I hate trying to figure out the price of a magical weapon on D&D systems... always confusing... I want to get a new scimitar and enchant it with a +3 magical enchantment... would that be 18k+weapon+MW or 32k+weapon+MW?

New Scimitar to replace the one that i left on the floor in the end of the last game. This one is a +3 nullifying Scimitar. Either 18,315gp or 32,315gp

The other item i got was a Sleeves of Many Garments to fit 42's characters image. 200 gp

Remaining gold is either 17,192gp or 3,192gp. If the former, i would want to buy one more thing.

42, don't worry about that. I'd say that you could have been touching your sword when you cast dimension door, and then picked it up at some point afterwards.

Moreover, I don't think you can afford a +3 nullifying scimitar. The price for a magic weapon is the effective enhancement value, squared and then multiplied by 2000. So it would cost you a painful 72,315gp.

I might have messed up in the +3 part. Thought a magical weapon (I've been told) needsthe +1 enchantment before it can be enchanted with magic. To get a +1 Nullifying Scimitar would be 32,315... right?

You have the right of it on both accounts 42: you have to have a +1 enchantment on a weapon before you can add special abilities when enchanting it, and that would make the weapon 32000 plus the cost of the masterwork weapon.

In a field not so far away, Earl has reached the tank that Rhon told him to go to. He peeks up from under the tank and sees that it has stopped. He can't see very clearly, but he can feel through his tremorsense that there are now 2 more large tanks nearby, and a large group of men are slowly making their way towards the tank that he is hiding under. He quickly slips back beneath ground level, unnoticed.

But where could Rhon be and what will Earl do now?

Not sensing the vibrations of Rhon within 60 feet of himself, Earl is going to scout the encampment. He will double move through the encampment until he is able to locate Rhon again.

As Earl moves slowly towards the camp, feeling the feet of an entire troop of soldiers above him, he wonders how he is going to distinguish Rhon from the rest of the footsteps he feels above him.

Tremorsense only gives you the positions and sizes of the people above you. You can't actually see through the stone unless you want to push your head out of the earth and risk being spotted.

If Earl is blindly wandering beneath ground level, what sort of patterns of tremors is he looking out for?

Earl will push his head up every time he feels tremors at the edge of his tremorsense range to look around for Rhon or any other party members.

I do wish there was a feat, class ability, or something that would allow for a bond between Rhon and Earl like normal paladins have.

With his tremorsense, Rhon has the ability and good sense to realise where the trenches are, and burrows right beneath them into the compound. After that however he has no idea where to head to, and sets off in a random direction hoping to find movement to investigate.

There might be some magic item for that. I do not use permanent pets so I can't be sure.

Earl:

Earl wanders into the compound unsure of where Rhon or the others are. Eventually he feels tremors. Lots of them. He tentatively pushes his head out from the ground and looks about. There are about a dozen canvas tents flapping in the wind around him and the ground is churned from heavy use. In the distance, he can see a group of six horsemen... but the horsemen are all headless! Worse still, it seems the Earl is not the only one with special senses, for as soon as he pokes his head above ground, the creatures immediately appear to turn their inexistant heads towards him!

Before Earl can react, two of the creatures spur their mounts towards him, charging him with their lances. Even with his improved cover from being mostly underground, he is struck by both of them! The other horsemen appear ready to attack as well, but Earl has a moment to respond first.

If Earl sticks around, I'll prepare a map for this fight. Earl has taken 38 damage.

I feel like we triggered a "disc 1 boss fight" in a severely depleted state and without realising what we were up against... and we're paying dearly for it...

Also, Rasputin appears to be at least caster level 15 and throwing out spells from the cleric spell list. I'm guessing he has some item or items that he uses for the project image, and that he's at least a level 15 oracle - I would be surprised if he was a cleric since he's not from Golarion.

If we can retreat with this information and without any perma-deaths, it's still a marginal win for our side?

Hmm... 42 seems a little on the squishy side. Maybe upgrade that ring of protection? You could do alot better than +1 at this level. Or maybe buy a pair of first-aid gloves to replace the one that Rhon used on you.

For your spells, I think we need more fireballs and aoe-type damage. We're pretty good for one-on-one fights, but we seem to suffer against groups, and if we're gonna be fighting troops, AoE will be very useful.

I think your AC is calculated wrong 42:

Looking at your magic items, you have the following AC bonuses:

+9 armor, +5 Dex, +2 Natural Armor, +1 Deflection, which should equal 27.

I would echo getting increasing your RoP or perhaps getting a belt of Dex and Con to boost your HP and Fort save as well. 5k would also get you a Dusty Rose Prism Ioun Stone, for another +1 to AC and CMD.

I guess it really depends on if you are looking to make yourself more tanky or see about getting additional capabilities.
