Šeherzada keeps her voice low as she talks with Strom.

You're right about that, she says, trying to hide her irritation that she hadn't thought of that angle. Do you think it's one of the officers? Or just one of Scourge's lackeys?

Male Human Barbarian (Sea Reaver) / 1

Strom shrugs with a slight movement of his shoulder and follows the womans example by speaking in a whisper, "Could be, but I'm less and less convinced that everyone is our enemy, like I first thought when we all woke up in that room. Anyone you think we could trust, or get closer to trusting?" He looks around quickly, licking his lips as he continues, "Fishguts seems a likely candidate, and possibly the Quartermaster. She may have left the store room open, so we could retrieve our things."

M Human (Mwangi) Druid of Gozreh 1

It seems worth an attempt. Ms. Magic lady, can you use your magic to make them friendly? Mawimbi asks the quiet mage.

Male Human

"I dunno" says the little halfling, "using magic and take over someone's mind might be a bit provocative. Better to use mundane methods and speak to them directly, persuade them. I mean, there's nowt like a woman's revenge, whose mind has been clouded before a night of passion, only to wake up find her dignity ruined. Manys a sailor has bled to be redeemed before meeting Besmara. Best get hold of a betting book, I'm sure he'd have written the bets down, so's Scourge can get his winnings or reduce his loses."

Male Human Barbarian (Sea Reaver) / 1

Strom seems to brighten at this idea. "Maybe one of you sneakier folks and ask around about the bet and who's tracking it? Assuming such a book exists, could just be in some fellows head."

Male Human

Cecic goes up to the deck again, looking for the cabin girl again, Surely she would know from speaking with the captain and others what goes on?

You can see Šeherzada is trying to keep a smile off her face at the idea of being called 'Ms. Magic Lady'.

Sorry Mawimbi, I don't know any spells like that. I always found them difficult to grasp. And Cecic is right--the spells wear off after a while, and usually people figure out they've been had. On a ship like this one, you can't put decent distance between yourself and them before that happens.

Šeherzada turns to Strom.

So, what now? Do we sneak around and look for this betting book, that may or may not exist? What about just listening in to a few conversations?

Šeherzada looks at Strom expectantly.

Male Human

Cecic, not seeing the cabin girl, returns. His hair rough and messy, "Winds up" he says trying to smooth it down once more. "So Seherzada, rather than rely on magic to get some helpful information. We could try the good old fashioned way to get any sailor to look at life differently, a bottle of rum! Have we got anything like that we can use to loosen a few tongues? For by Besmara's hat, it's almost like holy water to thise that follow the pirate maid." he laughs.
