The party gathers up what they can and move to leave - but alas, it appears their actions have not gone unnoticed. You see a dwarf (green), a half-orc (blue), and a halfling (red) as you leave the secret passage and their eyes are decidedly on you.

"Well, well!" says the halfling, perhaps a bit too cheerfully. "Looks like that diviner was worth the gold!" Addressing whoever is in front, he adds, "We'll be taking those papers now, then." Behind him, the dwarf and the half-orc grip their weapons, each with a grin in place, the orc's nasty and the dwarf's thin.

"Don't bother with trying to play nice," the halfling says, voice still cheery. "We're happy to kill you for the papers, too - just thought askin' would be quicker!"

According to page 202 of the Core Rulebook, missed splash damage starts with the 1 being between the thrower and the throwee, so it would actually be in the square directly west of blue and would splash all of 'em. c:

"Well, if you'd rather the hard way," the halfling shrugs. He reaches into his pocket and draws out a tanglefoot bag, stepping forward and throwing it at Ystrizz's feet. Unfortunately for him, it doesn't burst open to engulf the Tengu the way he'd been hoping. The dwarf, though, scowls at Ystrizz before touching himself with a slightly glowing hand. He advances, but in an obvious attempt to keep from getting blasted by another bomb. The half-orc pauses only to consider her victim. Laughing cruelly, she points at Effie.

You'd be correct!

The half-orc goes down with a stifled cry, her determination having been less of a push through her enemies and a final shove towards her own failure.

As the party gathers themselves, Eylysia's cache, and leaves, they encounter several locals discussing the rather botched attempt at the Trial of the Starstone they'd just witnessed. A bit of listening reveals that Sir Reinhart had apparently tried to get past the chasm on horseback and had instead fallen, with his horse, into oblivion instead.

Once you get back to Drandle Dreng, he takes a moment to smile and thank each of your for the successful investigation. "You may yet complete some of the more fantastic tasks of the world, eh?" He chuckles, stroking his chin, before adding, "Those of you who've had your Confirmation, you can expect to receive further assignments soon. Those of you who've yet to do it, well. I'll speak with Shaine and see about speeding the process up a bit." He looks at you, his pleased aura basically radiating glee. "I look forward to seeing what you do with the Society," he says, finally.
