Yeah, those are the default spells. I might not change them at all. I would have to read the thread again.
What I want to do is go to a library, to make another knowledge check, but I don't want to hold the game up. More than likely I will make a roll as if I had found a library, and see if I can get more information.
That way no matter whether the town has a library or not the roll will be there. I think I will make that roll right now.

Elans don't get darkvision. Halflings only get a Perception bonus. However, my psicrystal "sees" in total darkness, so I usually roleplay it giving me darkvision-by-proxy. Or Skender, in this case. The catch is, the "sight" is only good for 40 feet.
So yes, a couple of scrolls of Darkvision would be prudent. I wasn't looking forward to fighting in darkness, hence the signet ring with poison pill and Continual Flame. I also have an Everburning Torch and two sunrods for backup.
I've often roleplayed the Sorcerer in the back of the party holding the bullseye lantern for the rest of the team. It usually blinds the dwarf in the front, however. :)

It's an eternal argument: light source vs. see in darkness. Many of my 6th Level+ characters have +1 lighted spiked gauntlets of cold iron and silver, which I roleplay as if having LED glow strips or chemical rechargeable lightsticks on my character's arms. The manufactured ring of Continual Flame could also be a Headband of Continual Flame, or the Ioun Torch (didn't we just discuss the Ioun Torch?). This is because I play Humans 99% of the time.
If you're going to go with Darkvision you might as well go "full stealth" and add Invisibility. Not now, of course, but when designing a Level 7+ character. Here we have snow, which is as bad as sand for revealing footprints. So add in Boots of Levitation.

I've e-mailed our missing player, and copied their information, like I did with Nathan. Just in case she does not come back. I'm prepared to NPC her if needed.
Glad you're still here, everyone!
Nathan, did you intend those open slots for "on the fly" casting from a lower level? Just wondering. That's what people usually do. But I thought that only worked with clerics, sorcerers, bards, etc.

Ok, I've got Sandria's stats copied over. Making a few changes, she used an automatic program so I have no idea about her mind blade shapes or three astral armors. She seemed to go for "hard hitting", I'm changing that to darkvision and cold resistance for her astral armor.
The nice thing is, her astral armor has a Flight option, so I'll make that her backup to attacks.
Sandria also went for two-handed fighting, but no mention of what the two weapons actually were. I'll wing it from the damage type.

Posting so I can look at her stats faster. It looks like she pumped all her Metaforge levels into Aegis, not Soulknife. So she's effectively a Level 3 Soulknife (weak, only +1 weapons) and a Level 7 Aegis (decent). In other words, a tank, not a cleaver. Sandria went for two-weapon fighting but at our level one 2D6 is better than two 1D6s or a 1D8 and a 1D6.
Still researching Soulknife, Aegis, and Metaforges...

See, catman, this is where a large overland map is nice to have. If the module didn't come with one, you can make your own. Some people grab a map from other games online, some draw their own & scan it in as a picture, etc. I cannot draw, so I use Google Documents in Excel spreadsheet mode to sketch. It's got a built-in grid, characters can move their own PCs by typing a name in an Excel cell, and I can color the blocks that I call 5-foot-squares.
Spreadsheets cannot do large maps, I realize, but Word documents let you put all kinds of shapes and colors on them, what we in the Army would call a "strip map". Slightly faster than a pencil & paper scanned into the computer.
Just food for thought.
-------------------------------
As for Sandria, it turns out Metaforges are a "the best of both worlds" type prestige class, so she is effectively a Soulknife7/Ageis7, or Level 14 overall. That's over the Level 10 cap at first glance, but a metaforge only gains specific level abilities for soulknife/ageis, so it balances out. Still researching...
I'm playing with the idea of Sandrai throwing her mind blades at range, since she can re-form them the next round. And upping her damage somehow.

Catman, mediafire.com and google docs are good to use as backup for files. I have many of my files there. It helped me a lot when my computer crashed back in December. I know it might be too late now, but when you get things up and running it is nice to have. A 2nd hard drive is also a good investment.

If you want us to be able to move ourselves around on the map, you're going to want to set the bit next to the permissions regarding who can access it to "Can Edit" instead of "View Only", or whatever it says. Also, it's possible to change the height/length of blocks to a more reasonable size/shape for a map, although i haven't fiddled with Google Docs in regards to map-making.

This map has all the squares the same size. I save it under a different name by copying it when I make battlemaps online.--> basic map
