is there any check I can make to try to get more speed out of the hyperdrive?

Yes there is, if make an Hard (PPP) Astronavigation check, it will allow you to plot a faster course, but wary of the mistakes...

Setback from Kutishek's breach of security: 1d6 ⇒ 5Adds an additional threat.

Zeylud and Kutishek determine that not only will said Imperial Senator be there, but the region's Moff as well. This means the Imperial presence will be rather large. As you are reading the details, a tiny screen opens up and then closes immediately. Someone is tracking your searches...

Nebten's Sheet

"Good job you two. I knew you had it in you. Now the question is: do we have to make it there before this event or just wait until he's had his little meeting and wait for Imps to leave before rolling in and saying 'Hello'." Well, I hope they leave ...

Before wanting to push up the schedule, Nebten will wait for the party's input.

Can Neb use the Astrogate roll he had in his previous post? He's waiting to see if its imperative for us to arrive sooner before pushing the ship.

Zeylud tilts his head as he stares at the console "Hmm, someone caught on to our searching...It might be a good idea to push it a bit so that whoever tapped in won't be sitting and waiting for us. But that would just be my thoughts." he said as he began to play with the computer a bit to try and figure out if he could find out what else the y may have clued in on or to confuse them.

Nebten's Sheet

"Pushing Moll any more might not be a good idea. After all we just met and this is our first date. No need to get frisky. I'm a gentleman after all.

"I'm not too worried about somebody tracking our search. We are just interested citizens wanting to know where a senator will be this week."

Nebten readies the ship for a hyperspace jump to Chandrila and engages. As the spacelines begin to emerge, music begins to pump through the comm system.

"OK folks. This one is a classic from the pre-Clone Wars era."

Round round get around
I get around

Savage Rifts RotRwT

More like Pre-Old Republic... nice one!

As the ship enters hyperspace, ancient music blaring over the comms, every once in a while, you hear a clang, or a scrape of metal on metal, or a buzz or crackle of electricity, but as soon as you hear it, it goes away. Other than the occasional shudder, which is definitely cause by hyperspacial waveforms and NOT the ship as you keep trying to tell yourself, the flight is relatively smooth.

You have three game days to get to know each other more, otherwise, we'll just move on to the arrival at Chandrila.

Becoming familiar with the ship's layout and relaxing in one's quarters can help pass the time only so much. And it will be some time before they reach their destination, especially considering that pushing this particular ship to get there faster may cause it to stop altogether. 'I may as well get to know my new friends a little better, I suppose,' he concludes as he moves about, looking for the pilot and finding him in his usual spot.

"So," he calls out to Nebten, or Neb as he said he liked to be called, "what made you take our... benefactor up on his offer when you got those tickets? Curiosity? Lack of credits? Plain old boredom?"

Nebten's Sheet

"Definitely lack of credits. Plus an ex-husband. Not my ex-husband, mind you. This girl I was seeing on the side. He found us one time messing around. Then started to blast at us while spouting 'I have the death sentence on twelve systems.' I got off one shot. I thought it hit his face, but he kept coming at me like an enraged nerf. I was able to escape will little more then my blaster and boxers. Do you know how hard it is to find an clothing store in the middle of the night?

"So I decided to find one of those systems to hide out & make some cred. Actually now that I think about it, I don't believe Zynep ever said 'ex' when talking about him.

"How about you Caleb? You appear to be a man of simple means."

"Not much to tell really," Caleb says with a shrug of nonchalance. "I do move around a bit, but not because I am wanted in any systems like your... ex-husband. Simple restlessness, I suppose. Other than that, I have worked my number of jobs, but nothing fancy really. Probably the most interesting of those would be acting as a guard or a bodyguard on occasion, though I do avoid the seedier job propositions."

After a few days of getting to know each other, you arrive at Chandrila, in the Bormea sector. It isn't long before you spot two Star Destroyers orbiting the planet, along with hundreds of other ships of varying purpose, military to civilian. This is a busy place lately. The Message to Spacers is simple. "Welcome to Chandrila, governed by Imperial Governor Grandon Holleck. Current wait time to land at Hanna Spaceport, 30 minutes. Please be aware that the due to the increase in government traffic, these times may vary. Standby for coordinates."

Nebten's Sheet

"I hardly doubt the Imperial knew there were children involved. They never get close enough when they bomb from the stratosphere."

Nebten acknowledges the greeting and awaits coordinates to land.

"Well, I only have my pistol, which is pretty visible," Caleb remarks as he moves to remove both the gun and the holster. "At least I do not have too many weapons to get rid of, I suppose. If trouble finds us or we find it, I guess my fists will have to do."

You land at Docking Bay 227 Gamma inside Hanna Spaceport. You notice that the ships in your assigned area have a similar look as yours, run down, damaged and definitely not stock. It's almost as if they are trying to keep you separated from something. Once you complete docking procedures, a sky blue protocol droid approaches your landing ramp.

"Greetings and Welcome to Chandrila! I am HH-7D, your personal guide and ship dock facilitator! While here on our lovely planet, please observe the strict no weapons policy. The Empire thanks you for your sincere cooperation. Now, may we discuss docking fees?"

As if to emphasize the bit about rules-following, you notice from your view in the cockpit that a squad of stromtroopers has taken up post near your docking bay entrance.

Zeylud had spent the time better situating the medbay and the communications center. After he had done that he began a full work up on the crew to get to know them and their medical past as best he could as he knew that they would be his customers for the days to come.

He chuckled at the others when they were worried about the no guns portion. He smiled "It is good then that you have a few wookies with you and a selonian for that matter. I assume that my medical credentials will get me around for the time being. I don't suppose you would be ok with being my orderlies, yes?[/b]" he asked the two wookies in curiosity.

While the Empire may be heavy in the area, his medical credentials should at least protect him from any unwanted attention and trouble till perhaps after their first real problem with the Imperials.

Nebten's Sheet

"Hey there Seventy. Can you answer me a few questions. What is the population make up of Chandrila? And what major events are occurring this week?"

The droid stands proud, as if excited he was needed and not just an annoyance. "The current standard population of Chandrila is approximately 1.2 billion sentient beings, though it varies each day with commercial traffic. This week marks the celebration of the assignment of Grandon Holleck as Imperial Governor of Chandrila. A large gala, invite only of course, is to be held at Gerren Jalma's estate, 5 kilometers outside of Hanna in the Elysian Fields Manor Sector. Also, this is Mercantile Week! All goods are on sale at reasonable markdowns. Most everything is 10 percent off!"

Nebten's Sheet

"You guys really think highly of yourselves. Act causal and we should be fine. This gala maybe a way in. Or we can go with some kind of medical angle.

"If you two are really worried, I'm sure we can find some oversized cloaked robes for you."

"Seventy, tell me about the Gerren estate."

Ifrit

"Well if we are going to do this, lets do it. no sense in dragging things on. But perhaps until we are sure that there are no issues, someone should man the ship's weapons? They can be very useful in fights such as this."

Nebten's Sheet

"I think that would be a horrible idea. Last thing we want to be doing is getting into a firefight on the ground, then taking to the sky with ISDs in orbit. Hold on, I think I saw some robes in the storage area."

If its OK with the group, I want to use a Destiny Point to allow full body coverings for the wookiees per the Deus Ex Machina option. This will be a good way to move things along. This allowable DM?

I will allow it. Now at 2L6D.

Nebten finds some usable leather tarps in the cargo bay of the ship and is able to fashion coverings for the two Wookiees.

7D looks at you for a moment, almost as if he were appalled that you wouldn't know anything of Gerren Jalma's estate. If that were possible for a droid. "Of course! Master Jalma's estate sprawls 5 kilometers in all directions and is only one of many estates he keeps in the Core Worlds. Chandrila being his home, this estate is the largest. It is more than adequate to hold all the visitors, even yourselves. I can upload a public map for your viewing leisure to your datapads, if you like."

At once the droid sends you the public area map of the Jalma estate.

Everyone gets a Boost die whenever they do something regarding the Estate.

As you pass the stormtroopers, they seem to eye you warily, but do nothing to stop you as the droid nods at them when you go by. A repulsor taxi is waiting outside the docking area. "Ah, it seems you have already made arrangements. I will accompany you to the estate, but then I must see to my duties regarding your ship."

The drive to the estate isn't long, but you can tell by the way the droid driver is going, this isn't a main thoroughfare. You are taken to a back area, close enough to see the manor on top of a hill, but far enough away to not be noticed by the Imperial garrison that has been temporarily setup here. The driver lets you out here. A durasteel crate is sitting on top of a rock nearby.

Nebten's Sheet

"I guess we did make arrangements..." Nebten says in surprise as they are whisked away from the starport.

Realizing they took an alternative route, Nebten surmises that his benefactor may have had his hand in the resent trip. Seeing a lone crate upon a rock nearby, it just screams to be opened. Nebten walks over to the crate and obliges its demands.

"I knew it wouldn't be too difficult for you to find me. I left enough clues. The more difficult part comes next. I want you to kidnap me. I know what you're probably thinking and you're right. It's as crazy as it sounds. I'll explain more once we're space borne, but suffice to say with this new Imperial governor, my company and my status are in jeopardy. While I have many friends, I have even more enemies and this governor has called in a lot of favors. Your job is to make it look as real as you can. Inside you will find servant uniforms and stun blasters. Just in case anyone gets caught in the cross fire. The trail you will take to my manor will be the best trail to escape. I will make sure transport is waiting when we arrive. Good luck and may the Force be with you. "
