Thror Tjarkson

"Mmmh..." Thror studies Remy for a moment before raising an eyebrow and speaking:"Somehow I concur, my friend..."
| DM Feral |
Finished investigating for now, the party departs for the site of the vaunted village festival.
A large field here has been fenced off, creating an area where tents, benches, and tables have been set out for today’s festival and celebration. Even a makeshift stage has been setup for the afternoon’s festivities. Unlit piles of wood bonfires stand around the field’s perimeter, and an open space in the center is cleared and ringed with benches for the competitions that are getting underway just as the party arrives.
It seems that the general energy is high enough from the festivities that the previously cold villagers no longer avoid the party during the festival games. After a three legged race, a knife throwing contest, and a particularly intense long jump over a small bonfire, sturdy farmers and strapping young men line up for the crowd's favorite event - a greased pig chase. Some of the children look to the party, curious if the outsiders will participate.
Vello Tiskan
|
Vello enjoys himself watching and participating in the festival but when the greased big chase is about the begin, he shrinks back among his companions. Sort of hiding himself. He whispers to his companions, "Not liking the idea of getting myself dirty chasing a greased pig."
Kenza Bloodborn
|
Kenza remains alert and on edge, watching over her superior Pathfinders, and scanning the crow for suspicious activity instead of participating in -- or paying much attention to -- the festival. At the conclusion of each event she claps politely, before going back to her silent vigil over the others.
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
Frostwind
|
Frostwind enjoys the knife throwing contest, but keeps away from the three legged race and the jump over the fire.
Trying here and there she gives her best to appear non threatening and jolly.
Thror Tjarkson
|
"Vile swine! Let's put thata abomination out of its misery, friends" Thror proclaims, a little too excitedly for someone supposed to loathe these "heathen practices"...
Lucy_Galonnica
|
Lucy seems to abhor everything. The idea of wrestling down a grease pig gets her hackles up, and she mutters through the whole thing. Though, she does participate in the knife throwing contest, throwing her personal knife with surprising skill for a delicate maiden. As the contest winds up, she looks at the others.
I am NOT chasing down a pig. Greased or otherwise.
Thror Tjarkson
|
"It could be a DEVIL PIG... your kind of pig, you know?" Thror whispers to Lucy in a conspiratoprial tone, apparently all too happy to make the chelish woman feel unconfortable...
Kenza Bloodborn
|
Not Kenza.
Vello Tiskan
|
Vello isn't. No desire to dirty his cloths.
| DM Feral |
A pair of brawny villagers bring a squealing, sickly-looking pig into the enclosure where Thror and the other participants are lined up. To the cheers of a growing crowd, the men slather the increasingly agitated pig liberally in slippery grease before tying the end of the rope around its neck to a post.
If you make the above...

Knowledge (Nature) DC20: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23
Vello looks at distaste on the event that is about to transpire. "The pig seems to be drugged. It is definitely under the influence of something."

Perception check: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19
"Dirty swine! Come, meet your DOOM!" Thror exclaims in rather disturbing fashion...
"What hails you! What manner of unholy malady prevents your from fulfilling your culinary duty?!?!"
Lucy_Galonnica
|
Hearing Vello's proclamation on the health of the pig, Lucy snorts and says, juuuuuust loud enough for the villagers to hear...
Leave it to a bunch of country bumpkins to not even get a pig wrestling match right. Drugging the swine? Are the men... excuse me, boys, here so incompetent they need to drug a pig to wrestle it?

Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22
Heal: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17
Noticing the pig looks drugged, Kenza eyes the surrounding food and beverages warily.
If they would drug a pig, why not a group of strangers asking prying questions?
Why not a lone female Pathfinder?
| DM Feral |
Hearing Vello and Lucy's accusations, one of the older villagers officiating calls for a halt to the competition. Before he can make his way into the field to examine the pig, it squeals one final time and collapses.
The energetic crowd cries out in surprise only to be silenced as the fallen animal suddenly undergoes a startling transformation into a twisted monstrosity. An additional pair of legs sprout from its body and its eyes turn pitch black with no visible whites, while a number of flytraplike jaws sprout from its back. Most of the villagers immediately panic and flee.
Before the party can do the same, the monster turns its lifeless eyes toward you and charges!
Initiatives: 7d20 ⇒ (5, 5, 17, 3, 17, 10, 3) = 60
The party is up.
Not going to bother with a map for this thing. Thror is 10 feet away. Everyone else is 60 feet away.

Kenza charges at the beast and greets it with a flying kick! AC is 14, T 13, FF 11 for 1 round due to charging.
Attack: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 4 + 2 = 26
Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Confirming a Critical: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 4 + 2 = 9
Extra Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
Note: If Kenza cannot charge due to terrain, she instead takes a move action, drawing a dagger as she goes, and throws the dagger at the pig. Her AC is not lower, she still doesn't confirm her critical hit, and the damage is instead:
Dagger Damage: 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7

Not expecting the pig to turn into some type of strange creature in a gruesome way. He almost steps back but reminds himself he is a Pathfinder.
With new resolve, he holds his palm out and starts to collect his energy. The air around his hand begins to fog up as the air begins to crystalize from the cold. He then shoots the energy toward the pig-thing.
Cold Blast (Range Touch): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21
Cold Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Move Action: Gather Power
Standard Action: Cold Blast w/ Extended Range Infusion
hehe... with the description of the pig changing, it reminds me of the old and new The Thing movies.

Lucy grabs her dagger and hesitates.
Anyone have a clue what that thing is?!
She grips the dagger and pulls the blade out, then hisses to a empty space to her left.
SHUT UP! I'm working on it! There are to many people here! GAH! Will you be QUIET!
GM, are there still a lot of villagers around?
She steps forward and whispers "Claw of the Grand Raven, Kill!" and her tiny little dagger transforms into a greatsword as big as she is, jet black and etched with red runes.
Sword Strike: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19
Damage: 2d6 + 7 ⇒ (4, 2) + 7 = 13
Her pretty dainty self suddenly twisting to show the layers of muscle hidden under the red dress, she brings the great blade down on the pig thing!

"Ah! I knew it! Blasphemers and servants of the Dark! All of you! I shall purge this ham-bomination from existance then you've better be prepared to give us some answers!" Thror shouts before advancing on the mutant pig and slashing at the creaturee with his waraxe!

@Lucy: There's a half dozen villagers still around, either frozen in fear or watching in morbid fascination.
Lucy lands a solid blow against the unnatural horror but finds the 'flesh' resistant to her cutting edge.
Kenza's kick and Vello's cold blast are entirely ignored.
Someone care to NPC our AFK rogue or should I just skip him this round?
Thror Tjarkson
|
As far as I'm concerned you should bot him, but if anyone else wants to do it I've nothing against that either
| DM Feral |
I'm just going to delay Remy for now. I'm too busy and the stakes aren't high enough for me to spend time figuring out other peoples' characters.
The horrific pig-creature gives a rattling squeal that echoes across the field.
Everyone needs to make a DC 12 will save vs fear or be sickened for a round.
It then lunges at Lucy with the largest of it flytrapper mouths.

Lucy gives a sniff and whispers... Claw of the Grand Raven, Sleep.
and her massive greatsword once again shrinks down to the size of a dagger. She flicks it a few times to wipe it of blood and dries it on the hem of her blood red dress. Lucy shifts her dress then and straightens it as her muscles seem to settle back down into their more lithe form.
Sense motive: 1d20 ⇒ 6
She blushes a little at Vello's comment and "Harumphs" as she slides the dagger back into it's sheath.
I was not bluffing when I say I earned my rank. Even if I had to do so in a most unlady like manner. How barbaric.
She seems more concerned with the fact that everyone saw her acting so "Uncouth" than the dead pig monster or the villagers reactions.
Kenza Bloodborn

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
