He nudges his cousin and eyes the man. Not saying anything. But still nods at his smiling

As he keeps his eyes on the man's image, Caleb gauges the wealthy sympathizer's reaction to their answers. 'He certainly seems pleased, happy,' he thinks, coming to a conclusion, as well as the decision to keep his wits about him and be as cautious as he can about this whole situation he has found himself in. 'Almost too happy,' he finishes his thought.

The man nods and then says, "Well, it seems that most of you are on board at least." He laughs lightly to himself, as if some private joke had just been heard. "I'm sure the rest of you will come along shortly. Let's go and see your ship and along the way, I will tell you about the first task."
The droid reappears at the doorway and leads you down some hallways to a turbolift shaft. This turbolift takes you directly to the Jade Empress's main hangar, in which you see several shuttles, a couple of light freighters and even a few fighter craft. During the walk, the droid speaks of your first mission for your mysterious benefactor.
"A lesson in knowing yourselves and your enemies. Your first task is very simple. Come and find me. Not the hologram me, the real me. Use your skills and knowledge. Together it shouldn't be too difficult." The droid then produces a datapad. "Your BoSS registration papers. You will need it to complete the registration of your ship by naming her and her captain. I have a feeling I know which of you it will be, but I will do my best to be surprised. Ah.. there she is. Like her?"
In front of you, in the very back of the hangar, is a ship that looks like it has seen better days. There is carbon scoring almost everywhere and a few things look speedtaped on. You gather that she was once a Ghtroc 720 Model 0, but now...
Nebten Nox |
"What a piece of junk," Nebten wines.
"I can say that I am surprised. Freedom, eh? Maybe more like Falling Apart. Is anybody opposed to Glory Hold?"
Nebten turns to the hologram with a pointed finger but a wily grin.
"We'll find you Flapjack. Just don't go jumping around the galaxy expecting us to play 'Wack a Womp Rat.' And you're paying for fuel too."
Nebten then turns around at his crew to see if they have anything else to add.
DM ShadowBloodmoon |
PP Mechanics to Check out the ship.
The hologram the droid is carrying looks flabbergasted. "While that would be more entertaining, I do have a schedule to keep. We'll discuss fuel, I did say the ship was yours, did I not? She's fully loaded at this point."
This would be a Social roll to attempt to convince him to also pay for fuel. Purple Red Black x2 Difficulty with Coercion, Red Red Black x2 with Influence.
Nebten Nox |
Nebten seemed to have hit a nerve with his sponsor, so he backs off a bit.
"I'm sure it has a low rate of fuel per par sec. Thanks, Jack."
Turning to the party, Nebten makes a few recommendations.
"Well, we are dealing with what appears to be a Chandrilan noble. I recommend we head to Chandrila. Maybe the HoloNet might have some information on this guy as well."
Tarkazza |
"Before we leave I suggest we collect any and all our equipment from security. I am NOT leaving my stuff here" he nods to himself mostly.
Hey. A ship is a ship. But he knew his cousin would be able to quuckly make it better than it allready is. With time, but at least it would not stay looking like it was now

DM ShadowBloodmoon |
Seemingly satisfied with your current responses, the droid turns to leave. He makes a motion for the Bothan, Cullen, to follow him. It would seem that it has another mission in store for him.
As you watch them leave, Kutishek gives the ship a once over. Despite looking like she was put together with spittle and chewing gum, it appears she is still in flying order. The seals and particle field generators look intact and the hyperdrive still has plenty of fuel, as well as do the subspace burners. While the paint could use work and some armor panels will obviously need replaced, she seems in good working order. Only by actually flying her would you find any quirks.
The ship is considered a stock Ghtroc 720 Mod 0 ship. I'll post the stats for her later on, as I am out of town, but you shouldn't need them... yet...
Nebten Nox |
Is Zeylud going to be joining us? He's posted on alts elsewhere, but not here in nearly a week.
Nebten hands Tarkazza his collection chit.
"Would you mind picking up my blaster since you are going in the direction anyways. That'll give me time to go over the ship with Kutishek in more details. It's the one with Badass Motherfocker on the grip."
Zeylud |
Zeylud looks at the ship and at the others just being respectfully silent as he had nothing to add on the workings of a ship. He watched the group curiously and at the mysterious benefactors departure via hologram.
He looked at the others "I don't believe I saw anything from the conversation that was a clue as to our first hint. I imagine that he didn't leave us with no information so perhaps we should check the navicomputer for previous destinations or a plotted course to the first of our breadcrumbs, hmm?" he said as he stepped towards the ship, a hand stroking at his facial hair.
He looked at the others for a bit "I imagine flying this deathtrap and most likely the adventures proceeding will give you a need of a doctor, yes? I do have to say that I am also a learned man beyond that of the medical field...but I'm not gonna be too much help in a fight." he said before he turned to go get his weapon from lockup.
Caleb Rook |
"There is little I can do here, as what I know of ships is... well, limited," Caleb admits with a shrug as he moves to join Tarkazza and Zeylud as they go to retrieve their weapons.
Nebten Nox |
"Excellent idea there, doc. You look smart enough to work your way around a NavComp or any comp' in general. See what you can find during check-out."
DM ShadowBloodmoon |
I Put the stats for the ship in the Campaign Info box... just need to name her..
Those of you who head to the security office are greeted by a young Human Male whose ID tag names him as Garren. "Hello. Can I help you folks find anything? Your rooms? The refreshers? The dining hall? Casino?"
DM ShadowBloodmoon |
Gulping, as he is probably not used to dealing with a 2+ meter tall Wookiee, the guard stutters a bit as he says, "I'm sorry, but no weapons on the ship. You'll have to wait until we dock at Brentaal IV in a few days."
Tarkazza |
"we are leaving on our own ship. Can we have our things moved there? " he tries do sound nice. But how can you if all it is is grunts and growls. Actually. He should just give up trying to "sound" nice
-Posted with Wayfinder
DM ShadowBloodmoon |
"Uh.. I guess that would be okay, but we will place it in a mag sealed container that will open once you leave the hangar." He goes to start filing some data in order to process your request. "we should have it there within a few hours. What ship?"
Other than a couple of other security guards who are watching this interaction, no one else seems to be paying any attention to any of you.
Tarkazza |

Tarkazza looks a bit puzzled. And tries to describe the ship. Then finally shakes his head
"Im really not good at remembering these things. It's the ship at this docking bay..."

DM ShadowBloodmoon |
You guys haven't named the ship or finished the registration with the BoSS yet, which is why you were given the datapad, so you could do so. Once that is done, you will be able to tell the guard where to send your stuff.
"I'm sorry, sir. I have no record of a ship being in docking bay 32-Alpha. Are you certain?"
Caleb Rook |
"Perhaps my...," Caleb begins before pausing and looking the Wookiee up and down and then continuing, "...friend is misremembering. Just like he said." The man's look is apologetic. "I am sorry for wasting your time. We will check and get back to you, yes?"
Nebten Nox |

Nebten plops into the captain's chair and begins to fill out the BoSS registration form.

Welcome aboard, Captain Nox.
Having registered the ship as the Marauder's Moll Nice one by the way... and the captain as Nebten Nox, the security detail now can transfer your equipment to the ship as asked. They do remind you however that the weapons will be in sealed containers that are unable to be opened until after you leave the confines of the hangar.
Nebten Nox |
Nebten eases into pilot's chair before remembering something in his inside right coat pocket. He pulls out a magnized placard and slaps it on the console above him so that anybody who enters the front cabin can see it.
MUSIC PLAYED LOUD!
Captain's orders
Nebten then turns on the comm and clears his voice.
"Good day, crew. This is Captain Nox speaking. As we are going through our final checklists, please make your way to your assigned seats. In case of interstellar altercations, I would like the following person to fill the proceeding role:
Caleb: Gunner
Kutishek: Engineer
Tarkazza: Auxiliary
Zeylud: Co-Pilot.
Speaking of Zeylud, can you come up here and help me with the AstroNav. You had a good idea about seeing where this ship may have came from."
Nebten then places his boots on the dash and begins to flick some switches errantly.
Zeylud |
Zeylud raised a brow at the announcement and shook his head. He made his way leisurely up towards the AstroNav. He looked around a bit at the interior of the ship hoping that it was better cobbled together then the outside.
He yawned as he found where he was supposed to be and scratched his chin a bit as he walked a bit back and forth in front of it. He wasn't overtly familiar with the tech but he figured he'd be as good as any to play with it. He began delving into it with a bit of curiosity that may waylay him a bit.
GGGvsPP: 3d8 + 2d8 ⇒ (2, 3, 3) + (7, 1) = 16 3 success, 2 threat
He was a bit surprised at his own aptitude with the device. While he had said he had an idea of what he was doing, it was really only theoretical in nature that he had an idea of what he was doing.
DM ShadowBloodmoon |
For all intents and purposes, the Moll's NavData has been formatted and updated to current charts. Anything prior to this has been erased. However, Zeylud is able to determine, due to date backtracking, that this ship has been in this hangar for quite some time, possibly months.
Caleb Rook |
"A... gunner it is then, I suppose," Caleb muses with a shrug. There is a first time for everything.
As Nebten is preoccupied with enjoying his place in the pilot's seat and Kutishek is toiling away checking the hyperdrive engine, Caleb finds himself with not to much to do, at least at the moment. So he decides to get himself better acquainted with the interior of the ship and its various places and compartments, big and small.

For those of you that are curious, Your New Home
Where to next for the next clue? The Jade Empress is about to leave dock and head towards its jump point. You have approximately 2 hours to figure out where to go next before she leaves...
Nebten Nox |
Nebten is about to prep the AstroNav for take off when an idea hits him. He then makes his way to the common area to share his thoughts to anybody who will listen.
"Our benifactor said that the Jade Empress is his ship. Who wants to hobnob with the staff and guests to see if they know this guy? Maybe a little slicing to at least to see who's name is on the title?"
Kutishek |
Nebten is about to prep the AstroNav for take off when an idea hits him. He then makes his way to the common area to share his thoughts to anybody who will listen.
"Our benifactor said that the Jade Empress is his ship. Who wants to hobnob with the staff and guests to see if they know this guy? Maybe a little slicing to at least to see who's name is on the title?"
"That sounds like things I am not skilled at. I may be able to provide a distraction if needed, or play the part of an angry bodyguard to a rich patron."
DM ShadowBloodmoon |
As if to emphasize the unspoken time limit placed on you, the intercom for the ship crackles to life, speaking in Basic and then repeating in Bocce and Huttese. "Attention passengers, Welcome aboard the Jade Empress! We hope you will enjoy your three week tour through the most affluent parts of the galaxy, visiting places such as The Wheel Casino, Muunilinst's Aurelium mines and vaults, Malistare's pod racing gambling halls and of course, Imperial Center. We will be leaving soon, so get ready for adventure!"
Caleb Rook |
"Well, Nebten," Caleb says with a smile, "you seem to be quite the talker. Perhaps you could play the part? With one of the Wookiees as your bodyguard?"
Nebten Nox |
"Yes, but no. Bodyguards say 'Stay away from me.' Nothing draws attention more than not one but two wookiees walking around together."
Nebten then turns to Kutishek. "You seem to know your way around a ship. How about computers? Check out the HoloNet about our benifactor, or maybe slice into some surface layers of the ship to see if we can get a name of this guy."
Nebten then tries to find the protocol droid that escorted them around the Jade or at least some docking crew.
"Hey, so who owns this carrier?"
DM ShadowBloodmoon |
A Twi'lek hangar crewmember answers Nebten's search. "This ship belongs to FarStarLines. All of us work for the owner of that company through the dockworkers guild and oversight company. The owner's name is Gerren Jalma. Never met the man myself, but I hear he is richer than some of the bankers on Muunilinst."
Nebten Nox |
Core Worlds Simple GG vs P: 2d8 + 1d8 ⇒ (5, 6) + (6) = 17 Net: Advance
Core Worlds GG: 2d8 ⇒ (6, 7) = 13 Advance, Success
PPP: 3d8 ⇒ (5, 6, 1) = 12 Threat x2
So I guess I got the second one but not the first.
Nebten returns to the Marauders' Moll.
"OK, so the guy who runs things around here is Gerren Jalma. I've heard things about this guy. It's obvious that he's is stinking rich, but he wasn't born into it. He worked his way up from many low level and many not so legal jobs on Chandrila. Jalma ran into a bit of luck with the collapse of the Republic and has been banking on those fortunes ever since. While he keeps his true worth secret, everyone knows he can afford almost everything. He has been known to have dealings with Imperial Senators, Hutt Crime Lords and everything in between. It is said there is no pocket his money can't reach. Lucky us, so let's find the bottom."
Nebten makes his way toward the cockpit.
"Unless anybody wants a second round at the buffet, we are going to be on our way. Kutsy, make sure this Jalma's mug matches up with the man we saw on the holo. Also make sure he is currently on Chandrila, not on Coruscant for a business meeting. Got the 'Nav ready, Zey? Let's get out of here."
Unless anybody else has any business on the Jade, Nebten will prepare to depart from the Jade. With Zey's assistance he will punch in a course for Chandrila (unless Kutishek's search brings another location).
Astrogate YGG: 1d12 + 2d8 ⇒ (4) + (6, 7) = 17 Success x3, Advantage x2
DM ShadowBloodmoon |
I will allow the success on the second to allow you to know the first roll.
It is easy to search the HoloNet for this man and his picture does match up with the hologram you saw. All records state that he does still maintain a residence on Chandrila, but as to where he is now will require more digging.
A droid's voice comes over the loudspeaker. "Captain Nox, you are cleared for take off. Jade Empress and FarStarLines appreciates your stay with us." You immediately get flight path coordinates to take you away from the ship and towards the hyperspace jump points.
Caleb Rook |
"Off we go then," Caleb remarks as he straps himself in, taking care to choose a place not far from the gun emplacement. "A gunner," he mutters to himself in mild disbelief. This was not what he expected when he decided to actually use the tickets.
"Ah, well..."
Caleb is hardly a computer expert, so I will leave the check to someone else.
