@Taldo: There are ample female npcs for the boys. ;)
To all: My apologies, but I have to head out of town early tomorrow morning for a serious family emergency. I may be able to post again on my Saturday (your Friday), so I’ll be off the boards until then. If Aeracian wants to roll a Perception check in the meantime, I will respond to the checks when I’m back. So, for now, I’ll just put the game on a temporary pause. Thanks for your patience.
I'm terribly sorry about your family. If there's anything we can do to help, please let us know. Meanwhile, you and your family are in my prayers and I hope things get better soon!

Uzziah |

I just realised that I overlooked something in character creation. The Tactician class ability gives a cavalier a free teamwork feat, which they can share with others as a standard action.
I've decided to go with this:
Shake It Off (Teamwork)
You support your allies and help them recover from crippling effects.
Benefit: When you are adjacent to one or more allies who also have this feat, you gain a +1 bonus on saving throws per such ally (maximum +4).

Daryl Bohannon |

Hello, gentlemen.
Thanks for the well wishes, I appreciate them. The game will officially resume on Monday. Things should be less chaotic by then.
Thanks for advising what your Teamwork feat is, Uzziah.
Enjoy your weekend. :)
Hope everything is alright, GM and we'll see you all soon!

Uzziah |

All the best, Ariarh.

Uzziah |

Not a bad start for Uzziah in combat!
@Ariarh: I accidentally posted as Decimus in this thread at some point. Could you move my Decimus profile into "former characters" so that it's not the default for my future posts?

GM Ariarh of Azlant |

@ Uzziah: I have removed the Decimus id from this game. :)
In your recent post, Uzziah elected to stand up to fight. But per the rules, once he stands he must make an acrobatics check to remain steady/standing before he can attack. If successful, Uzziah can attack without the -2 penalty. If you fail, you then have to succeed at a reflex save DC 10 or risk falling into the water.
A character can stand up to attack (therefore negating the penalty), but must make an Acrobatics check DC 10 each round in which they attack in the standing position. Success means the character remains standing...
In this instance, I'll just have Uzziah sit and attack with penalty, then the checks can stand as they are. :)
====================
The full rules:
The depth of the water in this section of the bay is just a little over 5ft. Fighting the creatures from inside the rowboat, while seated, incurs a -2 penalty on attack rolls. A character can stand up to attack (therefore negating the penalty), but must make an Acrobatics check DC 10 each round in which they attack in the standing position. Success means the character remains standing (unless their balance is threatened by something else) until they attack again. A character who fails the Acrobatics check, must attempt a Reflex save DC 10. If they are successful, they immediately sit back down as a free action (standing back up is a move action, as normal). If a character fails their reflex save then they fall overboard into an adjacent square, then any characters fighting in water follow normal rules for aquatic combat.

Uzziah |

Cheers, though I think you've removed Decimus from the game and not from active characters. Ruins of Azlant is showing up as inactive for me.
And done, added the acrobatics check at the end of my last gameplay post so as not to throw off existing rolls. :)

Uzziah |

Hmmm. A fresh gameplay post by Uzziah doesn't show the game as active for me.
@Ariarh, could you add Decimus as a player but not as a character? I've little idea what the GM controls are like on this forum.
I'll add the acrobatics check for Ezekiel also.

Uzziah |

That's perfect now. Thank you very much. :)

Daryl Bohannon |

Hey! So normally I check all the campaigns I'm on when I hit the "refresh" button to see what updates there are.
This is why I botted this game with another Avatar which I typically use in all my games to make it easier, but unfortunately I think it was removed somehow. Anyway it could be returned?
Also - any word from Aerecina?

Taldo the Tanner |
No worries, Taldo. Sorry you had to work a shift on your day off. Enjoy your rest, now. :)
I sort of brought it on myself. I'm going to a family reunion this coming weekend, and requested paid time off for Thursday Friday and Saturday. In my request I didn't specify that I wanted to keep my regular days off. So I was scheduled PTO for Thursday, making Friday and Saturday my 'scheduled days off'
So I'm working ten days straight to get to my long weekend :(

Uzziah |

Ouch! Hopefully you won't be too wrecked Taldo.

Uzziah |

@Ariarh:
Just a note for future: If I don't specifically say so, the default for my skill checks or attack rolls is Uzziah himself. Ezekiel doesn't have that many skills after all, and his rolls I will normally mark out as such.

Uzziah |

Good night Ariarh. :)

Aeracian |

Sorry for delays in responses, you guys are going so fast! lol

Uzziah |

Great walls of text form here most times I'm away for long. ;)

GM Ariarh of Azlant |

Thank you for the encouragement, Daryl.
I think as the game progresses, timing of posts and responses will improve as we all get into a rhythm with the adventure and each other.
As to the wall of texts, I will do what I can on my end to use more spoilers and such to minimise the issue and make the game play thread cleaner and easier to read and navigate.
My weekend will be rather busy as my niece is having her engagement party and I will have house guests to take care of. I will make some postings tomorrow, but then I will not update again until my Monday (your Sunday).

Uzziah |

Don't get me wrong, I think the quality of posts from GM and players is high. It just takes me a while to read and process them in sufficient attention to detail for my tastes. :)
I am enjoying the campaign thus far, and I'm looking forward to proceeding. Cheers again Ariarh for setting it up, and enjoy your home front activities!

GM Ariarh of Azlant |

Thank you, Uzziah. I, too, am enjoying all the characters and their rp. Tonight, I've made smaller posts only answering a single character rather than making one long post to include everyone. I hope that helps.
And thanks re the engagement festivities. The happy couple are having three parties to celebrate - it should be interesting. We're only attending the first party. ;)
Okay, the hour's grown late and I'm headed to bed. Have yourselves a good day and I'll respond/post in my morning. Good night! :)

Uzziah |

I've certainly found it easier to keep up, though they have been while I've been available.
And that sounds great. :)

Taldo the Tanner |
I'm putting this in all my games, I'm going to a family reunion for the next three days, my posting will be spotty and I will be posting at irregular times. Please 'bot' me as necessary.
I should get in a solid post before we leave, but it may be in the morning because I'm really tired right now, and need to sleep soon.

Uzziah |

@Taldo: Cheers for the heads up and enjoy.

GM Ariarh of Azlant |

No worries, Taldo. Please enjoy the reunion and thanks for letting us know.
I just received a call that at my Aunt in Canada has passed away just minutes ago. May she rest in peace. I will not be posting today in respect to her and will be supporting/consoling my father and our Canadian family. I will make an update later tonight my time (quite late) but as I have mentioned the weekend is a very busy one for me and I’ll get back to regular posting come my Monday (your Sunday). Thanks for your understanding and patience.

Uzziah |

@Ariarh:
I am sorry for your loss. Take as long as you require.

Aeracian |

My condolences Ariarh. Take whatever time you need.

GM Ariarh of Azlant |

Thank you for your condolences, gentlemen. Very nice of you. I'd only met my aunt once - when they visited Australia when I was 7. I only vaguely remember her, although I have seen many a picture since on Facebook. When I was visiting Toronto in 1994, she and her family could not come and see us. That was a shame. She's free of pain now ... my heart goes out to her immediate family - husband and son.
And no worries, Taldo. I won't be posting over the weekend as I have RL commitments - never a quiet moment with large families. So please enjoy your own family get together! :)

GM Ariarh of Azlant |

I posted this in the Spider God's discussion thread, but I'll post it here, too.
I will not be on the Paizo boards over the period starting from the 1st July to the 4th July (Northern hemisphere: 30th June to 3rd July) as we're going away for a short trip and we simply want to unwind and relax. So, I will not be updating the game thread during this period. When I return from my trip, then I will update and we can proceed as normal. Again, thanks for your understanding. :)

GM Ariarh of Azlant |

Thanks, Taldo. I hope so, too. :)
I'll be posting as much as I can before I leave for my trip.
It's late, here, so I'm headed to bed. Will update in the morning. :)
p.s. Taldo, you're back up to full HP after Morwenna's channelled healing, so can you please update your status line under your alias/token please as it's still showing you as down in HP. Thanks kindly.

GM Ariarh of Azlant |

I've put in formulas to add and subtract values. As you find more loot, it can be added to sheet by anyone in the group. If you forget to update, I'll update it as we go along. If someone takes a CLW's potion, can they please put their name in the 'Taken by' column beside the CLW potion item. I've added Uzziah's name to the Quick Runner's Shirt as he said he would use it.
I'll add the Loot List link to the campaign thread for easy access.

Taldo the Tanner |
LOL, the guy with the mount is going to run faster...It's cool, I'm just being obnoxious.
I do want to know how we are splitting magical items. Are we taking what we need and then splitting the sale of the rest. Or are we calculating everything into the split?
I don't care either way, but it will determine what gear I keep.

Uzziah |

Uzziah does spend some time off Ezekiel in fairness. ;)
And here's a proposal I saw in another campaign that I thought was quite fair for loot.
Right I've got a proposal that might work if people find it agreeable.
Any equipment picked up a character can take up and use. Any items not claimed for use are sold off and added to the gold which is then divided evenly. If a claimed item is later sold (as a better one is found or they buy an upgrade) then the value of it is split among everyone.
If of course someone uses their share of the gold to buy an item it is their item and if later sold the gold is entirely theirs.
Consumable items get used, it's what they are there for. If you guys are buying 'group items' like the Wand of CLW ye are going to discuss it beforehand and work something out. For CLW probably everyone will pitch in... a hard rule on this isn't needed as it'll be a case by case basis. I could see a party with a sorceror and monk having just the two of them buy a wand of mage armour between just the two of them
How does this sound, I'm trying to avoid a huge post.

LOL, I think the shirt adds an action, not that it makes him run faster. Like I said, just being obnoxious :-)
And here's a proposal I saw in another campaign that I thought was quite fair for loot.
I like the proposal, it's very similar to other games I've played in.
Like I said, I'm good with whatever we choose to do.
For what it's worth, I have read that if players find and use the items In the AP's they tend to be at or above the 'wealth curve.' You'll have to trust me on this, Luke knows his crap...

Daryl Bohannon |

Regarding loot - generally I feel that having an equal division of items based on wealth is typically a good device to keep things equitable. To make this work the items a person takes is converted to their value in GP. The more expensive items they get, the higher their total GP Value is so that when new items are available people with the least amount of loot get the first "dibs" on new stuff.
I also generally find it's useful to keep a separate "slot" available for "party loot" (so if we have 5 PC's/NPC's in the party dividing the loot by 6 means that the 6th slot goes to items for the entire party to use when needed). This slot would be where we keep things like Cure Potions, Wands and (potentially) things like scrolls for Raise Dead.
That's how I prefer to handle things from an "out of game" perspective. It may not always work out, but it's typically the best way to deal with keeping things fair.
In-Game Darryl doesn't care as much about goods and gear; he has Survival so he can hunt and live in the wilderness, he can do Heal checks so he can take care of his injuries and he has Craft so he can make gear when he needs it to do the other stuff - what more does he need?
Don't listen to In-Game me - Out-of-Game me needs money - lots and lots of money ;)
