Rysalius Starnon |
Rysalius stops singing but the song is still considered active for another two rounds thanks to Lingering Performance - don't forget it in your rolls!
Then the Chelish opera singer starts another song, a devastating aria aimed at the creature reaching for the depths.
Devastating Aria: 1d4 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5 divided by two since it's a creature = 2 damage. 3rd round of performance used for today.
Rysalius finally moves back a little, closer to the shore.
Swim: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18
GM Aarvid |
The water elemental chases down the fleeing fey and batters it once more. Even though this takes place underwater, you suspect something happened, as Ingra surfaces, gasping for air and wondering what in blazes she is doing in the lake.
*** end combat***
Rysalius Starnon |
It seems you were under some kind of spell, drawn to a watery doom. says the opera singer as he helps Ingra out of the water. I don't know what kind of creature that was, but it was obviously attempting to feast on your flesh.
Rysalius then turns around, looking for their gnome escort.
GM Aarvid |
The tiny dragon comes out of hiding and looks around...
"Is it safe? The creature in the lake was called a Kelpie...and they like to trick people into drowning. However, they do not create undead. Very strange. The source of the undead must have killed my Pegasus friends. I am very sad as they loved to fly with me. Let us keep moving. "
Pai Song |
If this kelpie is here normally and does the same as always, there must be another force at work really. While we already know that, i don´t know what i find more scary. By the way, someone has holy water with him? Or some other holy means of fighting undead? And what do we actually know about the source of the undead?
My PFS Lavode De'Morcaine |
To Pai Song, I don't usually carry any holy water. I have other methods to damage undead that normally suffice.
Bloodline heavenly fire, burning hands spell, or if all else fails touch attack with wand of CLW.
To Ingra, How badly are you injured?
To Riddy Whipple, Just let us see to the health of our friend and we will be right with you.
My PFS Lavode De'Morcaine |
Lavode uses heavenly fire
heavenly fire healing: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
and his wand of CLW twice on Ingra.
wand CLW first: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
wand CLW second: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
You are full.
Let us follow Riddy Whipple's suggestion and move on to the core of the problem.
GM Aarvid |
Riddywipple’s response at seeing his longtime friends corrupted by the touch of undeath is remarkable. the small dragon goes from his flighty self to sorry to almost rage.
"The Pegasus was my friend...they have no right to take him from me! They have no right and must be destroyed!!! Forever!"
You find a set of erratic hoofprints leading on ahead, with a smaller set of prints in some of the muddier areas. Riddywipple says...
"One more of my pegasus friends is missing, and I bet the enemy might have tossed the captured Pathfinder gnome on the undead horse and led it back to their lair. "
Rysalius Starnon |
Then we must rescue them as soon as possible. Onwards, companions!
Kuraishimo |
Kuraishimo bows gently and says a quick prayer over the fallen Pegasus before falling in line with the rest of the party.
GM Aarvid |
As you pass by a stream near the expected destination,
you spot the remaining Pegasus on the other side of the steam amid a ring of stones.
Perception from everyone
Ingra: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12
Kuraishimo: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Lavode: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 1 = 13
Pai Song: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27
Rysalius: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 1 = 11
UP: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 1 = 14
PG: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Rysalius Starnon |
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24
GM Aarvid |
Like before, you see another Pegasus take to the air from the far side of the stream, heading your direction.

Rysalius Starnon |
How do you cast shield on yourself? I have the wand.
Kuraishimo |
How long has it been since our last encounter?
Assuming Ingra doesn't wander too far off Kuraishimo will begin casting Enlarge Person on Ingra.
"I suggest you not try wandering into the lake again Ingra."
Ingra Mennisdottir |
A smile creeps across Ingra's face
I will try not to, at least this stream doesn't seem that deep
She readies her Longhammer, but also puts her other two hammers either side of her belt
Riddywhipple, is this one of your friends in good health?
GM Aarvid |
It has been two hours since the lake encounter .
This Pegasus looks very similar to the last one, except the wounds look a bit fresher. It flies at 20' and is still on the far side of the stream when Pai casts shield on herself.
The winged horse swoops in your direction, ending about 30' away and 15' up...over the stream.
Rysalius Starnon |
Rysalius starts singing an aria inspire courage +1 and draws his longsword.
GM Aarvid |
Lavode calls down a blessing upon the party.
Ingra readies her hammer against the flying beast.
Rysalius begins singing an inspiring song.
Kuraishimo will begin casting another Enlarge Person on Ingra.
You all get an ominous feeling that things will not go well for you this time.
For any d20 you roll, provide 2 rolls and take the lowest result

GM Aarvid |
27-Pai Song delays, shield active, waiting for the creature to act.
14-The Pegasus dives at Ingra, who is ready for it as it closes within reach.
"Heeehaaaaawwwwwww!'
Ingra, AoO and readied attacks, swing twice each, take lowest result. Do not forget to add bard's song etc
partial charge, higher, slam: 1d20 + 8 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 8 + 2 + 1 = 18 for 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
The clumsy horse barely misses the dwarf with its attack.
Ingra Mennisdottir |
Power attack1: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (16) + 9 = 25
Power attack2: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (16) + 9 = 25
Damage: 2d6 + 12 ⇒ (2, 5) + 12 = 19
Ingra seems unphased by the ominous feeling, and landsa blow on the side of the pegasus's chest, hammer whistling through the air.
Rysalius Starnon |
Rysalius keeps on singing, then moves next to Ingra while drawing his sword, and lets his whistling blade bury into the flea-infested flesh.
Power Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 251d8 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15
Kuraishimo |
After Kuraishimo's enlarge person on Ingra finishes he will step closer to the water and fire disrupt undead at the pegasus.
Touch Attack: 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 4 + 1 = 18
Touch Attack: 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 4 + 1 = 25
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
GM Aarvid |
Ingra swings at the approaching horse and ignores luck and slams the hammer head onto the beast. The blow seems to be partially deflected.
Lavode starts to cast another long spell.
Rysalius Power attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19 sees his blade take a wobbling path but is still enough to slash into the creature for full effect.
Ingra and Rysalius feel a strange ringing noise from their respective weapons as they start to vibrate...but then the ringing stops with no apparent affect.

=== round 3 ===
Lavode finishes his spell and wispy cloud appears behind the dead creature and charges to slam into it.
Small augmented air elemental. I don't know if a whirlwind from a small elemental could affect a Pegasus sized creature so I will just have it slam attack for now. I will assume it also has to roll twice and pick the worse.
slam first roll: 1d20 + 8 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 8 + 2 = 13
slam second roll: 1d20 + 8 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 8 + 2 = 28
If the worse hits damage: 1d4 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Then Lavode sends another minor magic at the flying opponent.
Lúh horieť pre vás! Acid splash
ranged touch first roll: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
ranged touch second roll: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13
If the worse hits damage: 1d3 ⇒ 1
GM Aarvid |
Between the acid and hammer hits, the horse zombie falls to the ground in pieces.
You hear several high pitched voices from the bushes around you.
"Oh phooey!"
5d20 ⇒ (18, 8, 3, 5, 18) = 52
Pai song and Rysalius spot some tiny creatures hiding in the bushes.
Your dragon friend appears and screeches...
"Gremlins? I knew it! "
GM Aarvid |
=== round 4 ===
14+Ingra
13-Lavode + air elem
11-Rysalius (sing and slash)
7-Kurishima
27-Pai Song
6-Gremlins
Rysalius Starnon |
Are we still in combat? Anyway I'll stop singing, but the effects of the song will linger for two extra rounds.
Addressing the dragon: What to expect from them? Can you deal with those gremlins in a diplomatic manner?
Then addressing the gremlins:Come out of there, we promise we won't harm you.
Bluff: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (12) + 10 = 22
GM Aarvid |
Yes, still in combat of sorts...
Rysalius stops singing but his attempt to parley is met with high pitched laughter...
"You are no fun. You killed our horsey...or unkilled it...hahahaha! C'mon Kix and Nix, we are outta here!"
There is some rustling in a couple of the bushes.
GM Aarvid |
Rysalius, you will need another bluff check as your luck seems to hang on a thread with these voices.
Ingra Mennisdottir |
Ingra follows the sound of the rustles and puts a big boot infront of the sound, and her big hammer behind them.
Where do you think your going? We are not done talking yet. Anyone that does that to the forest creatures has some answering to do in my books.
