Ok, quick list of applications that I consider complete:
Saravyn D'Averam - NG elf wizard
Ihro Geoff - LN Dwarf Monk
Selis Mordwound - LN Human Oracle
Lecloront - N Human Ranger
Taldash Erdessar - LG Tiefling paladin/oracle
Dario Westone - CG Half-Elf Archaeologist Bard/Urban Ranger
Titania Evangeline Snowfell - NG Half-elf fighter/bard
Also we have the following characters, but I really can't consider 2 lines as a proper background guys...
Galwin
Doran Steelhand
Saul "Shore" Va'Nroth
I think I will close recruitment sometimes tomorrow. If you want to squeeze in a submission, do it in the next 24 hours or so.

I would love feedback on Ihro. I feel like his background is very shallow right now, and I'd love something to give me some inspiration
Good luck to all!
This a pre-published module, so your background won't come into play too much. Personality is really more important than background, but since personality is the result of your experiences, I think it's nice to see how a character came to be who he is.
The one advice I can give you is to root your BG in Golarion. Place the monastery on the map, give him a like or dislike for an organization/church. Tell me what brought him to Nidal looking for a job (or for his father).
This goes for anyone of course: actual personality traits over past history.
Where it as homebrew adventure I'd do my best to weave each backstory into the narrative, but I found out it's a bit too tasking to do in in a PbP.

Hikaru "One-Armed" Kuro
LN Fetchling Ninja 4
One-handed Dervish-Dancing combatant / skill monkey
Campaign Trait: Fetchling
But Hikaru's heritage would prove to haunt him. He was selected along with two other top students to join Kenji in a mission of great importance. The mission was revealed to be a trap by a rival clan, and Master Kenji was slain. Hikaru was distraught. But the other two students, jealous of Hikaru's heritage and success, still had their wits. They blamed him for the failure. Hikaru left the school in disgrace and traveled west to find new, better masters.
Hikaru thought he had found a better place in Nidal, a place with reverence for the Shadow Plane that was his ancestral home. He began to serve one of the aristocracy of that land, a member of the Umbral Court. Hikaru learned much about the art of pain, and his natural loyalty caused him to rationalize the increasingly dark and macabre orders of his master. But his sadistic master ultimately turned on him. When the master lost a valuable ritual sword, he accused Hikaru of the theft. Hikaru never knew what happened to that sword, but he knew full well the punishment. In a long and painful ritual, his "thieving" hand was mutilated and ultimately chopped off, leaving only a stump. His master saw fit to let him live in despair at his loss, believing him to be no threat.
Since then, Hikaru struggled hard to adapt to his situation. One hand now ends in a primitive metal hook, fashioned by a local blacksmith at great expense, and he has learned to fight, to climb, and to do many other things with his only good hand. With no clear destination in mind, he heads to Karpad in search of a Fetchling community that might welcome him, unlike the humans who have mostly brought him heartache. Yet he also yearns for any new master to take him on, so that he can prove that he is still a capable mercenary.

Ah sorry about that.
Background: Born to gutter scum Saul's formative years were spent surrounded by the filth of society. His mother was a junkie for opiates and he always had a new father every night. Eventually when he was old enough he attacked and killed one of his mothers rougher patrons and as punishment was given to the local convent of Iomedae. There he discovered his faith and purpose in life, to serve as the sheild for those who can't sheild themselves. Because of his up bringing Saul isn't as judgmental as others of his holy orders, knowing that some crimes are committed out of necessity and not evil.
Personality: Because of his past Saul is very much a champion of the poor, uncomfortable around nobility and wealth. While he doesn't condone thievery should he see a street rat getting beaten and harassed because he stole a loaf of bread, Saul will intervene and pay for the loaf himself.
He has a strong distaste for opulent nobility and those who flaunt there wealth while others around them starve.

Double sorry forgot appearance.
Physical Appearance: Well built with strong features Saul looks every part the knight in shinning armor, but underneath the steel and muscle lies a deeply scarred body. Gifts from his mother and his many Uncles'. His nickname Shore was given to him by one of his trainers, his sandy blond hair and ocean blue eyes reminded her of the ocean.

Ok, time has come to make a decision. Clearly this isn't going to get any easier if I procrastinate.
Thank you all very much for the submissions. There's definitely more than 5 interesting ones, so some good concepts will be left without a spot in this adventure. I'm sorry, but the module is taylored for 4-5 PCs, I can't bring more than 5 without bumping changing the CRs, and I'm afraid I can't do that.
The five PCs are:
Ihro
Saravyn
Taldash
Titania
Dario
Again, thanks to you all, hope to see you in another adventure.
PCs please report in the Discussion thread.
