GM Aarvid |
Rysalius is almost terrorized by the small creature, but drops his song to regain his composure (is only shaken 1 round)
Kuraishimo also resists the spell of the creature (shaken 1 round)
Ingra is not so lucky and is frightened of the small creature. The dwarf turns and runs back to the cave entrance at top speed.
Pai Song readies to hurl a snowball at the creature if it starts casting (or before she goes again).
GM Aarvid |
The last furry creature charges (partial) Kuraishimo.
Kuraishimo can take an AoO if his 10' reach threatens. Otherwise, Lavode's readied action goes off knocking the creature prone.
Rysalius is up (the last furry creature is either prone or dead).
GM Aarvid |
Ok, Kuraishimo, I suspected that might be the case. Nonetheless, Lavode still knocks it prone near you. The creature attacks from prone (-4). I will use the roll and damage from before since that did not reach you due to your reach. So you do not have any damage from your touch attack. So only 5 quills and 10 damage.
My PFS Lavode De'Morcaine |
I typed out a whole description for casting a spell this PC doesn't have. Just barely caught it before I hit send.
Lavode moves a bit forward and sends a burst of arcane energy at the creature that was yelling at us.
Iskru lesk !
Glitterdust, -40 to stealth, will save DC=18 or blinded until save (or 5 rounds).
GM Aarvid |
Ok, to make sure Lavode...you do not have the tremor? So your readied action is now this glitter dust? (If so the furry is not prone) Or you do have it? If you have tremor, then your readied went off and your place in the initiative order changed to right before the critter (which you knocked prone with tremor).
GM Aarvid |
We need Rysalius's action, then we are at the top of the round with Pai's Readied action.
Summarizing the next round init order - unless Lavode says otherwise.
==== Round 3 ======
+1 Inspire active (2 rounds)
22+Pai Song (Readied casting)
22-Caster
19-Ingra (Frightened-fleeing, Large, Tunnel fighter)
12+Lavode
12-Critter (1 remaining, Prone)
8-Kuraishimo (5 quills, shaken)
5-Rysalius (shaken)
Rysalius Starnon |
Rysalius moves towards Ingra and casts Unbreakable Heart on his dwarven friend to suppress her fear. It lasts four rounds, after that the fear resumes, if it lasts longer than 4 rounds.
Rysalius Starnon |
Ingra, technically you became frightened (22 init), fled (19 init), then had your fear suppressed (9 init). So yes, I think you'll probably need to run back this round.
GM Aarvid |
Thanks Lavode. So the init order above is correct. And yes, Ingra can move back this turn(or take any other action) so long as her fear is suppressed. After that, it is off to the races again.
Pai Song is tired of waiting and hurls a snowball into the cave at the casting creature. However, the snowball sails over the creatures head.
Not liking the size of the approaching group, she steps forward and launches a pair of quills at Pai Song's lizard.
quill: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (7) + 14 = 21 for dmg: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3 plus DC18 fort poison
quill: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (3) + 14 = 17 for dmg: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5 plus DC18 fort poison
"Get back I say and I will make your deaths quick!"
Ingra can return from her running.
Lavode casts glitter dust on the small person.
will: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17 and she begins to glow and lets out a shriek
"Curse you fools!" and her arms come forward flailing about.
The prone creature attacks Kuraishimo.
slam: 1d20 + 6 - 4 ⇒ (9) + 6 - 4 = 11 for dmg: 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7 but misses. Kuraishimo has the 5 quills dig deeper into his flesh from last turn.
8-Kuraishimo (5 quills, shaken)
5-Rysalius (shaken)
My PFS Lavode De'Morcaine |
Round 4 action on my initiative turn. If the caster is still in front of me.
Lavode uses more hindering magic on the whosit.
Padajú vám neohrabane blázna!
Grease centered under her, DC=17 will save or fall prone.
Rysalius Starnon |
GM Aarvid, the fear is suppressed for four rounds, not just one.
Rysalius tightens his grip on the handle of his longsword with both hands, trying to find a measure of courage and wading into the fight again. He moves back and slashes at the prone creature.
Die, your fiendish minion! The verses of History will not recall your name!
Inspire Courage +1, Prone target +2, Shaken -2... did I forget anything? Or has the shaken condition ended, since I already spent last round shaken? Feel free to modify the roll below accordingly.
Attack (power attack, arcane strike): 1d20 + 6 + 1 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (9) + 6 + 1 + 2 - 2 = 161d8 + 8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 8 + 1 = 17
Pai Song |
Pai Song urges the lizard to go there and eat her.
Lizard has mage armor too, so his AC is 22. No hits i guess.
Handle Animal: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15 DC 10 move action
Byte: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (14) + 9 = 232d6 + 5 ⇒ (3, 6) + 5 = 14
Pai Song then casts another Snowball.
Snowball touch attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 193d6 + 1 ⇒ (5, 4, 1) + 1 = 11 DC 16 fortitude or staggered 1 round.
Kuraishimo |
"uhh... these quills are still digging... anybody know what to do?"
Kuraishimo, shaken and quilled will step back and begin the activation on his wand of infernal healing.
GM Aarvid |
Kuraishimo pulls out his wand to try to cure the wounds from the quills digging into his body.
@Rysalius - yes, I worded my response poorly. Ingra can come back this round and has the remaining rounds of fear suppression to do what she pleases.
Rysalius moves up and hacks down on the prone critter trying to end its undead misery. He cuts the thing in two, carefully avoiding quills digging into his sword arm as he completes the swing.
==== Round 4 ======
+1 Inspire active (1 rounds)
22+Pai Song
22-Caster (Blind)
19-Ingra (Large, Tunnel fighter)
12+Lavode
8-Kuraishimo (5 quills)
5-Rysalius
GM Aarvid |
Pai Song successfully urges the large lizard up to the small creature. It bytes (lol) down brutally on the creature with its sharp teeth. However, it receives dmg: 1d3 ⇒ 3 from quills jammed into its mouth.
fort: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (12) + 11 = 23 vs DC18
It fortunately avoids the effects of poison on the barbs.
Pai Song then hurls another snowball at the blinded creature. She almost misses while trying to avoid hitting the frilled lizard's thrashing head. But the snow strikes the small creature.
fort: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10
-25
The creature appears to be staggered as it lashes out with one claw blindly at the large lizard.
"Doubly curse you and the lizard you rode in on!"
claw: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (3) + 14 = 17 for dmg: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4 miss: 1d100 ⇒ 38
will: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 10 = 18
Its small claw misses the lizard...but her vision appears to have returned.
"Ah there you are! Now I will have my revenge!"
Kuraishimo |
I am currently at max hp because of false life, I don't know if the Infernal healing will do anything about the quills or not.
Kuraishimo, in obvious pain from all the quills will activate his Sorcerer's Robe and fire a magic missile at the figure in the back.
Damage: 2d4 + 2 ⇒ (4, 4) + 2 = 10 & Fort Save DC 18 or be Dazed for 1/round
GM Aarvid |
Lavode casts a spell causing a puddle of slippery grease to appear under the caster.
refl: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (12) + 10 = 22
However, the creature manages to keep her footing.
A moment later, Kuraishimo unleashes a volley of bolts of magical force at the creature, striking her and she emits a shriek in pain but glares back at the sorcerer with malice burning in her small eyes.
fort: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24
-35
Rysalius Starnon |
Emboldened by his victorious slash, the Chelish singer continues his progression towards the heart of darkness, only stopping when he meets his final opponent. With a grin, he slashes at her, hoping to put an end to this madness.
This is your cue, now is the time for you to exit the stage. Farewell.
Power Attack, Arcane Strike, both hands: 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 6 + 1 = 121d8 + 8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 8 + 1 = 14
GM Aarvid |
Rysalius moves up and slashes at the caster, but she deftly avoids his blade.
Ingra (I am assuming) strides up past her companions and moves within reach of the creature before swinging her large hammer.
I will let Ingra roll the attack since I lost track of all the mods and penalties at this point
==== Round 5 ======
22+Pai Song
22-Caster (glowing)
19-Ingra (Large, Tunnel fighter , 2 rounds suppression remain)
12+Lavode
8-Kuraishimo (5 quills)
5-Rysalius
Kuraishimo |
Still in pain Kuraishimo activates his robe again and launches one last magic missile before retreating around the corner.
Damage: 2d4 + 2 ⇒ (2, 2) + 2 = 6 & Fort Save DC 18 or be Dazed for 1/round
GM Aarvid |
Kuraishimo, not sure if this is clear, but you are not taking damage each round. The quills are slowly digging deeper and look like they will be painful to pull out. The damage occurs slowly (1min) intervals.
Kuraishimo |
Yup, thanks. Kuraishimo doesn't know the mechanics and is pretty freaked out though.
Ingra Mennisdottir |
sry for the delay, spring cleaning and my moms bday. Can we make it so Ingra charges her? If not just minus 2 on attack
Power Attack: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (3) + 11 = 14
Damage: 3d6 + 15 ⇒ (1, 3, 5) + 15 = 24
Die you fowl thing, Die!
My PFS Lavode De'Morcaine |
Lavode, running low on arcane might, moves a bit closer and throws a simple damaging cantrip at the creature.
Moves to within 35 ft with a clear line of attack. (I can't see the map at work.) Touch attack with a -4 for firing into melee.
acid splash touch attack: 1d20 + 3 - 4 ⇒ (11) + 3 - 4 = 10, if hit acid splash damage: 1d3 ⇒ 2
GM Aarvid |
Ingra's hammer swings a mighty arc over the creature's head but does not connect.
Pai Song and the lizard are thinking about their next action as the small porcu-creature glares at you all, ready to defend her stronghold to your deaths if necessary.
GM Aarvid |
Still waiting on Pai Song. Since this is the last day and we wrap up tomorrow, I will give until midnight (ET) and then will delay unless another action is given.
GM Aarvid |
From last round, Ingra's swing missed. Just catching up so I do not forget.
Pai is reluctant to have the lizard bite the creature with the quills again and waits for another option.
The porcupine creature steps away from the attackers and unleashes a pair of deadly quills at the two large creatures approaching her.
@Lizard quill: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (3) + 14 = 17 for dmg: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5 plus fort vs poison
@Ingra quill: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (4) + 14 = 18 for dmg: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5 plus fort vs poison
The first quill misses the lizard by a fraction of an inch. The second manages to hit the large sized Ingra. (6 dmg plus need a fort save vs poison).
Ingra is up (need save and action)...
Lavode moves up and tries to hit the creature with splash of magical acid, but she easily dodges the chemical glob.
She is not able to avoid the magical force missiles that Kuraishimo sends her way, and she yelps in pain as they hit.
fort: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10 vs daze
The small creature stops suddenly staring straight ahead as if confused.
-41
Everyone can go before she can move again...
My PFS Lavode De'Morcaine |
Round 6 Action, if still visible and a threat.
Since he can't seem to hit it with a splatter of arcane acid, Lavode decides to try his other method of knocking it down.
tremor: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23, if that beats the creatures CMD it is prone.
Rysalius Starnon |
Rysalius moves around the greasy spot and slashes at the beast with his longsword:
Power Attack, Arcane Strike, Two-handed: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 191d8 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10
Additional +2 to hit if prone from Lavode's tremor
Kuraishimo |
Kuraishimo shouts "Vile fiend!
Intimidate to demoralize. Intimidate: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (11) + 15 = 26
Ingra Mennisdottir |
Ingra mentally ignores the quils, as she is using her rage for this undead menace to fuel her attack
Fort Save: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
Power Attack: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (1) + 11 = 12
Damage: 3d6 + 15 ⇒ (2, 1, 1) + 15 = 19
Aahhhggg!
GM Aarvid |
Ingra feels the full effects of the powerful poison flowing through her veins. 1d3 ⇒ 3 Constitution damage. (DC16, 2 saves to cure).
Ignoring the horrible pain for the moment, Ingra steps up and takes another swing at the creature, but her hammer slams into the cave pillar instead, sending a shower of rocks and dust into the greasy splotch.
FYI - At this point Ingra has one more round of fear suppression before she takes off running again...full of poison.
Lavode calls forth the shaking of the ground which causes the furry creature to wobble, but she keeps her footing.
Kuraishimo moves within 30' and shouts at the small caster. She appears to be shaken by his brutality.
"Oh no!"
Rysalius swings at Marigana but misses with his blade by a fraction of an inch. (btw being prone is +4 on the attack, not that it mattered this time, but for future reference).
GM Aarvid |
==== Round 6 ======
22-Caster (shaken, stunned, glowing)
22+Pai Song
19-Ingra (Large, Tunnel fighter , poisoned, last round of fear suppression)
12+Lavode
8-Kuraishimo (5 quills)
5-Rysalius
GM Aarvid |
(you all go again since she misses her action. This would be a good time to take her out. :-)
Pai Song |
Pai Song will just do the same as before, urge the lizard to attack and cast a spell herself. The Lizard should attack untill called off, so no new handle animal roll.
Bite: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 242d6 + 5 ⇒ (6, 1) + 5 = 12
Tail: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 191d8 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Snowball Touch Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 73d6 ⇒ (4, 2, 4) = 10
Also unknown status of bardic music support. If yes, add it everywhere.
Pai Song would have done the same in the round before if you allow.
Bite: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (18) + 9 = 272d6 + 5 ⇒ (2, 1) + 5 = 8
Tail: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 191d8 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
Snowball Touch Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 223d6 ⇒ (4, 5, 5) = 14
GM Aarvid |
Bardic music is done. Also, I did not want to presume attacking since it was possible you or the lizard could die in the process. If you are ok with it, I will retcon the actions and bring you out of delay.
(so going back to round 5)
The large lizard bites down on the creature again, chomping a clump of hair and quills. The tail attack misses the creature.
-53
quill dmg: 1d3 ⇒ 3 and Poison
fort: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (12) + 11 = 23
The lizard avoids the effects of the poison again as it tries to shake the vile quills from its mouth.
Simultaneously, Pai starts to cast a spell and provokes an attack from the furry creature.
claw AOO: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (15) + 14 = 29 for dmg: 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6 and Poison
However, Pai hurls the snowball over the creature's head.
Will need a Fort Save vs Poison
The creature stepped away from Pai and the Lizard, so to reach her this round, the lizard would have to go around the rock column or through the greased area...just let me know which path you take.
GM Aarvid |
Actually, unless there are any objections, I will take Pai Song's second snowball now that she is throwing from a safe distance at a dazed target.
Pai Song, fighting off the quilled attack launches another of the snowballs, this time hitting the creature squarely in the head, it knocks the creature out cold.
There are no remaining combatants, but at least one of you is still suffering from the effects of poison (Ingra) and lingering spell effects.
19-Ingra (Large, Tunnel fighter , poisoned, last round of fear suppression)
12+Lavode
8-Kuraishimo (5 quills)
5-Rysalius
GM Aarvid |
Lavode, looking into the northern part of the cave, sees the Faerie Dragon fly off deeper into the cave.
"Hurry, everyone, I have found Dijjit, Ignizi’s assistant, in a small chamber."
Lavode can see the orange-haired gnome’s unconscious body is riddled with pukwudgie quills
"We must save her or she will quickly become a zombie like the others
unless she is cured of the poison."
Kuraishimo |
Kuraishimo will rush forward with one of the neutralize poison potions and feed it to the assistant.
Rysalius Starnon |
Rysalius casts Unbreakable Heart again on Ingra to avoid her flight for now, and buy time to heal her before she runs away. He also tries to reassure her:
Shhh, it's over now. The creature's dead, and this madness is over. Stay with us, friend Ingra.
My PFS Lavode De'Morcaine |
Lavode sends some healing warmth to the kid and then to Ingra.
Heavenly Fire 30' range, heals 1d4+2 if good aligned, nothing if neutral, damage if evil.
heavenly fire, kid: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
heavenly fire, Ingra: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Is anyone else with a good alignment hurt? Anyone needing a wand of CLW poke?
GM Aarvid |
Ingra you basically need to make 2 consecutive fort saves or take con damage every round. So pile on the potions or cures or you will die and turn into a zombie.
Ingra takes 1d3 ⇒ 2 more con damage. Fort save drops accordingly.
So she is down 5 con at this point.
Pai still needs to make her saves. Remember the potions etc.
Pai Song |
Fort Save: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
I got a strange feeling. Seems this thing was poisonous? But how can a poison let you become undead?
GM Aarvid |
(In other words, Ingra is in serious condition, and the quills are the least of her worries)
s 1d3 ⇒ 3 con damage to Pai Song. Boost those saves or neutralize quickly.
