We are basically ready to wrap up here. Since I am heading on a business trip tomorrow I am going to send out chronicles today if the site stays up. Sessions have been recorded so please check.
I will continue to update the gameplay thread with details. It is just easier to handle paperwork before I leave. We can start part 2 when I get back.

GM Aarvid |

Did everyone get chronicle and check their session?
I am going to use this same thread for part two. Anyone level?

![]() |

Got it, even if the link you sent me was a little weird.
Making me jump through hoops for my chronicle sheet!
I did not level from this but I will have the opportunity to play in a PFS event on Feb 1st, so I may be level 2 then. Depending on when we start up again (and possibly if you will allow a couple days of leeway for the scenario introduction).
I may also very well rebuild the character from the ground up at that point. I have an idea for a swashbuckler/magus in mind that may need some fleshing out.

![]() |

Ready to go! No leveling. Can we make purchases now or must we wait? Not sure I need to buy anything but I thought I'd ask.

![]() |

Got my chronicle alright, thx.
GM Aarvid I need to ask you something because I got a dilemma going on. When are you planning on starting the next part of the series?
I ask because currently I have 2 PFS characters avaible (Morvius is one of them) and 3 games starting (this is one of them). I can roll a new character if necessary but I would rather try to give the credit to one of my old ones so they can level up.
Next week one or two of my characters should end their scenarios and become avaible (a cleric 3 or a fighter/rogue 2).

![]() |

August - You should always be able to make purchases after a scenario, even if the next one is just a continuation of the first.
GM - Holman didn't level, so I think he's just about ready to go.

GM Aarvid |

August you can buy now or at start of next round.
Morvius, I plan to start part 2 on this Friday once I am back home from my trip.

![]() |

OK, I'll take a look and see if I'd want to have An suggest August gets something. :)

Same here...I never know what to purchase...not enough to get magic arms and armor, but maybe some potions?? Also, to be honest, not exactly sure how to use the prestige..do I get an item up to the listed price for free, or do I still need to pay the gp for it....I can I use it as a discount for a more expensive item...like a magic weapon, for example...

Hawktitan |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |

No discounts.
You get a single item worth equal to or less than 750g for free. You can not 'resell' this item to get more gold.
Level 1 wands are the most common thing. It can be argued that everyone should get a wand of Cure Light Wounds to have on their person.
You can get potions, but only one therefore level 1 potions like 'enlarge person' you are probably better off getting with gold. A potion of Heroism or Fly or Gaseous Form seems pretty legit though (Gaseous From being a pretty good 'oh crap' button).
Scrolls - you can get a 'single' scroll with multiple copies of a single spell up to the price limit. So you could get a scroll with of 5 copies of Bull Strength for example, or say a scroll with two copies of Fireball. This wouldn't be for Nguyen, but you can keep it in mind for other characters.
Then of course there are weapons and armor. Getting Masterwork weapons and armor could save you some cash. Just be careful about enchanting them as you can not recoup gold by selling them. Notable weapons and armor that you can get (my opinion)
Mithril dagger - remember mithril counts as silver, and it's a good idea for any character to have a dagger - 500g
Masterwork Composite Longbow 3 str - 700g (might as well make it made out of darkwood too, 730g)
Non Masterwork Composite Longbow 6 str - 700g (Again, make it darkwood)
Masterwork Agile Breastplate - 550g
Masterwork Half-plate - 750g
Hawk Lifebringer's (my Oracle whom you previously adventured with) purchases have been -
Masterwork Darkwood Longspear
Masterwork Agile Breastplate
Temple (allows Heal check as dayjob and minor other benefits)
Wand of Cure Light Wounds (so far unused)
His first 'big' purchase with gold was a +1 Cloak of Resistance, which he was only able to afford due to his being fairly well equipped through Prestidge Points.
+4 on any one skill check 1 PP
Dispel magic 1 PP
Lesser restoration 1 PP
Make whole 1 PP
Remove blindness/deafness 1 PP
Remove curse 1 PP
Remove disease 1 PP
Remove paralysis 1 PP
Free purchase up to 150 gp 1 PP
Atonement 2 PP (8 PP to restore cleric/druid/inquisitor/paladin powers)
Break enchantment 2 PP
Greater dispel magic 2 PP
Heal 2 PP
Neutralize poison 2 PP
Restoration 2 PP (4 PP to remove a permanent negative level)
Free purchase up to 750 gp 2 PP
Regenerate 3 PP
Have your body recovered by 5 PP a rescue team
Raise dead 16 PP
Greater restoration 16 PP
Resurrection 32 PP
True resurrection 77 PP

Ok I am going to assume everyone is ready to continue. Let me know if anyone needs to bow out or is not ready. I think we will still be low tier 1—2 unless several people leveled.

GM Aarvid |

Are you doing ok Jacen? Hopefully all is well after the ER visit.
I know with the black ice we have here...I slipped and fell in the parking lot coming out of work last night (even walking carefully). The Emergency rooms are hopping with business. Supposed to get worse tomorrow.

GM Aarvid |

Since this is an old scenario, I am generally ignoring old faction missions (especially since they are not needed and I do not send out the faction mission sheets at the start). I will include for RP flavor if you like. Otherwise, feel free to ignore. I will mention if counts towards primary mission or not.

![]() |

OK, sounds good. I couldn't see where the Xs meant anything before but wanted to be sure.

![]() |

I'm at OwlCon this weekend but I'll try to post when I get a chance.

GM Aarvid |

We are getting close to the end on this one. Feel free to send day job rolls and slow/fast track. I will assume fast unless I hear otherwise.
Next question, with Pbp gameday 2 coming up. We have a few options.
1- start part 3 with this group as soon as we finish part 2. That will probably be before pbp2 starts but we would not finish until after pbp2 starts.
2- wait and start part 3 as part of pbp2. Gives chance for boons etc.
3- everyone takes a break and goes play something else for pbp2 and then come back.
4-party divides and goes separate ways.
I am fine with any. Sadly, this old mod was not as much of a challenge for your party of 6 since was meant for 4. Having a few more people up to 2nd or 3rd could help push into the 3-4 bracket for better experience.
Let me know. I am good with anything. Just trying to plan ahead. Not sure if I will run something else besides this for pbp2. Depends on my work schedule and my RotRL mod.

![]() |

I'm happy with either 1 or 2. We can just keep going or wait for the PbP Game Day, doesn't matter. I do not like 3 or 4 as options though.
PFS # 79644-4
Faction : Grand Lodge
Profession (Soldier) Day Job: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23

![]() |

I am good with 1 but prefer 2. Since you mentioned trying to push into the 3-4 bracket for better experience allow me to suggest a 5th option. We wait for the 2nd PbP Gameday and play something else for it with this party. When we are done we go back and do part 3 of this one.
From what I understood from reading the event's page the DMs that sign up games for it are awarded the scenarios from paizo for free. So you could actually sign a scenario to DM that you dont have and paizo will give it to you. We just have to find something that noone of us have played yet. Season 5 is a good bet.
PS: No day job yet for Morvius.

Hawktitan |

This will level Kath. While I have some serious sitting down to do and thinking about the direction I want to take him, I can easily have that figured out by the time we start the next mod.
Additionally I have my oracle at level 3, and he's currently in a PbP but I hope the one he is in will be finished by game day - However that particular game is currently moving at a snails pace. If it's NOT done by game day I may consider pulling him anyway....

![]() |

FTR, August will be 2.2 after Part 2. If we need to be level 3 when we start Part 3 then we would need a filler scenario first. Unfortunately I've played just about all of the season 5 stuff for low levels.
EDIT : Wow, I didn't realize how many 1-5 scenarios I've played now. I don't think I have anything from season 3 on.

![]() |

Unfortunately I've played just about all of the season 5 stuff for low levels.
I don't think I have anything from season 3 on
I hope I'm not the only one confused by these two statements :) An, slap some sense into August!

![]() |

Just throwing some ideas out there...
By looking at season 5 I could play The Confirmation, The Glass river rescue and A Bitter Bargain. From this three, Bitter bargain looks more promissing since its a series, we could alternate between it and Devil you Know for a felling that stuff happened between last time our characters investigated said subject...
We could also try a module, Fangwood Keep is supposed to be good.
Or I could pray to Iomedae and play up Morvius in something tier 3
:P
Heard interesting things about all of these: The Wardstone Patrol, The Traitors Lodge, The Midnight Mirror.

![]() |

I could play A Bitter Bargain. I had signed up to play it with another DM for PbPGD but if needed I be happy to back out of that one and play here with August instead. Otherwise I'd have to play something pre-Season 3 or a module.
If we do a mod I'm already in Fangwood Keep, plus August isn't high enough yet anyway. I have not yet played The Accursed Halls with a 2nd level character though.

GM Aarvid |

I am open to running anything (part 3 or something new - free is nice). See if you can come to an agreement and let me know. We have some time yet.

GM Aarvid |

Any additional thoughts on what to play next? If no suggestions, I will order and prep DWK-Part 3 to start April 5th as part of GD2.

![]() |

Is this room the last encounter or is there more? Though I have to admit that playing all four parts of the DWK series in consecutive order does seem pretty cool I wouldn't mind playing something in between, especially if you can get something for free.

GM Aarvid |

This is close to the end. So we will finish soon. I will not start something before GD2 since I will be on vacation next week. I would order something and read-through it prior to starting. Getting it for free is nice too.
There is a slim chance we could get both parts 3 and 4 done in time for GD2 but we would have to fit them into 6 weeks each (not impossible).

![]() |

![]() |

I have not played any of the modules as a 2nd level character yet so I can do that. I've played Thornkeep a number of times with a 1st level one and I will be playing Godsmouth in PbPGD. I'm already in a DD game. Murders Mark I've never played.

![]() |

Let's just say I got carried away with PbP. Throw in 3 cons and some Roll20 games along with the local shop and yeah, I've burned thru some stuff. No wonder I've been trying to play The Confirmation and anything else repeatable lately.
Murders Mark would be just fine if we go that way.
