we are left in peace."
Nighttail glanced at her allosaurus and smiled wide, her sharp teeth readily on display. Hak made some happy *roar* sound and using his strong jaw took hold of the dead kobold by his feet as well as the two by the entrance and then dragged them back into the tunnel and out of sight.
Damage: 3d6 + 3 ⇒ (4, 6, 4) + 3 = 17
Standing, Nighttail moved to the dying Roaghaz (his possessions already claimed by the adventurers) and using her masterwork spear delivered a coup de grace, piercing the heart of her predecessor and killing the kobold elder in one swift thrust. "His boness will make a good addition to the wall of boness, for all to ssee." The female kobold left the dead, late chieftain on the floor by her throne chair for the tribe to see when they came to swear their fealty to her.
She addressed the party in the cave, "Do what you musst and return to your town with the treassuress you've claimed and no more."
Janusz Ereben
Going to retcon here just a tad, because you guys finished the combat too fast :D
Even as Felix thrusts his rapier through Roaghaz's gut, he feels a strong hand grasping his shoulder. In spite of the initial feelings of alert, there is an immediate comfort, as a warmth washes over him, healing his serious wounds - "For our strength is eternal" - the stranger speaks in a strong voice.
CLW on Felix: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
As the others rush around to gather the possessions of the fallen, the man just stands there in the corner of the room, staring hard at all the activity going on, and particularly hard at all the kobolds in the room.
He has well chiseled features, almost as if elvish like, even to the extreme of the slightly elongated ears. His hair is bluish white about shoulder high (and quite disheveled at the moment), his skin slightly tanned from many hours in the road. His eyes are bright green, and at the moment are almost completely blood shot.
His simple travelling attire is a terrible mess - dirty, ragged and ripped in more places than not, and through the tears you can see multiple scratches and bruises on the skin.
He is strongly built at around 6' tall with an elegant frame however, but his breathing is labored, almost as if in gasps while he rubs his reddened wrists and arms with calloused, strong hands. The man's chest sports more than one scar and on his left, exposed shoulder he bears some sort of tribal marking.
He looks up at the newly freed prisoner. "Well met, mate. Are you OK? Rhia here may have some healing to spare." Riley takes out his waterskin and tosses it to the man. "Are you thirsty?"
Grabbing the thrown waterskin, Janusz nods at his interloper - "Very much so" - but does not drink from it yet - "Are the kobolds your... Friends?" - he snarls, looking around.
When listening to the declaration from the kobold sitting on the throne, he nods again - "I see" - then looks back at Riley - "My gear is in that chest over there. Do you think I will be allowed to retrieve it?" - he adds.
Thank you! :D
Riley "Lucky" Rylin'dar
"Are the kobolds your... Friends?"
Riley stands and moves over the the newcomer. "I am Riley." He offers his hand to shake. Afterward, he takes out a flask and takes a drink from it. "Would you prefer something stronger than water?" He offers the flask to the warrior. "We were sent to deal with the tribe. As long as they remain peaceful, we would rather they live on."
He turns to Nighttail and bows his head in respect. "I hope it is more than an agreement, Chief. We have bled together." He walks over and presents his hand. "I commit to being an emissary and ambassador for you and your tribe to the town of Belhaim should you agree to it. I ask that you avoid the evil practices of the former leader. I think the town could grow to be a trade partner with your tribe once they see that you are a noble leader."
Riley waits for the Chief to answer the question about Janusz's gear, hoping it is a chance for her to earn favor with the warrior.

"I won't say no" - he accepts both the handshake, and the 'stronger' beverage offered by the elf, taking a long drink from it - "I needed this. Thank you. I am Janusz" - and returning it to Riley, eyes again on the kobolds around him - "I was captured... Was hoping for a chance at striking back. Guess you have done that for me"
Nightttail The Glib NPC
He turns to Nighttail and bows his head in respect. "I hope it is more than an agreement, Chief. We have bled together." He walks over and presents his hand. I think the town could grow to be a trade partner with your tribe once they see that you are a noble leader."
The Half-Elf knew how to show respect and Nighttail liked that. When he presented his hand, the female kobold looked at it - These people enjoyed touching hands when agreements were struck. She once again grasped it with her smaller, taloned hand. "You may be our emisssary. Unlike Roaghaz, I won't be taking people from your town or harming them. Your lady leader hassn't agreed to the tribe sstaying on the outsskirtss of her town. Firsst there comess talk, agreement, then maybe trade." Nighttail nodded and then lounged back in the throne chair, delighting in her triumph over Roaghaz.
"My gear is in that chest over there. Do you think I will be allowed to retrieve it?"
Nighttail waved her taloned hand. "Yess. Take that which is yourss and go, be free."
GM Ariarh
Rhialytra has remained quiet as the talk had started. She was desperate to leave the cave with the previous, dead kobold leader left on display on the floor.
She stepped forward, mindful of the bloodied straw in places and made a quick introduction, "I am Rhialtyra Sunaki. You have my gratitude for healing my companion, there. Now, the oracle moved to Felix and Riley, not looking at the dead Roaghaz, "You two are the most injured from what I can see. I shall use the last of my magic to heal some of your injury, then we should really head out of this lair and get back to town before dark."
Rhialtyra carefully lay her hand on Felix.
LoH with Blessed Touch on Felix: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4 (Felix's HP now 13/16)
And then making a fist with her right hand, fingers facing herself, and making a circle in front of her chest before touching it to the spot over her heart, she recited the words, "May light touch and bless you," before touching Riley's shoulder.
CLW with Blessed Touch on Riley: 1d8 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 2 + 1 = 7 (Riley's HP now 14/19)
"Let us collect our things and leave." Looking to Nighttail she quietly added, "We expect much from you, Chief Nighttail. Be a better leader than your predecessor. I wish you luck. Farewell."
Janusz Ereben
"Good" - Janusz nods at Nightttail's response, and moves to the chest, stopping short as Rhialtyra approaches him.
She stepped forward, mindful of the bloodied straw in places and made a quick introduction, "I am Rhialtyra Sunaki. You have my gratitude for healing my companion, there. Now,
"Do not thank me" - he nods grimly - "Even though I am not exactly sure of what just happened in here, whatever I do will not be enough payment for you having saved me from what fate awaited me" - and bows - "It is me who should be thanking you and your companions milady"
He observes carefully as she heals the others, and the surprising powers at her behest - "I would also like to offer my assistance" - he approaches the beautiful healer - "I command some... Healing powers also. I have learned to harness them through the years. If you would not be offended, I am still strong enough to offer them to you all"
If Rhialtyra and the others agree, Janusz will top them off with 2 channels:
Channel: 1d6 ⇒ 2
Channel: 1d6 ⇒ 4
GM Ariarh
"I will not be offended. Thank you for working beside me," Rhialtyra said to the man.
The stranger called upon the divine forces at his disposal and a wave of positive energy washed over the company of allies, healing their wounds.
All the adventuring party are back to full HP. Riley still has 1 STR damage at the moment, but after a good night's rest should be restored by morning. Please ensure your status bars show the correct hp. Thanks!
----------------------
The group collect the loot and bid Nighttail farewell and move back through the Blood Vows lair methodically, through the passages they had come through. Their steps were not impeded by any kobold or trap and they found their way to the entrance of the lair. Emarthine called to the three hiding in the bushes a little up the ledge and together they moved up the ledge to the entrance of the tunnel into the Witch Tower. Again, they moved through the Old Witch Tower with the ease of experience and found themselves back on the outskirts of Belhaim proper in the late afternoon.
Emarthine turned to the group, "You return Bophre to her parents' dairy farm and the Bellathis may come with me and stay the night at my farm. Talia has her hands full and I have space and will provide them with a meal and a bed and they can set out in the morning. You are an interesting lot and it was a pleasure fighting by your side. Until we meet, again." Emarthine gave a wave.
Carlo and Sela looked at the party, "All our belongings were taken by the kobolds. We have nothing to give you as reward for saving us, but you have our deep gratitude and friendship. Good bye and may the gods keep you safe." With that, all three moved down the hill toward the orchard.
Bophre smiled wearily and addressed them, "My parents' farm is not far from Talia's inn - across the bridge and down the Verduran Highway." The remaining party moved back down the now familiar roads and looked relieved when they saw the lit sconces and pretty gardens of The Wise Piper. Regrettably the party could not enter just yet and continued along the bridge and down the highway toward Malak Farm.
At the door, you are greeted by Bophre's surprised, jubilant and grateful mother and as you turn to leave for the inn she happily rewards you with 200 gold pieces. The embraced Malaks wave the party goodbye and you start back toward Belhaim proper and The Wise Piper as the sun drops lower in the sky.
The time in game currently is 5.45pm (Fireday, 1st day of Gozran). Outside the The Wise Piper are Riley, Felix, Braylee, Rhia and Janusz. You are still at level 2 until morning. If you'd like to get into some rp, please go right ahead.
Janusz Ereben
"Seems like you have done much good for a lot of people today" - Janusz comments to the other as they stand before The Wise Piper, then plops himself down heavily on the dirt road, his gear next to him - "Damn, I'm tired. Those kobolds had me there for a few days, but it felt like much longer" - he frowns, looking at himself, covered in filth from head to toe - "They can be devious, for such little ones. I need a bath to start with, and then a drink. Or several"
Looking back at the group, he presses on nodding his head toward the inn - "Do you know this place?"
Riley "Lucky" Rylin'dar
Riley pats Janusz on the shoulder. "Thanks for the healing back there, mate." He points at the Wise Piper. "You have come to the right place for hospitality. Talia and her crew are amazing." He leads the group forward. "Come. Let's head in. I need to see about a girl." He gives a hearty smile as the thought of seeing Talia warms his insides. For a moment with the caster, I thought it was over. The thought of never seeing Talia again... "Get clean and fill your stomach. I'd like to hear your story tonight by the hearth, Janusz."
Janusz Ereben
"Very well" - Janusz nods with a weary smile, picking himself up - "If this is the right place, then I must have a look at it, if they let me through the door that it" - he adds with a chuckle - "See about a girl you say? Very well, at the hearth we shall meet, later on" - the man finishes, following Riley and the others.
Braylee Mulciberus
Braylee echoes Riley's thankfulness. "Yes. Thank you very much. I cannot imagine being a prisoner in there." She gives him a warm smile. "These accommodations will be much better." She winks at the newcomer and follows the group in.
Delfi the Serving Girl NPC
The door of the inn opens and the familiar golden curls of Delfi can be seen in the doorway. As the girl notices the adventurers in the front garden, she cries out and rushes forward. "You're back! And alive! Talia has been worrying so for the hour was growing late and you had not returned. Come inside."
The girl's hazel eyes settle on Riley and look him over to ensure he is unharmed before smiling brightly at him before rushing forward to embrace him.
She looks around him at Braylee and adds, "Xemne is waiting inside for you. Your cousin has been worried, too."
Delfi let go off Riley; momentarily pausing to take in the stranger among them and then ushers the party inside the inn.
Talia Orem NPC
Inside The Wise Piper the dining hall is once more decorated in scented red roses and pretty soft candlelight. The fire in the hearth is lit and crackles in a welcoming manner.
The adventurer's usual table is already set with a pair of platters filled with various cheeses, figs, honey and two loaves - pumpkin and barley bread. In the middle stands a large pot of still-warm, fragrant rabbit stew: slow cooked rabbit with mushrooms, parsnips, carrots and herbs from Talia's garden. A wooden ladle sits to the side for serving and the wooden bowls and spoons are set beside the pot.
Talia looks up and registers the party's return. Her brown eyes linger on Riley a long moment before smiling to all and welcoming them to the table. "It is good to see you return in one piece. Food and drink now and we will have your baths prepared as you eat." She notes the stranger among them and moves forward a little, "Well met. I am Talia Orem and I bid you welcome to The Wise Piper."

"No need to thank me" - Janusz turned to the woman - "It is what... It is a part of what I do" - and smiled.
As they enter the inn, he cannot help but observe the way the others are welcome, mainly Riley - a little self aware of his current state, he managed howewer to nod a shy smile at the young girl greeting them all.

Janusz pauses for a long moment - taking in the comfortable and welcoming space, already feeling more at ease, and suddenly remembering how hungry he is when his eyes rest mainly on the cheeses and bread.

"Well met to you" - the warrior bows - "I am Janusz. And I must apologize for coming to your establishment in such a state. It really could not be helped, as my former hosts where not given to much refinement" - he smiles already in a better mood.
"The displayed food smells amazingly, and reminded me how hungry I really am for some real nourishment, but I must clean myself first - would there be a chance to arrange for a hot bath at this time of day?"

Had this man been a prisoner of the kobolds? She was certain she'd hear the story at some point. "Master Janusz, no apology is necessary. And aye, a tub will be brought up to your room so you may bathe before you eat." The proprietress gestured for Delfi to come closer, "Tell Jax to being up the tub and help you bring the water to the room at the far side of the stairs." Delfi bobbed her head in agreement and ran over to the barkeep to pass along Talia's instruction.
"If you'll follow me upstairs, I'll show you to your room, Master Janusz. Your bath should be ready soon."
It was then that Rhilatyra spoke up, "Talia, I would like to bathe now, too, if you'd be so kind to arrange it. It has been a taxing day."
"Certainly, Mistress Rhialtyra." Talia motioned to Delfi and Jax that two lots of baths and water needed to be arranged and they slipped into the kitchen to organise them.
Talia, moved ahead of Janusz and Rhilatyra. Once upstairs, Talia showed the newcomer his room: a neat chamber, not overly large but accommodating a single cot with clean sheets and woollen blanket, chamber pot, a dresser with a bowl and pitcher for washing, a side table with a candlestick and a single wooden chair with a clean muslin washcloth set atop. She lit the candle to bring more light into the space and turned and smiled. "Jax will be up shortly to set your bath," and looking down the hall at Rhialtyra, "and yours, Mistress Rhia. Delfi will knock on your door when they are ready. I will see you downstairs when you are done. Any clothes that require laundering, please leave them in the empty buckets by the tub and they'll be collected and washed." With that, Talia smiled and left them to return to the dining hall and the others.
It isn't too long before the baths are readied for Janusz and Rhialtyra and they are left in private to their respective ablution.
Riley "Lucky" Rylin'dar
Riley hugs Delfi tightly as she embraces him and then kisses the top of her head before she releases him. "We are OK and Belhaim is safer now." He follows the young girl further inside.
After Janusz and Talia speak, Riley moves over to Talia. He stares in to her eyes for a moment and then hugs her tightly. The embrace is as passionate as one that a lover would give his betrothed after not seeing her for months. He holds on a bit longer than would be normal. Whispering, "Gods...I missed you Talia" He leans back and gives her a warm smile.
He sits at the table next to where Talia is standing to rest his legs. He places his pack on the floor next to him.
GM Ariarh
As she returned to the dining hall, Talia watched as Riley drew closer, looked deeply at her and then embraced her. She gave into the long embrace and returned it with equal measure - glad to feel his arms about her and knowing he was safe and sound. His whisper made her heart skip and she watched as his smile spread across his face and she felt revived by it. She whispered, with earnest conviction, "I missed you, too."
As Riley sat down on the chair closest her at the end of the oaken table, Talia ladled some of the stew into a bowl and added a chunk of bread and cheese and set it before him, and did the same for Felix and Braylee. Jorje brought over a jug of mead and a jug of ale and set it down with the mugs. (Rhia and Janusz are bathing upstairs at the moment. When they come back down, they can eat with the group.)
Delfi took the place on the other side of Riley and poured her own bowl of stew. She took some of the pumpkin bread and began to eat. Between mouthful she asked Riley and the others, "Did you kill all the kobolds? Was it terrible?"
Talia tried to hush her sister for such talk was not pleasant especially over a meal, yet the younger girl smiled innocently and waited to see if anyone would answer.
Braylee Mulciberus
"Thank you, Delfi." Braylee heads straight in and looks for Xemne. When she finds her, she moves over and sits next to her. "Evening. How was your day?" Braylee smiles and acts as if it was just a normal day.
Braylee welcomes the food. "Thank you, Talia. This looks amazing." She turns to Delfi and answers her. "All of the bad ones. It was terrible. We were over run on more than one occasion. Luckily, Felix and Riley were able to save us all." She gives the boys a teasing grin.
Xemne of Demgazi NPC
Braylee heads straight in and looks for Xemne. When she finds her, she moves over and sits next to her. "Evening. How was your day?" Braylee smiles and acts as if it was just a normal day.
Xemne had been outside, inspecting the back garden, when she had heard voices and walked back inside. She went to stand by the fireplace as the reunion unfolded, not wanting to get in the way. When Braylee approached her, Xemne smiled and they sat down in the chairs by the fire. "Evening, cousin. My day was simple and uneventful, thank you. By the looks of you, I would wager your day differed much from mine. Do not sit there and smile like you took a light stroll in the garden. Tell me, how bad was it? Do not tell me some muted story - I would hear it all. Perhaps, tonight, when we are back in our own home. I was worried, Braylee, I will not deny it. But I am proud of you for aiding the adventurers." The Demgazi woman patted her younger kinswoman's hand in a reassuring, familial way. "Now, let us return to the table and eat some supper. You must be hungry." Xemne stood and waited for Braylee to do the same and then both women moved to the table and sat down, side by side.
