Was kind of waiting for the others to chime in. Is everyone still there?
Will: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12
Anuum projects what best he could feel as anger into the box.

![]() |

Getting impatient, Tavagra steps infront of the psychic and looks down to it, "I'm opening this damn thing. First we got them undead bastards running around, meanwhile we have to open some old boxes!"
Intimidate: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (12) + 9 = 21

Still here! I wasn't feeling very well the past couple of days, but I'm back in action! ;)
I'm Dutch. I consider myself to be quite decent at using English, but I suck at solving riddles in both Dutch and English... xD Before I read that Anuum had already solved the riddle I was thinking of just naming all white birds I knew, haha! :P
Olivia slowly turns her head toward Tavagra, the latter's sudden outburst catching her by surprise.
Wow... she sure sounds pissed...

Only 3 active players atm? Can we continue like this? There is one more encounter.
You report to grandmaster Torch and he reveals that Nessian lairs in a new base of operations nicknamed the Pyramid of the Dog which he has carved out of a ruin of halfcollapsed siege towers, just outside of Absalom. He's glad you opened all 5 of them and hands you 100g each. (this can only be spend during the adventure, after the adventure it is lost/included in the chronicle.)
"De remember that if Nessian discovers you got this information from me, that would be most unprofessional and word about that might spread faster then you think."
***
The path to Nessian's "pyramid of the dog" takes you to the edge of the city.
You arrive at a small pyramid like building. Nessian’s decrepit lair is not a pyramid at all. Rather it consists of four ancient, battered siege towers, three of which have collapsed inward toward the largest, forming a giant, tepee-like wreck. Each leaning tower bears a makeshift guardhouse, providing an excellent vantage point for the War Hounder sentry posted inside. Map up. The side 'towers' door entrances are only 5ft up. The center tower has a bridge/balcony about 20ft up.
You can hide behind some boulders before they have spotted you. You can discuss a course of action.

![]() |

Behind the boulder Anuum looks to the others. Any ideas?

![]() |

When you are all ready!
Assuming we all set up for a surprise ranged attack.
Peering around the boulder Anuum opens the gate on his mind and sends a pair of force missile rocketing across the open field at the red and orange thug.
Use wand of Mage Armor.

The old scenarios were made for parties of 4 players. I think we can still beat this scenario with the 3 of us, considering 1 is lv2 and 1 is lv3.
Due to the close range of her ray of frost Olivia decides it's best for her to stay behind the boulders just a moment longer while her allies attack the thugs.

Fjuri |

Anuum knocks both the red and orange war hounder to the ground. They curse, "&#§$, alarm, there attackers!"

You actually need them to be within 15 ft of each other. So Earlier you killed the green war hounder, now you've killed the orange war hounder.
Anuum kills the second war hounder. You hear the dog barking loudly, as if he's being released.

Tavagra tries to send out another wad of magical acid, to no avail.

![]() |

@GM: I removed red for you! ;)
Olivia hears the dog's barking and expects it to come toward her and her allies soon. She takes a big step away from the boulders and readies a ray of frost for the dog, or any other enemy that comes within her spell's range.
Readied Attack: Ray of Frost: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22 Damage: 1d3 ⇒ 1

"Alright, I'm coming!" Olivia double moves in the direction of the last war hounder.

AC is 19 against ranged attacks due to Breeze-kissed racial trait
Anuum rushes around the building further, sticking close to the wall for protection.
Double Move
Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19

"Agh!" Olivia grasps her shoulder, where the projectile hit her. She pulls it out, which only makes the wound bleed faster.
Olivia flicks her wrist and a wand appears in her hand. Before she moves forward Olivia uses the wand to cast mage armor on herself.
I should've done this earlier on!
AC's been adjusted in my stat bar! :)

Tavagra stays to cover and reloads her crossbow. She then takes aim at the shooter as soon as he/ she pops out.

Seeing the dog around the corner Anuum skids to a halt. A nearby stone lifts lightly into the air and hurtles at the dog.
"Stick close to the wall!"
Telekinetic Projectile: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 1 = 11
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 6
As the stone flies Anuum flits back behind one of the pillars as he awaits the dog.

![]() |

"Will do!" Olivia replies to Anuum.
Olivia steps up to the nearest wall so she also has some cover. She puts her wand of mage armor between her belt and flicks her other wrist, causing a wand of infernal healing to exit her other wrist sheath. A tap from the healing wand causes her wound to slowly start healing.
Infernal Healing 1/10

Someone pm'd me that Tavagra will be having trouble as well completing the adventure. It seems (s)he lost her account access.
Ref: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
With a combined attack of Olivia and Anuum, the dog goes silent. The man who was up in the tower, abandons his tower and runs at Olivia to attack her.
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24
Damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
As you want to attack him, you notice he is blurred.

![]() |

I hope she'll be able to get it back! >.<
Could you maybe let us bot her during this last fight, GM? She may still be able to come back before the end of the scenario, and we'll at least still have 3 characters fighting instead of facing the boss with 2.
Olivia grits her teeth as she takes the hit, but luckily her infernal healing immediately closes a portion of the wound. She steps away from the man and sends another wave of flames forward, thus ignoring the man's advantage from being blurred and providing Anuum with a clear line of sight.
Burning Hands: 3d4 + 3 ⇒ (2, 1, 3) + 3 = 9
DC 17 Ref for half.
Infernal Healing 3/10

Reflex: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20

Tyranius continues to have extreme difficulty lifting the rubble as his mind is nearly shut off.
Telekinetic Projectile: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9

![]() |

Anuum takes a look around as he searches through the bodies. One by one he flips them over and searches through the bodies.
Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19

Fjuri |

There's nothing spectacular to be found on the bodies, although some of them are still alive, even if they are dying. On the body of the man who ran from the tower you find the book you are looking for. After a couple of minutes peering through the book, one of you remembers to bring Yargos in on it.
"Great work my friends... Ah, here it is, the signal to put the attack on hold again is here."
He looks around and find some flares laying about in the tower. He gives them to you and points at them.
"first fire that one, than that one, then wait exactly twenty four seconds, then fire that one."
The session is hereby completed.

![]() |

Olivia does exactly as Yargos tells her to do.
"It's over now, right?" She's quiet for a moment, then lets out a relieved sigh. "Good..."
