You realize of course that Drago has now aquired a taste for human blood as well. So you're doubly boned. Lol.

Actually, that was from The Warriors originally. But yes, Archer is awesome. I mean the guy is an egotiscacle, selfish, idiot, but the man's got mad skills. Plus it vibrates.

Cutting down the bodies, you find four half-eaten goblins, a dead human with 12 gold pieces, 34 silver pieces, studded leather armor and a longsword, and a dead elf adventurer with leather armor, two daggers, a vial of antitoxin, masterwork thieves' tools, and a potion of reduce person. Nicatha takes the scroll tube from Ylrhea and finds that within is a scroll of identify.

Was the alchemical silver masterwork dagger magical?

No, the aura was from the scroll tube.

"Yhlrea, please lead us onwards." Nicatha request after they had collected the treasure.

The gnome nods and checks the door at the end of the great hall.

Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (15) + 10 = 25

The wooden door is unlocked and leads to set of spiral stairs that lead upwards.

"There's still a couple of doors down here. Do we want to check those or go on up?" the gnome asks.

Mortimus nods from his new awkwardly high vantage point.

"Yes. We should make sure this floor is secure before we explore upstairs."

Passing down the hallway to the last two doors, you see that one is smashed, lying on the floor. Beyond you can see stairs leading down. The other door leads to another personal room, which is empty.

Nicatha follows the more experienced adventurers to the last closed door on this hall.

Ylrhea searches the quarters.

GM Rolls:
1d20 ⇒ 10

Ylrhea turns up another vial of antitoxin, hidden in the room.

"Upstairs or downstairs, Ylrhea?"

Ylrhea notices nothing interesting about the door, but notices crude circular symbols painted on the walls in blood. The gnome also finds a multitude of small tracks in the passageway.

"The goblins are coming from downstairs," she says, attempting to sound wise. "Maybe we should go up first."

Mortimus studies the symbols. "What does it mean?"

"Up then", the disfigured priest confirms. "If the goblins come up after us, they will die."

Nicatha detects nothing magical in the area.

Drago followed silently, keeping his eyes off Nicatha as much as possible. This is becoming unbearable. I'm going to have to find a way to take my mind off of her.

GM Henry:
Any chance I can get a flute or something?

Drago:
A flute?

The difference between Nicatha and I is that I would be putting some wriggle in my step to torment you. She on the other hand is ignoring both of your lusts partly because she is convinced most of your problem is self created.

He wants to eat you, not have a roll in the hay :P

I'm not so certain that those are divorced in his mind.

GM Henry:
Yes a flute. Or any wood wind instrument really. To help clear his mind.

Well honestly, it's probably about 90% hunger, 5% lust, and 5% of whatever the hells else is in his emotional cauldron. I mean after all, biting in her neck is a pretty intimate way to kill someone.

Drago:
For some reason, my mind went to Willy Wonka and Oompah Loompahs.

Ascending the stairs, you come to another door, this one unlocked as well. Leaving the stairwell, you are faced with three more doors.

Refer to sheet 2 on the map

Ylrhea opens the door and looks inside.

What was once an opulent bedchamber is now a shattered wreck. Dust lies thickly and scorched, broken furniture is scattered about. A skeleton lies on the bed and several more blackened skeletons lie by the door. Ylrhea sees nothing of note in the room.

More looking!

Then next room.

Nothing magical. You missed the big surprise by 1 :P

You leave the grim scene behind and go to the next door. Dust shrouds this obviously looted bedchamber. The small skeleton of a child lies sprawled among the ruin. Above the skeleton hovers the translucent figure of a young boy, his spectral face streaked with tears.

Deleted. Ninja'd again.

I didn't do it!

Mortimus silently studies the specter, calculating his chances of dominating such a powerful undead spirit.

Religion: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21

Gaping, ragged wounds, including a slashed throat, pierce this spectral child’s bloodstained nightshirt and body. Tears roll down its cheeks as it regards you with red eyes filled with a mixture of fear and loathing. "I am Einar Ironwolf, son of Valentin Ironwolf. My father was a famed adventurer who sought a place to make his home. Retirement was not in his heart, but the wanderlust of his youth had long since died and he now sought a corner of the world to call his own. Along with my mother, me and his faithful retainers, he claimed the site upon which now stands the Shadowed Keep."

Mortimus:
In your appraisal, you find this ghost isn't that powerful.

Mortimus scoffs. Ghosts were powerful but wild and their insubstantial nature make them poorly equipped for many common tasks.

"What became of your father?"

The ghost looks at Mortimus with contempt. "You passed through the Great Hall. His bones lie there."

Female Gnome Rogue 13; Mythic Tier 3rd (Trickster) HP: 115/115; AC: 26, FF: 19, T: 17; Fort: +8, Ref: +16, Will +7 (+4 vs fear); Perception: +19; Init: +8

"Please, Einar, we are here to help in any way we can, just tell us more of what happened here," the gnome says, trying to be comforting.

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 10 = 18

The ghost turns to the gnome, but says nothing more.
